So as many of you know with my disability finding work is hectic and near impossible for me and it has always been something that has really bugged me but a while ago a friend read one of my poems and told me I absolutely need to do freelance writing. I only looked up a bit about it however it actually seems to be something I would not only enjoy doing but might even excel at as I am basically writing constantly being on here anyways lol.

I know that my grammar is not the best which I am sure there are free software that can help auto correct that and I am not afraid to write for several hours a day but I just wanted to check and see if anyone has any experience or knowledge about this stuff. Personally I want to write about Christian stuff but I am also willing to write about other topics

Do you have any kind of business plan Blain. Like how you will promote your writing, get people to publish it and pay you etc?

Some people start up with blogs and hope to attract followers, then advertising sponsorship - which brings in the money.

Others try writing books, magazine articles etc. You would need to establish yourself as some one interesting and worth reading, before there will be a glimmer of making money from it.

You could do with subscribing to some Christian magazines etc. To see what type of things they publish (preferably well known ones).

But if it’s in God’s plan for you He will open the doors.

Sorry for the late reply I have been a bit sick lol. I actually am joining a free lance writing group that gives step by step directions on how to do it and it even gives you updates on job offers available most starting at 20 dollars. You can pick your own hours and how many assignments you want to do and for the most part while you cannot always choose the topic you want to write on you can stay generally in the same area of topics.

It costs 45 dollars to join but if it takes off even a little I can easily make that up. There is one guy in there who joined a couple years ago having no experience like me and he now makes over 6 k a month just writing for people

So i just joined and I admit I am a little intimidated, there are plenty of good paying jobs for people who know their stuff like technology, social marketing, gardening ect. but not very many for a new freelance like me I did find one that pays per article of 500 words and I am hoping I can get that one

To become successful at this write on something that you are passionate about and understand the subject thoroughly. Your going to have to know your stuff too but I'm sure that you already know plenty of stuff. I wish you well in this endeavor. The closest that I came to becoming a professional writer was when I edited, wrote, and produced the weekly company newsletter of the company I was employed with many years ago.

Honestly the only thing I am passionate about is God and I can talk and write about him for hours but I don't know how many jobs there are for Christian writers. I could try to look into the Christian magazines but I am new at this and honestly have no idea if I can even get my foot in the door. Oh but wow just thinking about being able to just talk and write about God everyday like I do on cc except I get paid to do it, I would literally be living the phrase if you do what you love you never work a day in your life lol
