Feminism and misogyny are to me destructive responses to a system of poor behavior and established thoughts of the “it is us against them” mentality.
And that should tell us that both attitudes are instigated by Satan.

The Bible is very clear about the roles of CHRISTIAN men and women in the home and in the local church. Which includes (a) submission by wives to husbands and (b) sacrificial love of husbands to wives. It would appear that the teachings of the Bible have not really been brought out fully within the churches.

Many Christians women today hate the word "submission", since they would prefer to be the boss in the home (and many are in fact). Some believe that they should have leadership and pastoral roles within the churches in opposition to God and the Bible. Also Christian men have not been taught to exercise their leadership in a godly manner, and therefore think that browbeating is the same as leadership.

At the same time Feminism was (and is) an all-out declaration of war against Bible principles. Add to that the constant putting down of men or women in the common culture. Therefore there is constant warfare between the sexes.

It's said that the Church is the only army that shoots its own wounded. That saying is incomplete... we shoot those who disagree with us. We aren't going to get stronger by succumbing to divisive strategies from the enemy. Any teaching that separates full members of the Church from one another is serving the enemy's purpose. There is room to disagree respectfully, but feminism, gynocentrism, patriarchy, misandry, misogyny, and any other permutation of gender preference all work against the unity of the Church. Respectful disagreement gets lost when we conflate "those who disagree with my understanding of things" with "the unsaved masses who rebel against God's truth".

We need to remember who the enemy is, and train our weapons in that direction rather than at each other.

I couldn't agree more, after all the bride of Christ (body of His, represented by women) and Christ, (represented by man, if I am understanding correctly), is to be united eternally. I think it wonderful that women are to learn and accept submission to authority, and for men to grasp the responsibility that goes with their authority and love greatly because of it. I believe that kind of humility by both genders helps us connect with and serve our Lord and Savior, as well as each other.

For sure!!! We, together, Christian men and women must not allow satan's tactics to penetrate our calling to love, to serve, and to forgive as we are called.

There was a thread I was told about regarding men and women's roles and traditions. I wasn't much interested that day. Todays thread goes along similar lines.

The first things they gave me in boot camp was a sewing kit. A tooth brush to clean porcelain with. Bedding etc. They taught us how to follow orders and work together. We had to be taught how to do most everything over again. We also had to set aside gender stereotypes because there were no women to rely on in the field. Men can cook, clean, sew up wounds just as well as women. We can follow also. Men must get over thinking we are leaders but become consigned to be followers of Christ and share the burden with our kinder gentler gender. I think we are all the bride of Christ.

Misogyny - hatred of miso soup
Feminists - followers of Femin, who often at odds with Calvinists who claim its men who were elected first.

In regards to women. Women were Gods final creation. So He saved the best for last. Also remember the first shall be last and the last shall be first. I dont think women ought to feel they are second best or an after thought, they are placed on this earth for a reason. If God had not created woman, Adam would have been helpless. And lonely....

I see that all the time. If all the women left the church, and it was men only, do you think much would get done? What would it be like?
The interesting thing is the holy spirit is called 'the comforter' and 'the helper'. The thing about the holy spirit is one cant see the holy spirit in the flesh. But the manifestation of the holy spirit has so many feminine properties (think of all the fruits the holy spirit has...are men naturally gentle? No very often they are rude and rough! ) that one could be forgiven for thinking well men are making such a mess of this world they need an invisible woman dwelling inside them all the time because they need help! And some miso soup.

Thank you Lord!

The moment we are either resurrected or caught up, we are no longer separated by gender, we are 100% equally the same. I personally feel the KJV Bible in many places reveal the opinion of King James himself. I also feel many places have been written in to be specifically male dominated. Look at the RCC and the Catholic Church today, absolutely male dominated with a few women here and there mentioned for whatever purpose that Church has intended for. But the RCC also has been much like King James, as in, we can see personal views added to scripture.

