This is what happens when someone short circuits Christianity.

You can't even imagine the Ministry of Righteousness being written on our hearts and minds.

It Has to be the ministry of Condemnation and Death because that is all you understand.
All you have proved here is your immaturity of understanding

Romans 6:14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.

How is this possible if the same law that we are not under is then written on our hearts and minds?

How can we not be under the law that is placed on our hearts and minds?

Romans 8:2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.

How are we made free from this law of sin and death if it is what is written on our hearts and minds?

This is just really simple logic that Christians should be able to understand.

You ARE under the law that is placed on your heart and mind. It is what you think about and it is in your heart.

It ISN'T the law of sin and death that is written on the Hearts and Minds of Christians. Otherwise, we could never be free from it.

Which is the goal of the Judaizer and Legalist, and apparently just the ignorant as well.

You see, it is the penalty of sin that makes you so fearful of sin, and your fear of sin produces great allurement in you to sin. If I said to you, “If you think of a pink rabbit, God will condemn you to hell,” what is the first thing you will think of if you believe me? You would try desperately never to think of such a creature, wouldn’t you? You would become agitated at the thought of a pink rabbit. You would be, animated, overwrought, disturbed, nervous, and panic stricken at the thought of the creature. You would end up in a frenzied state concerning it, I imagine. Now the more these emotions overcome you concerning the creature, the more the thought of the creature will overwhelm you; it will become irresistible. You see, however, as you know there is no penalty of condemnation in place if you think of a pink rabbit, you will not get worked up about it, will you? Paul states Romans 7:5-6:

For when we were in the realm of the flesh, the sinful passions aroused by the law were at work in us, so that we bore fruit for death. But now, by dying to what once bound us, we have been released from the law so that we serve in the new way of the Spirit, and not in the old way of the written code. (NIV)

Paul tells us the law arouses sinful passions in us when we live under it. For he goes on to say we die to the law − we have been released from the law (of righteousness) as Christians and serve in the new way of the Spirit, not the old way of the written code (the law). Why does he say the law arouses sinful passions for those living under it?

Well, you see, the same emotions that would overcome you at the thought of a pink rabbit, if you believed such thoughts could condemn you, would also overcome you where sin is concerned if you live under the law. The penalty for sin is in place if you live under the law, isn’t it? Your sin, therefore can condemn you to hell. You would be extremely agitated at the thought of sin. You would be animated, overwrought, disturbed, nervous, and panic stricken at the thought of sin. Now the more these emotions concerning sin overcome you, the more sin will overwhelm you, and the more your ability to resist sin will weaken. Why is this? Because those emotions bring you to an excited state, friend. They are all bar panic-stricken definitions of the word excite. And the definition of panic-stricken is “frenzy,” and the definition of frenzy is “wild excitement.” The emotions that result from your fear of the penalty for sin bring you to a very excited (or aroused) state where sin is concerned. If you live under the law, therefore, your fear of breaking it (sin) results in sinful passions being aroused in you. That is why Paul tells us the law arouses sinful passions in us if we live under it.

It is actually even biblical instead of some philosophical fantasy.

As you said, the law points out sin. So anything the Christian could do that brings consciousness of sin is law in their heart and mind

I am confident most will understand that

The trouble with this website is, you have some people going around screaming legalism and righteousness of obeying the law anytime the law is mentioned. It is very immature, though the people doing this consider themselves able exponents of the bible

1Cor8:2 comes to mind
Fine then leave

This is a bible discussion forum, by a few posts it is obvious you have no desire to discuss. So leave like you sad you would

Your like all those people who said if trump is voted in they will move to canada, yet now after a year they still have not left. Your word, like theirs, become meaningless. Hypocritical.

No. That is wrong.

The Law points out sin. The Law will always point out sin.

If any person tries to work at the law they will have sin pointed out to them.

Its not a law that is written on their heart. Its a law that is written on stone.

