Hi there

If you like smoothies, and like citrus and banana.... then its a good idea to use the whole of the fruit, skin and all. heres my favourite

one banana, with the top and tail removed
one orange whole
raisins or sultanas for sweetness

cut ingredients small, add sultanas or raisins and fruit to a blender. add water and blend.the resulting mixture can be quite thick so pour some into a recepticle and dilute. you can store the rest in the fridge for a day or so.

check out online for the benefits of orange skin and pith and banana skin. i hope you like.. i certainly do! :)

This sounds interesting. If I ever dig my blender out (packed away due to recent move) I'll have to try it. Thanks for the helpful links too.

would just like to point something out... dont use all the banana peel.. its got a bitter aftertaste. best to just use one strip per recipe. my advice is to try different amounts. it seems worthwhile nutritionally to add the peel

Hmmm...I don't know if it's a good idea to add the banana and citrus peels...yeah it has benefits too but I am afraid it will not taste that good... By the way I do smoothies everyday...a combination of spinach, apple, avocado, nuts, banana and chia seeds...

But I would love to try this one day 😊

Thanks for sharing I appreciate it ❤ and welcome to the family! God bless you ❤

I tried making smoothies for a while as a way to increase the amount of fruit and vegetables I consume, for health reasons, since live, raw foods are much better for you than those that are processed and cooked :) Problem was, the smoothie did not replace any meal; I was just as hungry for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, after a hefty morning smoothie, as I was without the smoothie in my diet... and guess what? Yeah, I gained weight :cry::censored: A lot of weight, which I neither wanted nor need  It takes a lot longer to lose weight than it does to pack it on :p

I feel the same sis Magenta it doesn't make me full 😂

I feel you sis Magenta 🤭 my weight now is my heaviest uggghh I am no expert but I guess hormonal imbalance is one of the reasons also of my weight gain...and I notice also the older we get the harder to lose weight already. It is hard to lose weight now that I am 41 than when I was in my 20's.
But it is always better to eat fruits and vegetables than processed foods and other unhealthy stuff even if most of the healthy stuff are 😖

I am underweight so maybe I should get into the smoothies to pack it on.

I would probably have to run my blender through the dishwasher to wash the dust off.

I put bee pollen in my smoothies too. I think I read somewhere that bee pollen is like taking a multivitamin. It has become less available though because of the reduction of bees.