Now, this does not take away the fact ancient cultures and civilizations have put man on a pedal stool (Pharaoh's were considered a god, kings were considered a god, etc). Does not remove from the fact that even in the 1700's -1800's as ships docked on the United States shore, passengers were listed in the adult males name (Jon Doe - carpenter - 8 souls (wife and children)). Women were property to men like land was until the recent past 100 years or so. It is what is was!!

But I still go back to the moment when we are either resurrected or caught away. It's this very moment when gender ceases to exist. This is another confirmation of why Eve came from the rib of Adam, not his foot. Male/female were to be side by side.

So, when I ultimately see someone placing specific gender before the other (I only accept 2 genders male - female/ none of this queer crap), I see someone extremely weak minded. Sadly, we have had way too many weak minded leaders in the church, and it appears that today is no different than 5,000 years ago :(

Where can I get one of those? It sounds like fun... or at least a good way to exercise while puttering in the shop....

I personally feel the KJV Bible in many places reveal the opinion of King James himself.
Perhaps in minor details, such as maintaining ecclesiastical terms which were already in usage. However, the translators made sure that only what was in the Hebrew and Greek was faithfully translated. They had too much fear and reverence for God to fool around and tamper with the Bible.

And this really has nothing to do with the OP. God's instructions to both Christian men and women are very clear.

Several decades ago I was made to feel bad for saying the "wrong word." I addressed a coupld of ladies as ladies.. Immediately I was rebuked for not calling them women. For a moment I felt bed but then I relized they were being just a bit on the thin-sknned side.

I informed them that in my house to address a woman as a lady is the highest of compliments one could employ and I cannot apologize for honoring my parents and family by continuing such.

They would have none of it...……...I still belive calling a female a lady is a good thing…..perhaps I am just wicked?
I understand, brother. Everywhere I go, I say hello to folks I meet along the way. In fact, I often times address them, too. "Good afternoon, gentlemen," or "Hello, ladies," or, "Good morning, ladies and gents." Several times I have heard men reply with an arrogant laugh, "Gentlemen? I'm no gentleman." As if it was a curse to be a gentleman! I don't understand that. Oddly, it is only older men who have said this. Young men always respond to me with politeness.

As for women's equality..……...socially theyy are in my eyes totally equal. I dislike aqnyone who puts one person over another, but I pray for them and all too...

Me, too! I say, "ma'am" or "sir" to waiters, clerks, cashiers, public servants, etc. no matter if they're young or old. :giggle:

As an old enough man, we laugh at kind complements because we know we are/were nothing like gentlemen sometimes. I came time to be crass and direct because we knew know other way. Let me explain something about auto mechanics to you as a object story.

A lady had a car. It needed a break job. The rotors (discs) had gotten too hot and welded themselves to the axles. The wheels couldn't come off. We broke 2 big slide hammers and 2 fingers removing the first rotor (brake disc). Our fingers were broken and we had welded tools back together and a know it all tried to do it … he was more careful. He just flattened an index finger nail. Ouch!

It didn't save anything to rush into it. We were just being stubborn and trying to outdo each other.

Do we ever hit our selves with a hammer while trying to fix a mistake? Out of pride? Scripturally? I do! I admit it!

