Millennials. I'm wondering, how did the term really come about? I, of course, already know it's origins thanks to the internet loaded with information. But, what you guys think of it? If you are a millennial, how does the term feel for you? If not, what is your perspective?

Who are millennials? You can come up with some fun phrases to describe a millennial. :D

Post what want really. Doesn't matter if you comment about the social side of millennials...when it comes to social media...political views. Such and such. Would love to hear anything really :)

They are the generation born from around the mid 80s to the mid 90s, coming of age after the new millennium (year 2000), hence "millenials". They have some unique characteristics from previous generations, and as a result a lot of research/literature has been done on them which you can find online.

They are members of Generation Y

Guess I'm a millennial by definition. Please don't hate me, I had no control over when I would be born. :(

How in heaven's name can I blame millenials for what my generation gave them as an inheritance?

I'm a mother and a grandmommy. I see plenty of mistakes I've made, the carnal influence the world has made, the public school's blunders, even errors the church has made that's created problems my adult children (millennials) now struggle to overcome. Nevertheless, I'm so happy and blessed how God is using my awesome kids to make this world a better, brighter, more loving place. I watch as my grandchildren are affected by their parents' miscalculations and the world's evil influence. Just as I was affected by my parents' and foster parents' mistakes and the influence of the world. Nevertheless, all my grandsons are so filled with love, wisdom, and joy, just hearing their sweet voices make my heart skip a beat!

My heartfelt prayers to the millennials! I ain't got no stone to throw at 'em. I absolutely love their exuberance, their personal strengths, their fortitude, and their unique creative talents and contributions to life. They are a rare breed having to deal with the topsy-turvy world we handed over to them.

Of course they'll make mistakes as we did (and as we still do!). They also accomplish much for the kingdom of God. Just look at the millennials on this site!

It's just as God's Word says: He's pouring out His Spirit on young people with visions and prophecies. (Acts 12) \:giggle:/

Also I love that young people have such a ridiculous sense of humor. My kids and the young people on this site make me laugh so hard, it is literally medicine to my soul.:ROFL:

Hi! I am a millennial too. I think it's a huge blessing and responsibility to be a Christian millennial. There are many from our generation that have lost hope in God. Many try to find fulfillment and lasting joy in other things, people or ways of thinking. Then there's the other half that does believe in God but they have wandered in their thinking. They are not on the straight and narrow path and believe in things that the Bible speaks against.
These people need love. It is our job as Christians to show them the light we reflect from our Father. When they see this light it plants a seed. So if you look at it that way...Christian millennials have a large opportunity to witness to those in our generation. We have some hard work ahead of us...but as long as we depend on God for our strength we can accomplish his goals for us. ;)

Ohh myyy....I'm not a millennial then!? Must be from Gen Z....
Gen Z?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Generation_Z

The plus side to Gen Z is that they are not the worst. Millenials are the worst. :p
Millennials are worse? Are you sure you got your facts straight? :p

Maybe baby boomers were the worst? I can't remember. We gen x'ers can't be the worst. We're lazy slackers.

Hello, LadyInWaiting! Thanks for dropping by :) I really loved what you have said. At least there is some hope to be found...and yes, I really do agree with what you have said. There is something they’re searching for...to fulfil their lives. I mean, they‘re like they’re caught at a crossroads, really. With the pressure of social media...the evolution of culture....things have changed. I really feel called to reach out to the millenials and those also from my generation. I’m glad you have a mindset of shedding the light inside of us. Way to go! Thank you for this post :)

Well there is no agreed "formula" so you could be, just redefine it for yourself, no one will know.:D
