I understand but I have no way to press the issue so I must give a benefit of the doubt to such folks and trust that God will sort them out. Real world face to face things can be explored and explained that cannot be done here on the forums.

Paul stood firm against false teachers.

It is one thing when it is a different view on a non salvic issue. But when it is a salvic issue. We not only need to confront them, But expose them.

I mean eternity is at stake is it not?

I believe the sign of born again is the fruit. And the fruit of the Holy Spirit is love.

Speak in tongues is gift of the Holy Spirit like healing.

In the Bible there is a story, Jesus heal 10 people with leprosy, only one back to Jesus

To me this story tell, one my get the gift of the Spirit but not born again

Aww. I am putting CS1 to sleep. I guess CS1 agrees with his way to heaven, and does not think his gospel is dangerous?
I will tell you only once do not tell me "his gospel" I have not even mentioned you. Nor have engaged with you. You, sir, have done that for the last time. The Gospel I believe in says Jesus is the only way, the only life, and the only truth. John 14:6 and Roman 10:9-10 Confess with my mouth the Lord Jesus Christ and Believe in my heart That God has raised HIM from the dead and I shall be saved . That sir is the Gospel IF you disagree then you sir are not in line with the Gospel and you have your own. You and I are done. To insult my faith of the Lord Jesus Christ and to suggest I have another gospel, is impugning on my integrity. I have never said you were not saved I have never said you must speak in tongues. I have never said you must agree with me. NOW you will be leaving.

you are a scoffer and a mockery of the word of God. It is really sad that you would label those you do not agree with. Then attack with such venom. It is clear by your words and lack of reverence for the Holy Spirit you say such things.
Really? My label? And their lack of reverence for the foundation and the clear understanding of what the sign is in 1 Corinthians 14 (no faith) does not show lack of reverence for the Holy Spirit. I would think .Yet for all they fall backward slain in the spirit. That has some bearing on reverence?

How is it that the scoffers (stammering lips) that mock God by refusing to hear prophecy indicated by those who fall back slain in the Spirt are showing reverence but the believer is not?

With all due respect. How would you suggest we deal with the venom of false doctrines?

As a sign and wonder that follows or leads like prophecy ?

According to the law of signs (1 Corinthians 14:21-22) Signs what the eyes see the temporal are for those who rebel prophecy the eternal for those who beleive. (have faith)

I would think putting on the 20/20 prescription 2 Corinthians 4:18 for searching the hidden meaning in parables, the dark things become clearer when exposed to the light .

2 Corinthians 4:18 While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.

The disciples of John in acts 19 could not have the Holy Spirit. The time they believed was before pentecost. You must consider that there is a different between OT and NT (after pentecost) believers. Thats why Paul asked them.

What ever Jesus meant when he breathed to the Apostles. It was not the same what we have since pentecost. Consider that Thomas and Matthias ( who came later, after Jesus went to heaven) was not breathed from Him.
Before pentecost, no believer got the Holy Spirit. This happend after pentecost.
Every believer after pentecost receives the Holy Spirit, otherwise he is not born again.
context verse 22 says they saw the resurrected Lord.

22 Beginning from the baptism of John, unto that same day that he was taken up from us, must one be ordained to be a witness with us of his resurrection. The two men Barsabas, who was surnamed Justus, and Matthias. both saw Jesus after He had been resurrected they were saved.[/QUOTE]
I thought you dont want have contact with me. And you dont want that i quote you. Why you then quote me?
Yes, they were witness of Jesus ressurection, but where you have it from that Jesus breath on them as he did when Thomas was not among them when Jesus appear in front of the apostles for to do it?

Bad analogy. Christ saves us by faith and not by water baptism. You continue to “add” to the finished work of Christ. We have access by faith into grace.. (Romans 5:1-2).
No, my friend, not "adding" but simply believing and obeying (applying) as we are commanded to do.

When I was filled with the Holy Ghost speaking in tongues, it was the differance between night and day. For months afterward there was a spiritual sheild in front of me, and the things that would usually get me angry could not get through this shield, the darts of the enemy could not get through.

John 3:8 The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.

John 7:38 He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.

God bless!

You will be judged by how you judge others.

Psalm 2:1 ¶ Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?
2 The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying,
3 Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.
4 He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision.
5 Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure.

You are man centered.
I am ALWAYS CORRECT if i live in the word obediently.
Now,you or i can not walk in obedience OUTSIDE of the SPIRIT.
The law killeth, but the spirit giveth life.
Psst; read where it says "the righteous man judgeth all things, but he himself is judged by no one"
You can" try on" all the verses you want and not quite arrive . Always coming up short in snippits of head " knowledge" because the things of God are spiritually discerned.

