Maybe you truly haven't heard the One True Gospel unto Salvation. Here it is:

Note that it has ZERO to do with OUR works, but 100% Jesus' work.

1 Corinthians 15:1-7 New King James Version (NKJV)
The Risen Christ, Faith’s Reality
15 Moreover, brethren, I DECLARE to you THE gospel which I preached to you, which also you received and in which you stand, 2 by which also you are saved, if you hold fast that word which I preached to you—unless you believed in vain.

3 For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4 and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures, 5 and that He was seen by [a]Cephas, then by the twelve. 6 After that He was seen by over five hundred brethren at once, of whom the greater part remain to the present, but some have [b]fallen asleep. 7 After that He was seen by James, then by all the apostles.

Romans 10:9-10 King James Version (KJV)
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Now this is what Paul says about those that preach a DIFFERENT gospel, which is NO gospel at all!

Galatians 1:8-9 King James Version (KJV)
8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.

9 As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.

Do YOU want to be accursed? STOP preaching a different gospel!

The Bible tells us why God saves those He saves and not others. Those who God saves want to know Him more than they want anything else (Jeremiah 29:13; Deut 4:29; 1 Chronicles 28:9; John 12:25; Mark 8:35; Luke 14:26). Those saved humbled themselves and admit they are sinners, and they forgive others (2 Chronicles 7:14; James 4:10; Acts 26:20; Matt 5:7; 6:14, 15). They love God, they believe, obey, confess and repent (John 14:23; Romans 10:10; Acts 2:38; Acts 5:32; 10:44; 11:14; 19:2). They hear the truth and want to be reconciled to God so much so that they get forceful about it. They do not give up, give out, or give in. They stop doubting. They submit to God. They resist the devil (Matt 11:12; Luke 8:4-15; 11:7-8; 16:16; John 14:9; 20:27; James 4:7). They get Jesus’ teachings and they practice doing everything he says. (Luke 8:21; Luke 11:28; John 13:17; 15:14; Matthew 7:24; James 1:22.) They called out to the Lord to save them (Romans 10:13). They live on every word of God (Matt 4:4; 2 Pet 1:5; 3:18). They trust God and are perfected in his love (Psalm 118:6; Proverbs 3:5; Jeremiah 17:7; 1 John 4:12; 4:18; Romans 5:5; 8:15; 10:11). They overcome this world by faith in Jesus and obedience to his word (Genesis 32:28; 1 John 5:5; Revelation 21:7).

Paul is upset that the Galatians were talked into the purification works of the old law, like circumcision and the observance of special days. Do you really think that Paul was upset that the Galatians thought their obedience to Jesus meant more than it did?!
No.....Paul was INSPIRED to teach against beginning in the spirit (faith) and believing in was finished by the flesh (works) get your facts straight pal.....the bible does not teach a faith works blend for salvation........faith and trust into the cross of Christ it what saves a man before ONE WORK is ever done.... anything, everything beyond initial saving faith is/are thr results of the salvation by grace through faith that one already possesses ETERNALLY IN Christ as a free GIFT......YOUR CONFLATED dogma saves no one and is void of power by embellishing faith with self effort!

To enter his rest WE MUST CEASE FROM OUR OWN LABOR!!

Paul is preaching no works of the law which is CIRCUMCISION.

Paul would not ever preach against Jesus who says obey and he will live in you.

What about those who have been battered in life and the church and can't believe or struggle to believe that Jesus has forgiven them.

What would you say to such people in your church who seek your help?

I am not disputing sacrifices, I am telling you for that verse you had the source of the blood wrong. You also said we do not have to study the Hebrew and the point I was trying to make was that if you understood the Hebrew you would have known you are making a mistake. The Hebrew (just like the English) is still relevant to us today.
Same is true with the Koine Greek N.T....many nuances and Greek verb tenses that cannot or do not come across in the English translations.....but hey....when one conflates the Old with the New, while denying rhe fact that the words kf Jesus must be viewed from the perspective of one that was born, lived and died under the law which ratified the NEW COVENANT OF GRACE......

Saved eternally by faith

Anything beyond faith <-> the results of the salvation and faith one already possesses in Christ

I like pretty things...it makes me feel nice.

