So i am usually tired and ready to sleep by the time I get to CC nowadays. But even if not, I like to use the "Poke" button to say "hi" to friends.
A few times over the last few weeks, i have had aquintences or people I thought were friends get really rude, downright hateful when I say Hi in this way,
Their argument is this - I add what they don't actually say, but infer, which leads me to believe the unloving, rude response i get is calculated by some petty people:
"CC is a secular hook-up site where people come to meet and plan elicit sex. The poke button is how you initiate an elicit affair here. It has nothing to do with saying hi good-heartedly to friends or nudging them. So projecting that on you, I will now use this unspoken fiction as an excuse to get some of my rude-rocks on a friendly person. There, I got my rudeness out and in the process told you that you are a flirt, that I am not interested, and have boosted my ego while attempting to shame, squash and bully you, lower you. Bad for me!!"
This to me is a feminist, or just spoiled-rotten-generation, petty little hate trap- like a woman slapping a man for holding a door open for her or just sneering at a man for smiling. Pretty sick way of people inventing a way to be a bully disguised as a victim.
