Circumspect….
Sometimes, I fuss about rejection related issues, tsk tsk and bless my heart, Hahaha…
But you know…
We should love everyone, but we should be circumspect with whom we choose to give our very valuable energy and resources to. There really only is so much time in a day; Our Lord deserves so much of it. Time given to our loves is essential as well. Yes, we should cut out time to serve and to give, but we must also take time to restore and to renew. It is good for us. As I have been working this week, connecting with amazing client friends, not to mention spending quality time with family, I can't help but reflect on how quickly time goes by. Why it is so important to spend time with those we appreciate, and with those who appreciate us, and why time alone with God in the early morning brings renewing life and nutrients to our souls.
I never really understood this verse…
"Do not give what is holy to dogs, and do not throw your pearls before swine, or they will trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you to pieces.
Matthew 7:6 NASB
I thought it harsh, and so judgemental. But actually the verses just before it give us clarity.
For in the way you judge, you will be judged; and by your standard of measure, it will be measured to you. Why do you look at the speck that is in your brother's eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, 'Let me take the speck out of your eye,' and behold, the log is in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother's eye.
Matthew 7:2-5 NASB
It is about how hanging around judgemental hypocrites can tarnish our well-being. What God gives to pay-forward is so precious; it should be managed well, and given to those humble enough to receive Him and His love. We are stewards and we are temples of the Holy Spirit. We shouldn't be haughty or hangout with those that are, for that is not the way of the Great Almighty.
Don't get me wrong.. I am just working through these verses so if I sound like I have it all figured out, then my words were poorly managed. My Lord is my Salvation and my Rock. My assurances and security are also His.
So yeah...let us love and give well, but let us not take the Lord God who dwells within lightly. Let us not be beggers for attention or acceptance as though we haven't been filled with all His Grace and Acceptance already. He is so much more than sufficient. He is so much more than enough!!!
Life is such an amazing and beautiful Blessing, when the life we have is His.
