It happened to me in a conversation with Undergrace the other day - all because I was cutting, and pasting, and replying too quickly without double checking what I was posting.
That may be true Chester. That has happened to me also.
But not with something YOU YOURSELF POSTED!

I think I would KNOW what I said and not use what I said against someone else.

Let me just say...you will not last long here when you quote me with something I did not say and the embellished it to make me look like I was disagreeing with truth.....very dishonest and reported....

I never made the bolded part of the following quote and BC made it look like I said the following.....very very deceptive.....

dcontroversal said:
Would you like to see ALL of the NT verses about "practicing righteousness".

FALSE.......
I see there is a little confusion here. I am not clear from this what the false was against
and how it was taken by BCSenior.

But then if it looks bad, in this forum, it can easily become something else.

I am reminded of the roaring lion looking for people to devour.

8 Your enemy the devil, like a roaring lion, is on the prowl looking for someone to devour.
9 Resist him, strong in your faith, because you know that your brothers and sisters throughout the world are enduring the same kinds of suffering.
1 Peter 5

It can easily become something aggressive because anger gets involved.
If you doubt the power of the issues here, you doubt the real battle.

In the desert when a prey animal is hurt the vultures gather. I can see them
circling

It seems to go back to posts 72,73. I think BC senior (in post # 73) was actually answering what Dcontroversal actually said in post #72. I think what got in the box above his writing in post #73 was a mistake. Of course I could be wrong - I am just guessing!

And I don't think the response BCsenior writes in #73 is very nice - "brainwashed", "stupid"! Ah, not the best word choices! But I guess he needs to answer himself . . .

When you are born from above and have the living, power of the Holy Spirit in you,
it makes no sense that you should sin!
That's correct.

The Word came (and became Jesus)
to FREE BACs from being in bondage to sin.

He FREED BACs from being slaves of sin.

However, BACs are still free to choose to sin!

And most today choose to do just that.

We are the end-times church of Laodicea ...
which is not only fast asleep, but is luke-warm as well.

Deceived by Satan through the false churches.

Then, is there any hope for people like you?
Ignoring and rejecting NT verses which are there to help you!
Deceived, lied to, brainwashed, ignorant, stubborn, prideful, stupid, not a BAC?
This is a multiple choice question ... How many of these apply?
gnostic view - perfect pure spirit with a lost impure flesh.
You can be Genghis Khan, butchering people, torturing them and still be a pure holy believer
going to heaven, full of the Holy Spirit.

Why because the evil deeds are the flesh showing itself, and one disdain and hatred of this
behaviour is the pure spirit that is eternal and with Jesus.

Now if these psychopaths want to believe this, that is fine, as long as they are put in a safe
place and I do not have to spend time with them unless I have protection.

Why? Because who am I talking to? The nutcase mass murderer or the loving pure spirit.
And when the spirit actually is bound to the individual and flesh at judgement, what a shock.
There is no division between guilt. If the flesh causes sin, the person is thrown into hell.

28 But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to desire her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.
29 If your right eye causes you to sin, tear it out and throw it away! It is better to lose one of your members than to have your whole body thrown into hell.
Matt 5

Jesus spoke this to show guilt is in the whole individual not just their flesh.

Yet you think you have to earn your salvation by continuing in faith.
Why do you not trust God to keep you. And not yourself?
I wonder if this question could be put in a more imaginative way.
Obviously walking with Jesus in love is fulfilling His will, which is our salvation.
God is keeping us in His walk, it is Him who works in our hearts and lives every day.

To suggest a believer is not abiding and in dwelt by the Holy Spirit and His power declares
this is not an experience you are aware of. God bless you.

May you come to know Jesus flowing from every pore of your being, Praise the Lord.

Paul never said that

Your adding to the word

Paul said all 3 times, We are SEALED UNTIL the day of redemption. At no time did he says unless we break the seal.
I never said Paul said that. Another one of your spins.
The Bible says it.