Not me or anybody is judged off of your perception.
Things are correctly percieved from heaven, not out of your mental perception

You stated that Jesus breathed the Holy Ghost on the disciples in the upper room. He did not. Read John 20:19-24.

God has impressed me that many are prodigals sons. Wandering far from God and wasting the riches of grace on worldly endeavors.
Worldly endeavors? What a strange way to look at people that follow the word of God.

Certainly, these were John the Baptist disciples who have never heard of the Holy Spirit though they believe in John's baptism. Upon presenting Christ as in verse 4 and when they understood this which obviously believe in contrast to those who believe not on him in the synagogue (verse 9) what Paul said on Christ then they were baptized as essential to obedience. The laying of hands is the infilling of the holy Spirit. and this does not mean the Holy Spirit had not dealt with them individually. Rather, this was the extension of ascension gift of the Holy Spirit to the early believers as it had happened to the Jews at Pentecost.
The very first sentence Paul speaks states something he understood. People did not always receive the Holy Ghost the moment they believed. Period.

Paul approached the twelve disciples with no prior knowledge of where they stood spiritually speaking. Only after asking the question did Paul then tell them what was required. I don't understand how the truth seen in his question is so hard for people to comprehend.

Acts 19:1-2
And it came to pass, that, while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul having passed through the upper coasts came to Ephesus: and finding certain disciples,

He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed?

Why did you put a sleeping mark on my post. Where I was standing up for that gospel against someone who teaches a different gospel Than you just posted?

You my friend have to be more thoughtful. When you do things like that, how else are we to take it?

Like I have said many times, Most times it is better to just leave things alone, this is how these things always get started!

Did you assume I was fighting against tongues? If that was so, you assumed wrong, I was standing firm against his gospel which teaches that not only must you be baptized in water before you are justified, You also MUST speak in tongues. And even mentioned that his church is the one and only true church. (As far as I understood you did not agree with that, But when you did what you did, I had no other choice but to assume I was worng in that thinking, you left me no choice!)

That is what I was standing against And you put the “ZZZ” emoticon on my post.

So how was I to understand other than you agreed with Waggles?

And done’t judge me for judging your gospel. That was not my intend, and you should know that sir!!

It was in the authority of Jesus (In the name of Jesus), so take it plainly from what Christ said in Matthew 28 where all power has been given to Christ. Christ said in a very clear manner that saved believers ought to be baptized in this proper way. You may just take it (in Jesus name) or leave it.

Mat 28:18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
Mat 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
Something to consider. Jesus said all power has been given unto me. Why would He then advise people to use something other than His own name?

Bad analogy. Christ saves us by faith and not by water baptism. You continue to “add” to the finished work of Christ. We have access by faith into grace.. (Romans 5:1-2). Plus, I already received water baptism following my conversion several years ago, so you are late. The call you are hearing is not from the Lord.

Also, in Acts 2:38, "for the remission of sins" does not refer back to both clauses, "you all repent" and "each one of you be baptized," but refers only to the first. Peter is saying "repent unto the remission of your sins," the same as in Acts 3:19. The clause "each one of you be baptized" is parenthetical. This is exactly what Acts 3:19 teaches except that Peter omits the parenthesis.

In Acts 10:43 we read ..whoever believes in Him will receive remission of sins. These Gentiles received the gift of the Holy Spirit - Acts 10:45 - (compare with Acts 2:38 - the gift of the Holy Spirit) when they believed on the Lord Jesus Christ - Acts 11:17 - (compare with Acts 16:31 - Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved) BEFORE water baptism - Acts 10:47 - this is referred to as repentance unto life - Acts 11:18.

*So the only logical conclusion when properly harmonizing Scripture with Scripture is that faith in Jesus Christ "implied in genuine repentance" (rather than water baptism) brings the remission of sins and the gift of the Holy Spirit (Luke 24:47; Acts 2:38; 3:19; 5:31; 10:43-47; 11:17,18; 15:8,9; 16:31; 26:18). *Perfect Harmony* (y)

The Lord is calling you to repent and believe the gospel (and not your watered down gospel).
Whoever truly believes in Jesus will obey His instructions and in doing so will certainly receive remission of their sin.

What is truly sad is that some people here cannot accept that we share what the bible says and our own experience because we care about them. It seems many they think it is done in an effort to point fingers and pat oneself on the back. We know that there is nothing to be boastful about because all an individual does is open their mouth in praise to God and the Holy Ghost takes over from there. My heart goes out to those who have received wrong teaching that hamper their ability to receive such a blessed gift from God. And my prayer and yours I'm sure is that the eyes of some will to be open and many will come to see the truth.
