Hi gb9,

I recognise what God means. You seem to believe I am failing to accept Gods meaning.
Please show me the verses you are referring to. I suspect you are talking theology and ideas
derived from scripture, which is a poor foundation until you explain it. :)

I have quoted God and His intention
it s not about the verses, you keep changing the subject,

it is the words that the verses are composed of and their definitions ( which you deny).

words have definitions. you can quote them all you want, but if you deny the definitions of the words, then your quoting them is hollow and empty.

Hi gb9,

I am not changing the subject, you raised it, how to define sin.
I thought a bit deeper and came up with two different views on sin expressed in the Torah.

I also am happy to pursue ideas, but you caused me to see some of what you are saying is Greek
philosophy, which I know goes into absolutes of good and evil, which are not christian in essence.

So I am now asking you to contribute your foundations in scripture of what sin is, as you are saying I am wrong.

Let me take a problem with generic definitions. If God commands me to do something, from the throne,
I am in sin if I do not follow it, like Jonah was, who almost paid with his life for disobeying, yet God used this
as a sign to Nineveh of His intentions.

Paul suggests sin is doing things you know in faith you should not do.
John suggests the good you know you should do, yet refuse is also sin.

These views were to convict those who walk righteously to be careful they do not push things
too far. The argument is being used here as if these very statements deny walking righteously
is possible in the Spirit. It is clear if you listen to scripture, it is assumed Gods people walk
righteously, as holy, pure people seeking good and not evil.

If one wants one can turn things so obedient walking is impossible, but that is not my heart,
or my experience. The real problem is service and appropriate responses, like on this forum and
when those who appear sheep are something else and only intend destruction and upset not
growth and love.

There is a sad reality here. Whatever you wish to call me is fine by my except when I am repeating a post which implies I am not following Jesus, I will not agree with this.
That does not give you the right to change someone's post, Peter. You changed it because you don't want people to know you were banned and snuck back in under a new name. Simple as that.

Hi budman,

I share why I do things, you can project what you want, it does not bother me.
Somehow you think I care deeply about how little regard you have for scripture
or me, when all I am concerned about is witnessing to Jesus, Amen.

Imagination

It takes little imagination to believe those concerned with knocking down others just share this.
It is what their contributions are full of.

Jesus came with life and victory through the cross. Much of what He shared did not seem fully right
until He had died, empowering the very words and goals He called all to follow.

Jesus did not get His disciples to record His sayings etc. because without the Holy Spirit and putting
things in the right context none of it makes sense. This is equally true today. A phrase does not fit
right because the total model has failed in some important aspect.

And as is clear sharing here, without a heart transformation talking about love flowing from ones
heart is just words, which do not chime with others.

I knew of a testimony of a man who knew of Jesus, but it never got further than this. Things changed
when his father was diagnosed with cancer, and love that was hidden started to be expressed between
father and son. The man began to see Jesus and His love expressed from the Father to Him and how
the cross met His need, and so coming to faith was a simple step. So unless ones heart has been touched
I am just sharing words, and they do not mean anything. God bless you.

I cannot bring people to a heart change point, only they can, by opening up and asking Jesus to come in
and eat with them. Amen

I'm so enjoying my study in Philippians. All about the joy we can have even during our trials and tribulations. The Righteousness of our Lord and Savior and the seal of the HS our Comforter is an awesome business

what are these words describing sins' degrees friend? can you share it with me. i would be blessed by it

Lord lead us into all truth help us solve this issue
=====================================================================
the least is an 'accidental sin' - kind of like taking an ink pen without realizing it -

the worst is called a 'high-handed sin', this is when God tells you something directly
and you refuse to do it -

there are several 'in-tween', will look for the list which is scattered in Lev.

thanks for asking...

I pray for you and your son. The longer I live the more I understand "letting go and letting God." I usually try and fix my problems instead of giving the issue over to the Lord from the start. I'm an impatient person so "waiting on the Lord" is a very difficult thing for me. But I'm learning.

Not sure why you keep accusing dcon of lying to the Holy Spirit, but the Lord does not forsake His saints/they are preserved forever (Psalm 37:28); ..preserved in Jesus Christ (Jude 1:1); ..give them eternal life/never perish/no one can snatch them from My hand (John 10:27-29); ..and whom He justified, these He also glorified (Romans 8:30); sealed with the Holy Spirit/who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession/unto the day of redemption (Ephesians 1:13-14; 4:30) etc.. is not a man made doctrine. *NOWHERE does the Bible specifically say "lose or lost salvation." Works-salvationists in general who attend various false religions and cults, including Roman Catholicism, Mormonism, Campbellism, Seventh Day Adventism etc.. ALL unanimously teach that a genuine born again Christian can "lose their salvation," which has always been a red flag for me.

