Of course when we truly think of Easter we are contemplating the death and resurrection of Jesus-- of the great, unmatchable sacrifice that He made for us to pay for our sins so that we can share eternity with Him. Hands down that is the ultimate!!!
BUT...
When you think of Easter do you ALSO, like me, have an assortment of memories of tastes, smells, music, places, people... etc etc that flood your mind? What "makes" the celebration of Easter most real for you? Or what are some of your memories of Easter that you hold dear to your heart and that you always think of when the holiday comes around (and no, they don't have to be of "religious" orientation... just talking about human experience.... ) ?
I have to start the ball rolling with (one!) of my most favorite Easter hymns... after the Easter Sunday church service which usually ended with this song (it seemed like it always did when I was a little kid ) it felt like my feet weren't even touching the ground... This video is not of any church or choir that I've been to, just pulled it off youtube bc it was the closest I could find to what I remember and love so much. I hope you'll enjoy it too and that it, as well as any other posts on this thread, will draw our hearts closer as Easter 2019 approaches...