I don’t think that anyone could disagree with the title. Here’s where we get into the meat of the issue. I believe that it is a circle. I think that failure to serve, birthed feminism and misogyny. From there it fed on eachother. Instead of embracing the strengths of self and celebrating the strengths of others, our lack of appreciation for individual giftedness caused competition where God intended aliance. Although men think the efforts of their hands build a greater tomorrow but it isn’t. It is the passing on of ideas and integrity to the next generation that empowers them to build a greater tomorrow. Instead of laying a foundation and preparing the bricks and mortar, both essential for structure, we chose to make a generation of bricks. There is nothing to fill the gaps, giving solidification. Men are competitive by nature, as God designed. The greater the competitor, the more testosterone released, causing aggression and violence. Today’s woman has placed herself in opposition against man for position in society and often the home. This is the cause of misogyny. Not only is this destructive immediately, but boys and girls have no role model. They have no gender specification to emulate. Our sexuality ties to our identity. In the animal kingdom, weaker, lesser than alpha males, are not awarded copulatory rights. Therefore species stay strong. Our society celebrates homosexuality and further blends the gender roles. Is it no surprise that the Goat of Mendes, Satanic symbol is a hermaphrodite.
Thank you for deep wisdom. I have read a few of your comments on the topic of Alpha males and the depth of it that we need to embrace more than push away. Gods design.. I was wanting to contact you on my thoughts on this, but my subscription is still waiting to be approved for private messages so meantime I’ll wait. Would love to have a conversation on this with thoughts I’d like to share and hear your opinion on.
Thank you 🙂

There's something offsetting in the ongoing attempt to emulate the kingdom of animals.

I had to share again, because I see the sexist attitudes running a muck again. I hope you all don't mind. Thank you for reading...

I reckon this has been and will continue to be an issue amongst genders since that proverbial bite was taken. I see it everywhere, and it starts when we are young and seems to continue all the way to death. You see it on the playground, you see it in locker room settings, you see it in relationships, everywhere we go there are prejudices and generalizations. While some notions possess truth, the conclusions drawn for an entire gender can be destructive and toxic.

Sure, we have different roles, different predominant hormones, as well as varying characteristics. The natural qualities that may be inherent to most men give them their strengths, and with women the same is true. We also each have weaknesses that can benefit from the balance the other can provide.

Sure, as children we are learning how to be, and as we grow some take much longer, even half their lives or more coming to realize what being a quality man or woman of valor really looks like, as well as the value of that heightened condition in the first place.

We all know that my point is going to lead to what it takes to be a woman or man of God. I am not going to pitch myself nice and tidy on a throne of self righteousness. I fall short plenty. I never considered myself a woman of class, not until I realized who I belong to. I would like to present that while our roles are different, we all would serve each other and ourselves by remembering the positional core of integrity, of love and respect, should be exactly the same; our end goal, regardless, should be to bring Glory and Honor to our Lord and Saviour.

Not only should this drive our desire to step up to the plate in a manner that edifies, but also to think in a manner and treat each other in a way that pleases our God.

Feminism and misogyny are to me destructive responses to a system of poor behavior and established thoughts of the “it is us against them” mentality. Sure, I understand how these standards and ideas evolved and why people feel it necessary to grow and or protect our rights as a group and individually.

But as I see many men, including Christian ones, have what seem to be a contempt for women, and woman possessing a fairly unattractive opinions of their opposite sex, I want to scratch my head in frustration.

We all need to serve one another, work together, love one another. Do what we are called to do, prizing the gifts we are given in one another. Let us show integrity and strength of character regardless our biological differences. I am not suggesting gender neutrality. I really appreciate His awesome design. I think a man of God is one to be respected and a woman of God to be adored. Actually, young, old, male or woman, no matter anything, let's not put forth treatment and frames of mind that stumble our growth as a society, as brothers and sisters, and as individuals.

Now here is where it gets tricky…

If we find ourselves dealing with someone who seems to have put us in a unbecoming box, let's make sure we try harder for ourselves and our loves to just smile, and be who we are called to be, merciful, even noble. We gain nothing in trying to alter a narrow mind by seeking to rearrange their perceptions through verbal discourse (like I am doing now, lol). It isn't them we need to change. Our own actions, our own thoughts, they need to be so full of genuine substance and grace that maybe others will see the truth of what He says… In Him, there is no difference...In Him, we are all the same.
Since my childhood I have been observing human beings and came to the following conclusion: Virtues and flaws of character are evenly distributed between men and women, so I have no reason to be sexist.