Don't forget there are 3 tenses to salvation that often get mixed up by works-salvationisints. 1. We have been saved from the PENALTY of sin (justification) 2. We are being saved from the POWER of sin (ongoing sanctification) 3. We will be saved from the PRESENCE of sin (final sanctification or glorification) Waiting for Jesus is descriptive of genuine believers. Believers are initially sanctified/set apart in which we are made holy in standing before God positionally in Christ. 1 Corinthians 6:11 - Such were some of you; but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God. Yet in regards to practical, progressive holiness in which the reality of that holiness becomes more and more evident in our actions, words, thoughts, attitudes, and motives is the process of ongoing sanctification. Our hears are purified by faith. (Acts 15:9) In Hebrews 10:10, we read - "..sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all" (Hebrews 10:10) and in verse 14, we read, "perfected for all time those who are sanctified."

There is nothing wrong with Hebrews 9:26-28. Unbelievers will be judged and condemned and some (like the scribes and Pharisees who Jesus is addressing in Matthew 23:14) will receive greater condemnation. For believers, we will be judged (not to be condemned - John 3:18) but our works will be judged to determine rewards and loss of rewards (1 Corinthians 3:11-15). So once again, waiting for Him is descriptive of genuine believers. You must not confuse descriptive passages of scripture with prescriptive passages of scripture.
Amen brother..........the truth is the truth

You didn't answer the question. All you did was brag yourself up.

Again: Are you now saved?

Yes or no will do.

I can only discern the spirit through the spirit and not through the OSAS lens which CLAIMS to have a FAITH ALONE that ONCE and ALWAYS save them even if they would lie to the HOLY SPIRIT.

YES, i was JUSTIFIED through FAITH(a LIVING Faith not DEAD) and I have a LIVING Hope that God will SAVE me from His coming WRATH which would come on those who are DISOBEDIENT.(Ephesians 5:6)

I do not disregard God's AUTHORITY on my SALVATION. If i do not REMAIN IN HIM, He will not REMAIN in me. If I turn away from Him and ABANDON the FAITH to follow DECEIVING spirits and things taught by demons such as DISOBEDIENCE TO GOD and lieing to the HOLY SPIRIT which caused the DEATH of man (ADAM and EVE, ANANIAS and SAPPHIRA are good examples)

A Christian who BELONGS in the body of Christ should be LIVING in LOVE and WALKING as Jesus did, and this is LOVE; "THAT WE WALK IN OBEDIENCE TO HIS COMMANDS." They should not RUN AHEAD(2 John 1:7-13) but instead, just as Paul said...

...Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already been made perfect, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. All of us who are mature should take such a view of things. And if on some point you think differently, that too God will make clear to you. Only let us live up to what we have already attained. Philippians 3:12-16 Pressing on Toward the Goal

It is the BODY OF CHRIST which was SANCTIFIED, PERFECTED, GLORIFIED, which will not perish, will not decay, see death or die, incorruptible, will not be condemned and WILL BE SAVED by Jesus Christ when He comes. It will be presented to Him as a PURE VIRGIN.

...I am jealous for you with a godly jealousy. I promised you to one husband, to Christ, so that I might present you as a pure virgin to him. But I am afraid that just as Eve was deceived by the serpent’s cunning, your minds may somehow be led astray from your sincere and pure devotion to Christ. 2 Corinthians 11:2-3

...It is God’s will that you should be sanctified: that you should avoid sexual immorality; that each of you should learn to control his own body in a way that is holy and honorable, not in passionate lust like the heathen, who do not know God; and that in this matter no one should wrong his brother or take advantage of him. The Lord will punish men for all such sins, as we have already told you and warned you. For God did not call us to be impure, but to live a holy life. Therefore, he who rejects this instruction does not reject man but God, who gives you his Holy Spirit. 1 Thessalonians 4:3-8

... The Son of Man will send out his angels, and THEY WILL WEED OUT OF HIS KINGDOM EVERYTHING THAT CAUSES SIN AND ALL WHO DO EVIL. They will THROW THEM INTO THE FIERY FURNACE, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. Then the righteous will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears, let him hear. Matthew 13:41-43

...But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars—their place will be in the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death.” Revelation 21:8

...See to it that you do not refuse him who speaks. If they did not escape when they refused him who warned them on earth, how much less will we, if we turn away from him who warns us from heaven? Hebrews 12:25

If you don't mind me saying something here:

I remember this portion of a debate on a movie I watched:

Atheist: Wasn't the Bible written by man?

Christian: Yes it was!

Atheist: Then how is it the word of God?

Unfortunately, the person being asked this wasn't able to answer that. But, we all know the Holy Spirit breathed upon the word in which the men wrote. It was all ordained by God.

My answer would have been John 1:1 ---- > In the beginning the Word already existed. The Word was with God, and the Word was God.
My answer.....

For no prophecy was ever made by an act of human will, but men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God.

All scripture is given by inspirationof God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.