The Bible says it.
They are really bothered by the idea of losing a seal.
Paul says we are sealed by the Holy Spirit dwelling in our hearts.

22 who also sealed us and gave us the Spirit in our hearts as a down payment
2 Cor 1

30 And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.
Eph 4

What happens when a believer denies their faith and becomes something else denying God?
Does the Holy Spirit leave and the seal thereby is removed?

Paul said of this one believer
15> For some have already wandered away to follow Satan.
1 Tim 5

The absurd idea would be the Holy Spirit in someones heart being mixed with an evil spirit.
When Paul handed over someone to satan for rebuke, how does this work

20 Among these are Hymenaeus and Alexander, whom I handed over to Satan to be taught not to blaspheme.
1 Tim 1

I am not sure there is a definitive answer but there is definately an issue if the Holy Spirit leaves someone.
God bless you

I did not spin, The context was the three times paul spoke about being sealed with the spirit.

I just told you what Paul said. Paul did not say what you said. The bible can not contradict paul. So the bible does not say it either.

You want a bible which contradicts itself. Thats on you.

Wrong....he refurbished nothing...we are a NEW creation in Christ JESUS
wrong.....It is all his work and sustain power...He that began a new work in you WILL complete it
Wrong....Where sin abounds grace abounds the more <--written to believers
Wrong...We maintain nothing.....HE upholds us by his power and KEEPS us by his power

The only thing you said that was correct....the bolded.....!!
The gift of salvation must be maintained, the Holy Spirit won't abide in an unholy vessel. Just because you said a prayer, doesn't mean your automatically going to heaven. This is what satans mega churches are based on, a lie.

1. No one said it is only by prayer
2. If it must be maintained. It is of works, not of grace
3. According to the law. 1 sin makes you unholy. So according to you. The HS can never abide in anyone.

All of your sins (past, present, future) have been forgiven

“For he who lacks these things is shortsighted, even to blindness,
and has forgotten that he was cleansed from his OLD sins.” (2 Peter 1:9, NKJV)

>>> “OLD sins” is also in the KJV, RSV, NLT, AMP
“… having forgotten his purification from his FORMER sins.” (2 Peter 1:9, NASB)
>>> “FORMER sins” is also in the ESV
“… forgetting that they have been cleansed from their PAST sins.” (2 Peter 1:9, NIV)
>>> “PAST sins” is also in the HCSB

John is writing to his fellow Christians …
“But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins
and to cleanse us from all wickedness (unrighteousness).” (1 John 1:9, NLT)
This is an extremely important verse … all men need to be repeatedly purified from
all unrighteousness – from all their sins … We must confess our sins and turn from them
… We must also confess them with our actions … (John) is talking here about repentance
… we must hate our sins and turn from them. This is true repentance.
(The Applied New Testament Commentary; Dr. Thomas Hale, missionary to Nepal)

Paul warns the errant Corinthian church that their …
“godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation” (2 Corin. 7:9-10, NKJV)

You are now righteous

“… you can choose to obey God, which leads to righteous living …
So now you must give yourselves to be slaves to righteous living” (Romans 6:16-19)

“… let no one deceive you. He who practices righteousness is righteous just as He is righteous.
He who sins is of the devil … Whoever has been born of God does not sin (habitually)
… In this the children of God and the children of the devil are manifest:
whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God” (1 John 3:7-10)

“… who fears Him and works righteousness is accepted by Him” (Acts 10:35)

“But you, O man of God, flee these things and pursue righteousness and a godly life
… pursue righteous living” (1 Timothy 6:11, 2 Timothy 2:22)

You are now holy

“… give yourselves to be slaves to righteous living so that you will become holy.” (Romans 6:16-19)

“work at living a holy life, for those who are not holy will not see the Lord.” (Hebrews 12:14)

“God’s will is for you to be holy, so stay away from all sexual sin … live in holiness and honor.
… God has called us to live holy lives, not impure lives. Therefore, anyone who refuses to live
by these rules is not disobeying human teaching but is rejecting God” (1 Thessalonians 4:3-8)