Anytime a person looks to that law, no matter what is written on their heart, it will point out sin.

Christians do not have a law written in ink, or on stone, the law for them is in their hearts and minds. Therefore, anything the believe knows in their mind would be sin to do, and anything that gave them heartfelt conviction of sin if they did it, is law written in their minds and placed on their hearts. For I agree with you, the law points out sin

People imagine that the bible says certain things and they are so sure that what they imagine is the Truth.

They fight so hard for their imagination to be Truth.

But when bible verses are given and explained that show this imagination to be against the Truth they just get upset and it doesn't affect their imagination or understanding at all.

I suppose for those who have hardened their hearts it further hardens them. And for those who have understanding it is encouraging.

Christians don't know what the 10 commandments say?

Christians don't know what Matthew 5 says?

Its pretty easy to be convicted of sin.

What is not so easy is to be convicted of Righteousness.

Many Christians are not convicted of where their righteousness lies during their lives, for the basic mind of man believes he gets what he earns, he gets what he deserves. And many go to churches where righteous living is preached to a high degree, but not grace alongside it.

Growing up I used to read the bible and obviously the TC during the sermon in church(they bored me then) And I wondered why the tenth one was one of them. It seemed so trivial to me, for in those days, I believed it only concerned coveting material goods. However, once I reached puberty I instinctively knew dwelling on impure thoughts were sin, though I still did not understand what the letter of the tenth commandment fully stated. The bible is quite clear, it is not a law written in ink or on tablets of stone, but one on tablets of human hearts(2Cor3:3)

Be a good chap will you. Last night I contacted the site due to becoming quite disheartened at the level of understanding a few of you obviously have. I asked them to ban me, nothing has happened yet. As I am not going to pay 20 dollars to send a moderator a private message in this regard, could you, or anyone else who has paid it ask a mod to reban me, as I have previously had a lifetime ban from the site.
Thanks a lot

And many come on the internet, believing they are gifted teachers, there to expound the scriptures to others. In most cases, it is an overblown exaggeration. But even they have their followers

Our battle is “not” against flesh and blood. It can take a while to see that.

You don't need a ban. If you want to leave the forum--just leave. God will establish His word in the way He wants. Some on this site are here for an ego trip and it shows in their postings. Just go to the "Not by works" thread to see egos running rampant. Quit arguing with their egos, just state your case and move on.

Let me ask you. If you desire to sleep with your neighbours wife, have you committed sin?
A desire is a transitory thought. Lust is taking that transitory desire and allowing it to control your thoughts. Huge difference. Going through puberty I started having sexual thoughts about girls in my classes. The harder I fought the harder they came. I then quit fighting them and let them go to my mental trash bin. Doing so they just flicked through my mind and were gone.

Are you trying to say as a man you have never dealt with this? If your answer is no I believe you to not be telling the truth.

I grew up with the thought the law is how the OT people were taught to be righteous, only to find out that it was not the law, it was faith, hope and love. Sadly, people want things they can see, not things they can’t see, i can see the law, can lie to myself that i am onedient to it, and focus on it, or i can focus on loving and serving others and by it by practice following the law. This is how the great masters of faith did it in the OT.

People do not understand laws are not given to help people obay, they are given to prosecute those who are guilty,

Yes.

And the law written on tablets of human hearts is OBVIOUSLY different than the one written on stone.

As I have shown. Ad Naseam.

2 Corinthians 3:3-9
3 Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart.

4 And such trust have we through Christ to God-ward:

5 Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God;

6 Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.

7 But if the ministration of death, written and engraven in stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not stedfastly behold the face of Moses for the glory of his countenance; which glory was to be done away:

8 How shall not the ministration of the spirit be rather glorious?

9 For if the ministration of condemnation be glory, much more doth the ministration of righteousness exceed in glory.

Two entirely different Ministrations. Not the same ministration written in two different spots.

Two different Ministrations written in two different spots. One on stone. One on hearts of flesh.
