Did the Pope really say "There's no difference between the Quran and the Bible"?

Actually, Paul attacked both, Christians and Christianity. Spiritually, before one can point out another person's flaws that person needs to address their own flaws as well. People will generally perceive an attack on their religion as a personal attack. That's just the way that it is.

If you were to attack a person's Catholic faith you must be prepared to also answer for your own faith. If you attempt to persuade someone to leave their Catholic church be prepared to answer questions about the church that you attend. In the bible it says that to not forsake the assembling together with others of a like-minded faith. If that person asks what church you attend and the reasons for it and you then say that you don't attend church that will sound rather lame and hypocritical. In such instances, any counsel you offer, even if it is sound spiritual counsel will go in one ear and out the other, and rightly so.
Again your not reading my post.. I am not talking about attacking the flaws in another person.. I am talking about exposing the flaws in other religions..

I am cool with having my Faith challenged by a catholic or a muslim or a hindu.. I am supremely confident in in my belief and so a catholic trying to attack my Christianity is not going to cause me to get angered..

Also the Church is the Body of believers it is Not a building so i can use that situation to explain to the catholic what the actual Body of Christ is and how it is not the catholic church building..

If the Word of God. The truth of the gospel goes in one ear and out the other then that person was destined to reject the true Gospel of God anyway.. At lest they where given a chance to hear the true Gospel and repent.. In the end each person is responsible for their own response to the Gospel.. It is better to give them an opportunity to hear it even if only once in their lives of living in the darkness of false religions like catholicism or islam..

If they ask you what church you attend and you say that you don't attend a church then the conversation is effectively over. I know that you are not attacking the person but most people will perceive that as an attack regardless of your intention. I am surmising that there are not many Catholics that attack another person's denomination or faith.

You are correct in stating that the church is the body of believers but most of the believers will in fact be Catholic. I am not defending the Catholic faith but merely point out things to consider when attempting to persuade someone that their faith is built on a weak foundation. I was born and raised a Catholic but no longer attend due to conflicts with stated principals and practices in scripture.

Almost every Catholic I have met and known believes in the Holy Trinity, believe in scripture, and that Jesus was the one who died for their sins and rose again so that one day they will rise again and live in God's presence. I really don't understand why there are those with an intense hatred of the Catholic Church to the exclusion of other more uplifting spiritual values that can be taught and applied in one's life. I guess they had a bad experience with mean nuns or something to that affect.

I will attack any religon that masqurades as the will of the God of abraham.. In doing so we undermine the ability of these false religons to decieve people and lead them to eternal destruction.. So yes attacking and undermining false religons is a worthy and productive use of a Christians time on earth..

Most people who come to believe in the Way of salvation will during the provcess feel the conviction of their sins and thus they feel hurt.. But it is a hurt that leads to correction and salvation..
What's your biblical basis for attacking? And what's your biblical basis for attacking by spreading a false rumor?

Well i was born into a devout catholic family and did 10 years as an altar boy and i have an uncle who is a priest and it was a tradition in my family that one sibling would either become a nun or a priest.. My generation was the first generation to break this tradition for a number of generations..

The problem with the catholic religion is that it is a works salvation religion.. It is about keeping all the ""holy days of obligation" praying to mary and not to the LORD.. So many more things.. The reason why i hate catholicism more then lets say the hindu religion is that the catholic religion is making the claim that it is the religion of the God of Abraham and it is the religion of Jesus.. The religions i hate the most are the religions that are closest to the Gospel of Jesus Christ without being the actual Gospel of Jesus Christ..

The religions that are closest to the truth of Jesus Christ, without actually being the Gospel of Jesus Christ have far greater deception ability to lead babes in Christ into destruction.. So religions like catholisism, judaism, islam and Jehovah's witness or mormonism are far more dangerous to Christians then shintoism, hinduism or bhuddism..

We do not pray to Mary, we’re asking for her prayer.

What’s it good for, hating like you do?

Again, just to be clear, I HAVE NOT ATTACKED ANYONE OR ANYTHING!!!! CERTAINLY NOT ANYONE'S FAITH!!! I have called for and asked my Christian brothers and sisters for clarification. Everyone is entitled to an opinion, as evidenced by how many flavors of Christianity are out there lol... But this religious leaning towards globalism is propheticly dangerous, and who should know that better than "the Vicar of Christ"

No i prayed the hail Mary almost weekly for the duration of my child and teen years and we definitely where praying to Mary..

Hating evil is good..

And praying to anyone but God is evil..

God made it clear we where never to attempt to contact the departed.. Christians should take no part in anything like a seance and praying the hail Mary is attempting to contact the deceased..

I agree with you... I think Catholicism is a cult, but I truly believe contempt prier to investigation is the lasting result of ignorance....

I do think the Lord operates STRONGLY within the Catholic "church". To me it's like an earthly spiritual purgatory. A good launching ground into deep rooted belief in the Lord but as with anything the potentiality to fall into error.

The missional mindedness and community mindedness of the Catholic church is something to be applauded. There are obviously things that are "concerning", but I have found that unsound doctrine doesn't fully "stick" to those called of the Lord. I leave that in his hands.

I agree with the service and have been around Catholics that have deepened my faith and the stuff that is a "sticking point" for so many believers in different denominations doesn't ever come up. Can we agree on the majors? Yes. Ok, lets get to work.

^brief view...I could ramble for hours about my experiences...AS TO THE OP though...

Was this really said? I see the articles that are referred to, but have conflicting information in the thread. Do we have a video reference with the exact words?

I would personally agree with the Lord being one to an EXTENT...it's much like apologetics. Logically believing in God is not too terribly difficult (although sometimes it can be).

Yeshua on the otherhand....that is a gift from the Father. Drawing people's hearts to the Father is a good first step but if it doesn't ever lead to the cross, I would say the mission was in vain.

Yes, there are many videos of him making that speach, not hard to find. However, what's most bothersome to me is what he has done since I started this thread.....
