I so want to explain the dilemma in my thinking, why it tossed me about, how finding harmony in the scriptures is of vital importance...yada yada but this isn't written to try and help you see into my mind, and why I think you should accept or extend mercy, lol. Ewwww@my self centeredness. This is about Him and His Principles.
• The Kingdom of God is of great significance and supremacy
• His Commandments bring Him Glory and our rest.
• The Journey into and through the kingdom. requires equipping
• He is the equipper
• The salvation we seek belongs 100% to Him
• He saves us and He keeps us...it is His Kingdom
• The Kingdom dwells in His sacrificial love.
• He and His Kingdom are Holy
The Torah, actually the entire Old Testament, and New Testament do not oppose each other, nor does His truth. They both point to the Kingdom. They both point to the King.
The mission of salvation starts and ends with Him, the Alpha and the Omega. He brings us home.
This is true…
I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have set before you life and death, the blessing and the curse. So choose life in order that you may live, you and your descendants, by loving the Lord your God, by obeying His voice, and by holding fast to Him; for this is your life and the length of your days, that you may live in the land which the Lord swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give them."
Deuteronomy 30:19-20 NASB
So is this…
And although you were formerly alienated and hostile in mind, engaged in evil deeds, yet He has now reconciled you in His fleshly body through death, in order to present you before Him holy and blameless and beyond reproach- if indeed you continue in the faith firmly established and steadfast, and not moved away from the hope of the gospel that you have heard, which was proclaimed in all creation under heaven, and of which I, Paul, was made a minister.
Colossians 1:21-23 NASB
We are called to work, to obey, but not to fret over keeping our salvation because it is He that supplies our efforts, not of ourselves…
For this purpose also I labor, striving according to His power, which mightily works within me. Colossians 1:29 NASB
Ours is merely to know who holds the power, the key, but even that, the knowing, He manifests through His grace..
For through the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think more highly of himself than he ought to think; but to think so as to have sound judgment, as God has allotted to each a measure of faith.
Romans 12:3 NASB
None of this is intended to confuse us, hinder us. The work done by us, is only a product of the worker in us… Christ Himself.
But by His doing you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification, and redemption, so that, just as it is written, " Let him who boasts, boast in the Lord ."
1 Corinthians 1:30-31 NASB
So yes we stand firm in HIS victory, being ambassadors for the King, by resting securely at His feet.
Lord, forgive and remove from me any understanding or confusion that does not align with Your will, Your truth, with You and Your Kingdom. Thank You for all You are and for all YOU do.
