nope

not to be rude, but multiple people have supplied that answer and many others to you

try reading through Acts where several instances happened

but why focus just on tongues?

try googling your question.
You are jokeing. Lol nobody could show me that. And you too did not show me that.
There is no single vers (out of acts 2,10 and 19 which were onetime events with a special purpose) that speaking in tongues is the proof that someone is baptised with the Holy Spirit.
This teaching begann with the pentecostal movement in 1901.

And again, please show me in the scripture that this was taught to the believers.[/QUOTE]

no I am not joking

don't be so lazy

it's in Acts and you can google it or read it in any language you want

you HAVE been shown many times. quit it.

what you are really trying to do, is to get me or someone to post scripture again and they you will say no proof or if no one answers you will say that no one answers because they have no proof

very childish and you have done it repeatedly

don't ask me again. maybe someone else will commit to that 'I didn't see it please show me and when you do I will deny it says what it says or say it is not for today or bring up Azua street again in fact I will do anything but actually concede it is in scripture' response you give repeatedly or variation thereof

in fact, you have already denied that anyone answered you...so there's the proof on that

you actually hurt yourself now every time you say no one answered you because many have and have given you the exact scripture and post articles and links to articles about what you say no one has answered you with
now if you have enough time to sit and post in this thread, you have enough time to read Acts

me?

I don't have enough time. I'm actually very busy and just taking a break

I don't have time to answer what has been answered over and over again

I bet even another cessationist could point it out to you by now

search the threads on tongues. some contain excellent information

if I can do that or others can do that...so can you.

have fun

Jesus states one will hear the Holy Spirit when one is born of the Spirit:
John 3:8
The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.
John 3:8
The Spirit breatheth where he will and thou hearest his voice: but thou knowest not whence he cometh and whither he goeth. So is every one that is born of the Spirit.
How ironic the Catholic Douay-Rheims Version has the most truthful literal translation of the Greek.

Jesus often used parables to explain concepts to people who did not understand.
And you would claim now that everybody who has not heared the Holy Spirit is not born again??

Again, nobody was able show me the verses ( out of acts 2, 10 and 19 ) that it is taught to believers that the proof to be baptist in the spirit is the gift of speaking in tongues.
Solong nobody can do this, this doctrine is a man made doctrine and not from the bible.

But as somebody who follow this doctrine you should be able to show that this was also taught to other believers in the bible.

Yes God declares this in his word.
There is one and only one sign (evidence) given in scripture and in the church - confirmation of the baptism of the Holy spirit
is speaking forth in a new tongue - praying IN the Holy spirit.
This is confirmed numerous times again directly by God through the gift of prophecy in our church meetings.

Fake news!! A completely false assertion.
How about some honesty from you.
Fake news? Ok Donald Trump? Some honesty from me? Are you calling me a liar? Bro gets some manners.

Tounges is only refrenced in Acts. Not one scripture outside of Acts says they recieved the Spirit and spoke in other tounges. But you have the opportunity to prove me otherwise. Mr Fake News.

Bro there is no verses outside of Acts. He said he got his information from his church meetings. Clearly its a cult thing. Man made doctrine is false doctrine and theres no point entertaining it. If it aint in scripture then WHO CARES. Hes a pentecostal guy. Probly believes in oneness.

My question to you: Please provide scripture that shows something other than tongues accompanying the infilling of the Holy Ghost.

Scripture shows that speaking in tongues accompanied the initial baptism of the Holy Ghost. The book of Acts is essential to understanding the birth of the NT church. It would be foolish to discount the instruction God provided in Acts; it paints a clear picture of what occurs when God fills one with His Spirit.

Acts 2:2-4
And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.
And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.
And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

Notice the cloven tongues appeared as fire sitting upon those present. This points to the fact that the Spirit entered into each person individually. There is a parallel in the OT. How did one know that God was present in the wilderness tabernacle? God produced a flame that dispelled the darkness. Christians realize that there very bodies are considered God's tabernacle/dwelling place today.

Your comment that Paul stated that not all speak in tongues was his reference to the Spiritual gift of tongues. This is separate from the the initial infilling of the Holy Ghost.

