oh my! I want pizza!
It looked like there were boxes of leftover Idaho Pizza Conpany pizza from a party this morning. They use the old Roundtable recipes and suppliers from years back. It’s tasty stuff.

I can mail you some. 😛

Hi Gracie, interesting subject!

Hmm... I don't know about "popular" -- personally, I tend to think of myself as a troll who's built a campfire under the bridge and just won't leave. :)

Seriously, I think my definition of what "popular" means has definitely changed over the years. To me, popular could have many definitions, but in the case of a forum like this, I tend to think of "popular" as just meaning that several people recognize your posts and possibly personality and writing style because you've spent a lot of time putting yourself out there.

There are always drawbacks, too. The more people that are familiar with your posts, the more criticism you're likely going to get, so there can be a few unexpected side effects.

Before CC changed to this format, there was an option that some people believed they could use to send any kind of comment they wanted to someone anonymously (but the mods could see who it was), which unfortunately led to some abusive situations.

The more people read your posts, the more vocal they might be about how you should post, what you should post, and whether or not you should even be posting.

My favorite thing about CC is when I can find good-natured people whom I can joke and banter with, and when I find someone like that, I tend to keep cracking jokes directed towards them because I know they're not going to blow up about it. This has often led to people accusing me of trying to form cliques, because I keep going back to the same people.

In truth, there are lots of people I see on the forum and want to get to know better/start joking with, but I don't know them as well so I don't say anything because I don't want to risk offending them.

It's awesome to find people you can laugh, joke, and talk with, but (and this might just be me), it takes A LOT of work (the friendships I've been blessed to make here have taken many years and many well-spent hours of communication), and a lot of bracing yourself for the times when you get blasted, which is pretty much inevitable as more people see more of your posts.
You are certainly popular in my book and an awesome writer too. :)

Hmm... am I popular here on the forum?

Well there are a few people who have blocked me, put me on ignore.

There are also some people who "follow" me, so I guess they get notified when I make a post.

My positive reactions list outweighs the negative reactions people have given me... but there are a lot more positive than negative reactions to choose from in the reactions list.

I have no idea.
You must be popular because, if your remember, when my wife found out you were a minister she asked you if you could marry us. Somehow that didn't work out so we eloped in Las Vegas. Oh, hopefully we will be moving to Gatlinburg, Tennessee within a year. I spent 3 years living in Clarksville in the early 80's when I was stationed at Fort Campbell, KY while in the army. I love Tennessee. My wife lived in Pegram and Portland, Tennessee years ago too in the early 70's. She loves the state too.

Hmmm.... this is one of those things I try not to dwell on too much. I don’t know what other people are thinking about me. My default mode is also lurker usually, and I don’t like feeling like there is much attention on me.

People may not know me too well, but I also may not be presenting many opportunities to let them get to know me. Or I don’t reach out for fear of annoying others I guess.

Guess being able to hide behind text doesn’t cure shyness.
It may not cure shyness but it can alleviate it.

!!!!!

Gatlinburg would perhaps be not the best choice in Tennessee. It's basically a really big tourist trap.

Jonesborough is a good choice for east Tennessee. Near the big city of Johnson City, but not in the big city. Pretty nice place.

Oh wait, duh! I forgot who I'm talking to. Of course "tourist" would go to the tourist trap of Gatlinburg. :p

Ne'mind.

I’m new so I don’t really know many or most of you here. I also tend to be on the quiet/private/shy side so yup I don’t feel overly popular. Not in a bad way.

Add to that the fact that of the Catholic faith. I’m not seeing very many Catholics here.

Always great to see you !!

A fellow Catholic from S.C. none the less. I could'nt find a Catholic church there. LOL... Welcome!!!

Round table pizza? Wow that brings back memories when I lived in California. One of my favorite pizza places.

Yes indeed I love this ! I absolutely believe in God and our blessed Savior. And that I may have eternal life because he bore my sins at the Cross . Amen Brother Mike 😍
Your post is well spoken and right on target.
People focus so hard on the little things and push out the big picture. God will judge the heart.

My wife spent her early years in Pee Wee Valley in Kentucky. It is near Louisville. Kentucky is another scenic state that I enjoy.

Yeah, I am sure that Gatlinburg is a tourist trap but that is what her heart is set on. Probably will settle outside of the city. Actually, I am getting tired of big cities having lived in Detroit 18 years, Orlando 20 years and almost 5 years in the Tampa / St. Petersburg metro area. Sick of the traffic and non-stop police sirens. I really need some peace and quiet. I am going to do some research on the cities that you mentioned.

Oh... no, we don't do big cities like that. Our version of big cities doesn't have the endless sirens. And (aside from downtown Nashville) our version of heavy traffic is nothing like REAL big cities.

That looks soo good...but where is the cheese?

There aint no pizza without cheese...

Some places in like Chicago and I believe New York put the sauce on top. Certain restaurants. Not too common though from what I hear