The verses were Matthew 7:24-27.
I wonder if everyone here knows that OSAS didn't even exist till about 500 years ago....
It's not only a new doctrine, but I feel it's a very corrupting doctrine to Christianity. No amount of verses will be considered by those that believe this concept....it's like we need it for some reason I don't understand. I'm a believer in eternal security if I adhere to its conditions. Believe in Jesus,,,obey His word and we will be saved. What's the problem with this??? I do believe Christianity is being watered down till one day we won't even recognize it or be different from everyone else walking this earth that do not know Christ.

Context
The Two Foundations
24“Therefore everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts on them, may be compared to a wise man who built his house on the rock.
25“And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and yet it did not fall, for it had been founded on the rock.
26“Everyone who hears these words of Mine and does not act on them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand.
27“The rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and it fell—and great was its fall.”
I do enjoy pretty things, too! :) Thanks for your reply, it helped me understand what you were saying. :)

Interesting.... I really wasn't familiar with Once Saved Always Saved (OSAS) until joining CC.

Do you feel OSAS is a corrupting doctrine because it seems like a "false sense" of security and you're concerned that people might fall into the trap of thinking they're saved but are not?

Sorry if people are not considering your Matthew 7:24-25 verses about two foundations. I'll consider them....

I looked at the whole story leading up to the two foundations. These are my thoughts:

Matthew 7:21 King James Version (KJV)
21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

This is kind of scary because they are calling Yeshua/Jesus "Lord" yet, they do not get to enter the kingdom of heaven. So, it appears it is VERY IMPORTANT to understand what He means by "he that does the will of My Father in heaven."

What is the "Will of the Father" in regards to entering the kingdom of heaven?

I think the answer is found in John 3:16 and also, the conversation between Yeshua and Nicodemus because the Father's Will is always accomplished with His Word and His Spirit.

The Blood of Yeshua/Jesus saves us from our sins by washing them away completely;

The Body of Yeshua/Jesus is the human fulfillment of the Law which is His Righteousness that He gives us;

Then, we get the Promise of the Father - The Spirit of Truth - The Holy Spirit. Yeshua/Jesus baptizes us with it. The Holy Spirit indwells us, seals us and we become born again - of water and Spirit. The washing of the water of the Word and the Holy Spirit.

Some might say the Water Baptism and the Holy Spirit Baptism.

John 3:16-17 King James Version (KJV)
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

John 3:1-5 King James Version (KJV)
3 There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews:

2 The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him.

3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

4 Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?

5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

-----------------------------------

Matthew 7:22-23 King James Version (KJV)
22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

It is the Father's Will that both - His Word and His Spirit indwell us. We cannot do the Father's Will without both - Yeshua/Jesus AND the Holy Spirit.

Otherwise, we're just doing a bunch of 'good works' according to human reasoning that are not the Father's Will. These are "works of iniquity." These works just feed our ego/flesh and do nothing for the kingdom of heaven.

I'm a believer in eternal security if I adhere to its conditions. Believe in Jesus,,,obey His word and we will be saved. What's the problem with this???
When you refer to adhering to the conditions of eternal security, you define these conditions as being:
- Believe in Jesus and
- Obey His (Jesus) word.

I think the problem is that when you say "obey His word," it sounds as if you are saying that "works are required by us to complete Yeshua/Jesus saving us," which is not what scripture says.

Yeshua/Jesus (as all authority of the Word of God and with all the power of God which is the Holy Spirit, without measure) completed every work necessary for our salvation.

Now, the Father wants us to receive what has been done for us.

He wants us to be cleansed from sin with Yeshua/Jesus' Blood, imputed with Yeshua/Jesus' Righteousness by His Body and full of the Holy Spirit - being born again so, we can walk in His authority and power making us able to do the Father's Will and by so doing, enter the kingdom of heaven.

Matthew 7:24-27 King James Version (KJV)
24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:

25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.

26 And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:

27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.

So, we need to hear the Word of God and do it! But, remember we can't do it without the Holy Spirit. Otherwise, we're just doing good works according to the flesh which is sand. We want to do works that are according to the Father's Will, which require His Word and His Spirit.

Well, I wrote a long post. I hope you read it. I hope someone reads it........lol! :giggle: I know I often jump over long posts......lol! :giggle:

Faith that trusts in Christ alone for salvation and not in works saves (Ephesians 2:8,9). An empty profession of faith/dead faith that remains alone - "barren of works" does not save. (James 2:14) Until you understand the difference and place your faith (belief, trust, reliance) in Jesus Christ alone for salvation, you will remain on this merry go round of works salvation.
100% truth right here.......