“you must live as God’s obedient children … now you must be holy in everything you do,
just as God who chose you is holy. For the Scriptures say, ‘You must be holy because I am holy.’ ”
(1 Peter 1:14-15)

You have been saved and you can never lose your salvation

“… you are that one’s slaves whom you obey, whether (slaves) of sin leading to (eternal) death,
or (slaves) of obedience leading to righteousness” (Romans 6:16)

“For to be carnally-minded is (eternal) death, but to be spiritually-minded
is (eternal) life and peace.” (Romans 8:5-6)

“For IF you live according to the flesh you will die (eternal death); but IF by the Spirit
you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live (eternal life).” (Romans 8:13)

“For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption (eternal death),
but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life.” (Galatians 6:7-8)

“Blessed is the man who endures temptation; for when he has been approved,
he will receive the crown of (eternal) life which the Lord has promised to those who
love Him … when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin when it is full-grown,
brings forth (eternal) death. Do not be deceived, my beloved brethren.” (James 1:12-15)

Jesus often said. “Those who love Me will obey My commandments.”
Amazing that you got 7 disagrees, but we live in a time where people do not want to act Christlike, and believe they are alright with God.

But the Bible says hypocrisy will increase as time goes on.

Isa 59:2 But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.

Sin separates us from God whether we claim Jesus or not.

2Ti 3:4 lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
2Ti 3:5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
2Ti 3:7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

Some people have a form of godliness, but they deny the Spirit leading them, and it points out that they are lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God, for they will not let go of the flesh, but want to enjoy sin, and then believe they are alright with God.

The Bible says turn away from them, for their hypocrisy does not do justice to the Christian Church that is supposed to preach repentance of sins, all the while they are holding unto sin themselves.

They will not let go of the flesh, so they do not come to the truth that sin affects their relationship with God, but say they cannot abstain from sins, sin daily, and sin does not affect their relationship with God, so they hold unto sin thinking they are alright with God.

And there is no excuse for a Spirit led life will not fulfill the lusts of the flesh, for they have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts, and show the ways of the Spirit, which there is no ways of the flesh.

And God will not allow them to be tempted above what they can handle, and will give them an escape from the temptation so they can bear it.

For if they say they cannot abstain from sin, then they are holding unto sin, with the attitude we are not perfect, we are only human.

Heb 10:26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,
Heb 10:27 But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.

All sin can be forgiven, but a person should understand the truth that sin does affect their relationship with God, and get rid of the sin, and move on.

If a person sins wilfully, holds unto sin, then there is no more sacrifice for sins, which the blood of Jesus cannot take the sin away because they are not letting it go, but holding unto it.

That is the difference between having the Spirit, and not having the Spirit, for a person that has the Spirit will move forward in the Spirit, and if they do sin they will get rid of it, and move forward in the Spirit, having the proper understanding that sin affects their relationship with God.

But those that do not have the Spirit will hold unto sin, and think they are alright with God despite their sins, but they want to enjoy sins, live in sin, and believe they are alright with God, having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God.

And there is many people that will not let go of the world that claim Christ, and you see their hypocrisy in society as they enjoy sin, but claim the Bible and Christ.

And they think they are alright, and will go against you if you point it out, but they are ever learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth, for their flesh is their master, and they are led of the flesh, all the while they think they have the Spirit.

2Ti 2:19 Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.
2Ti 2:20 But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour.
2Ti 2:21 If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work.

The Lord knows them that are His having this seal, for this is what seals the saints, and how they are led of the Spirit, that everyone that names the name of Christ depart from iniquity.

Mat 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
Mat 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

Those that do not do the Father's will to depart from iniquity shall not be able to dwell with Jesus.

Rom 11:20 Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not highminded, but fear:
Rom 11:21 For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare not thee.
Rom 11:22 Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.

Heb 3:12 Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.
Heb 3:13 But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.
