Lately I have noticed there are few people in the streets sharing the message of hope with the lost. If we even have organized door-to-door visitation programs is a wonder. Who is out there? Are we depending on Pat Roberson and the 700 Club now? That is not how Jesus started the work and it spread all over the world. Jesus sent believers out 2 by 2. He said that we should not worry for what to take. Today we get itchy if we don't have our tablet. How are the unbelievers to hear the gospel? Are they suppose to walk by a church and hear clashing drums and say to themselves, "I want to go in there", don't hold your breath. I have been in churches where I felt as uncomfortable as a skunk. We have a guy here who never tires of helping the homeless and he gets law suits for it not to mention lice, hostility and protests. We have more love for sin than the sinner. I met a guy yesterday who said he was trying to be good. He said he accepted Jesus years ago in prison but walked away. How can you be good if you walk away from God? I have led friends and others to the Lord and know their joy in worship is the sharing of his message as he intended. Now we don't even meet each other. WE don't talk face to face. IF your life is not satisfying, maybe your faith is not right. God does not need drummers or seat warmers. God needs obedience. Obedience is the command of his disciples to go out and share the message not hide behind fake names, lawyers, and fears like on chat rooms. I have asked for help to work this site. I got 2 responses. I realize now that caring does not come from asking for help any more. We have lost our message to deception. Is not kindness one of the fruits of the spirit? Where is it in the modern age? I have met Christians who don't read the Bible. How do you know you are a Christian if you don't read his testimony? Let's get out there and off our tuffets and go to the lost and forget our need to hide our light under a bushel. I pray I can find friends but God wants me to go out and share. In another city that is where I met people and became brother to them.

This apathy is not God's, it is man's There is a solution but man does not want to do it. When is the last time you gave a man a gospel track and shared your life with him. How about a stinky dirty street oersib? Jesus sent his disciples out to tell of his coming. Today we are more concerned about blowing our horn and not showing thhe way. We are Christian in name only. WE don't even learn out of the bible any more. God is the same yesterday today and forever. WE want perfection and artistry not salvation. I heard someone talk about Billy Graham's talent. Billy said once that he had no talent but a gift to share the healing power of the gospel. A gift comes from God. A talent comes from vain ity. IT is a gift to share the gospel. Anybody can do it. Instructions: 1. You leave the house with a little note in your hand talking about salvation and a Bible, 2. You walk up to someone and ask them if they know who Jesus is, 3. IF they don't then tell him what he did for you. I told a guy yesterday that he needed to ask God to forgive him for walking away from him. God does not move, we do. Maybe we are not true believers if we cannot take instruction. I love people, any people. I have loved them all. REmember the poor will see God. So stop getting so comfortable in your pew and bring someone to church or talk to someone you don't like. I saw an older woman ask Jesus to save her and she was homeless in a tattered dress stink! dirty but she is now my sister waiting for me in heaven because she died soon after due a violent blow from her boyfriend. There is something we can do if we seek God's guidance. He will not beg you to share with others but you will be happier if you did. Deric

what an odd idiom

all the skunks i've seen - not a small amount - seem generally happy and bouncy. they don't look uncomfortable?

I've never thought of that before, but I think you're right.

Skunks do always seem quite happy with themselves.

Even when skunks make ME uncomfortable, they seem to be quite comfortable with my lack of comfort.

The Suggestions section of the forum is for offering ideas on how to improve the site. Not general discussions.
Also use paragraphs. When you don't it creates a wall of text that can be difficult for some to read, thus they won't even try.

Skunks are happy, so are Christians in disobedience
i think you're right about the first part, and i think you're wrong about the second part.
and that doesn't explain the idiom at all

do people often say that where you're from?

We must always judge with right judgment, never by appearances. All of the understanding comes by the Holy Spirit when reading the Word. The Word is our Savior.

I believe each of us are given a different way to express the passion in our hearts that only comes from the Holy Spirit. I believe scripture when it says each member of the body is important. I see the members sharing the gospel and reaching out in distinctively different ways as they are led to do so by the Holy Spirit. I can force my way into any situation but my effectiveness will only be in those situations I walk with obedience in; in serving the Lord.