In addition, Jesus explained to Nicodemus how one knows an individual is born of the Spirit. He stated clearly that one cannot visibly see the Spirit, however, the Spirit can be heard when it comes:

John 3:8
The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.

After receiving the Holy Ghost one can stir it, and its fruit should continue to manifest in believers lives.
When the wind blows do you hear tounges? Common knowledge. Answer is no. We all know what wind sounds like brotha. This doesnt confirm tounges.

I provided you with scripture. Please share scripture outside of Acts according to what happend at pentecost. Show me any other account refrenced outside of Acts.

I'm going to say this generally before answering more individual posts:

Do you want the same Holy Ghost that was given in Acts, or do you want what people claim it is now?

Because if you want the Holy Ghost that was given in Acts it will have the same attributes as it had then (power, healings, miracles, tongues, prophesying) and you'll seek God until those attributes are manifest in you as well.

It's not a mystery why people who don't want healing to manifest through them don't HAVE healings manifesting through them...It’s because they don't seek it out!

BTW ... You don’t get healings or other miracles to manifest through you just because you want them to... if you want God to move in you big time, then you'd better be seeking God big time. The disciples wanted to cast the devil out of that one kid in Mark 9:28 but for some of the big stuff it doesn't work like that...Jesus told them they'll have to pray and fast to get that to work through them.

So it is with most things of God. The prophets of old didn't just go to ball games and to their job and then expect God to move for them just because of their title. They spent time in prayer, seeking God earnestly.

Simply put, tongues is real. It does what the bible says it does (edifies, prays things we don't know, needs interpreted if anyone other than God needs to know what is said, etc). Not everyone gets this gift even though this particular gift is available to everyone. This gift is available to everyone because this gift not just a gift, it's actually a promise..THE promise... because everyone needs to be able to pray and worship God in the spirit, not just in their understanding.

HOWEVER, no one is going to force it on you. If you don't want it, don't get it, and/or don't use it. But you’d be wise to get out of the way of those who are seeking God for the same kind of outpouring that is documented in the Bible.

Please show me any location in the bible (even including Acts) where the bible describes someone in the act of receiving the Holy Ghost where there wasn't an immediate (and observable by others) evidence such as tongues.

The reason I point to those 4 outpourings of the Holy Ghost in Acts as the template for what receiving the Holy Ghost is like, is because those are the ones God gave us, and I know of no other biblical accounts upon which to base assumptions and to test doctrines & suppositions.

My thinking is this.... if a person's doctrine/belief/supposition cannot pass through the 4 examples GOD gave us, then perhaps it is an incorrect or at least incomplete doctrine/belief/supposition.

Not only did Jews receive the life giving message on the Day of Pentecost but Samaritans in Acts 8, Gentiles in Acts 10, and disciples in Ephesus in Acts 19. All of mankind consists of one or more of the three groups mentioned.
Peter stated ALL were to repent, be water baptized in Jesus' name for the remission of sin, and receive the Holy Ghost. The promise was not just for those present but for their children, and those afar off (in the future) EVEN AS MANY AS THE LORD SHALL CALL. (Acts 2)

The Lord is still calling individuals and will continue to do so until the end of the age.
This is a really good post. I'd not considered the actual groupings of those in the 4 examples God provided. THANKS.

John G Lake - who was inspired to pursue divine healing through the ministry of John Alexander Dowie.
Water baptized by full immersion and baptized in the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues:
went on to settle in Spokane, Washington where he is documented to have healed tens of thousands of people;
so much so that the State government went to charge John Lake with practising medicine without a licence.

Another great Pentecostal teacher and apostle of the last century -
again in full compliance with Acts 2:38 and Mark 16:15-20
Fully documented through newspapers of his times and various biographies to countless miracles and healings.
Known to have raised some 8 people from the dead through the power of the Holy Spirit.
One divine healing meeting in Switzerland there were some 500 crutches and wheelchairs left behind.

Kelby, how you explain then that before 1901 this Holy Spirit was not available for around 1800 years? Except in many sects and cults?
