The Lord had told His disciples that He would rise again several times. Given who He was that should have been everyone's expectation. That's why it is so puzzling.
True. But rather than bringing spices to embalm the body of Christ, one would have thought they all (men and women) would have gathered around the tomb and simply prayed "Lord, we are waiting for you to show yourself to us. We know you are not in that sepulchre".

That would have been ideal, except they didn't.
What can we read and learn from by their mistake (for the lack of a better word)?
I don't believe that it was something that was counted against them either?
I've been to the foot of the cross where I asked for His mercy and forgiveness. He saved me and forgave all my sin. I was already face down in the dust and completely without hope Upon hearing the word of God and learning of the judgment upon my sin I was taken to the John 16:8-11 experience. I received mercy in place of judgment. Saved by grace through faith.
I am surmising that guy is an author who wrote that line. Never heard of him or read his book. I will take your word and not read it either. Probably some new-age crap and that's not what I'm about.
On the plus side I have not felt the need to shed any tears since I got remarried almost 5 years ago. Thank you for the comforting passage from Revelation.

Not sure at all where I picked up that phrase haven't never read the book and not knowing the author. My main source of reading material is the Holy Bible and I believe it in it's entirety, and every word, jot and tittle is there for a specific purpose. It is truly the Word of God. It is spiritual food and drink for those that are hungry and have a thirst. This is one book that I highly recommend.

To be honest, I haven't read it either but have only read excerpts of it and reports about it from more than one source. I was in a Church counselling 'leadership' group where the pastor assigned it as reading material, needless to say I dropped out of the class...intentionally. Having a background in the New Age (before it was popularly called such) and the occult, I have a great aversion to such topics and those who promote them.
Correct. But they did receive mild rebukes for unbelief.
Then he said unto them, O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken: (Lk 24:25)
And he said unto them, Why are ye troubled? and why do thoughts arise in your hearts? (Lk 24:38)
Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing. (Jn 20:27)
Do all believe Jesus Christ when He says God is able to raise children to Abraham from the stones?
As a believer are you separated eternally from the Issrael of God? I know my faith is the faith of Abraham, and I know Who Abraham is. Oh! Not the one from Pdan Aram, no, the one Who mae all that is.
Amos 3:3 Can two walk together except they be agreed.
Walk with Jesus everyday and the word of God will burn in your heart. The Light of the word of God will shine into your life and give it's light to those lost in this world of darkness.
Tell someone tell everyone what Jesus has done for you and will do for them.
