Shoot........that's ok.

I argue with myself all the time. And ONE DAY I'm gonna win.

The boy in the toy box.
There was a little boy, who had spent his

entire life living in a cramped and darkened

Toy box. The toy box didn't look like much

just a small wooden affair no colorful paint

or carvings of animals. Simple and secure.

The little boy never knew how he had got

himself into the box, for sadly he

had no idea that the toy box even existed.

Then one day he met a friend, and she opened

the lid of the toy box so the little boy was

able to sit up. For the first time in his life

he felt free.

From his sitting position within

the box he was able to speak with his friend

and play many wondrous games. They climbed

mountains, crossed deserts, navigated rivers and

found many treasures. The best treasure

was each other.

He had never felt such happiness in his life.

They spent all of their time together

and grew to love one another, something

neither one of them had ever experienced before. They had become the very best of friends and

both of them were very happy.

Unfortunately the little boy and his friend

were both unaware of the existence of the

toy box.

As time went on some of the games they enjoyed

lost a bit of the charm they once had. So they

decided to play a new game they had heard of.

They wanted to play house.

Playing house began almost as wonderful as all the other games.

But the lid of the toy box kept falling down on the

little boys head. His friend being the best of which

would reach down lift the lid, brush the dust off

of him and continue playing. All the while smiling with laughter in her heart.

Though the little boy could sit up,he could never get out of the toy box, and was unable to help

his friend do any of the chores, such as cleaning

the playroom in which they lived.

Time after time he tried to step out and help, but

each time he did, the lid of the toy box would

close on him. And it became harder and harder

for his friend to open the box once again.

Finally, the lid to the toy box slammed shut

with such force the little boys friend couldn't

open it by herself, and not knowing he was in

the toy box, the little boy was helpless to offer

assistance.

Now his friend kept playing house, and would

often try the lid to see if it had loosened somehow.

It didn't, and she felt all alone.

Though they could speak to one another the

toy box made it almost impossible to understand

what the other was saying. And the little boy

was once again trapped within.

There was very few things to do in the toy box, but the little boy knew them well. And continued on doing them.

Then one day the little boy heard his friend

talking to someone through the door of the

playroom. He started to feel the toy box closing

In around him, and he became very scared.

Over and over he tried to force his way out.

He would beg for help, crying out " please, please

I need help!!!!"

But to his astonishment every time he cried for

help, he would hear his words echo back to

him from outside the toy box.

"Please help!" sounded like " get out!" and "I love

you" turned into "leave me alone, I don't want

you anymore!"

The little boy struggled harder and harder, the

echoed words became worse with each passing

moment. Until the little boy felt so helpless

he cried out "Jesus! Help me! My friend is leaving

and I need her by my side!!!"

Instantly the lid of the toy box was lifted.

But all the little boy saw was the door to the

playroom closing behind his most cherished

friend he had ever known.

He ran to the door, but it would not open.

He called to his friend, "please come back! I'm

here now, and I love you!"

He heard her say "not yet, I will only be gone

for a little while".

He could also hear her crying as she said this.

Again he called to her " come back, I need you

I'm free now"

Through tears he heard her say "do you want me

to come back?"

The little boy answered "yes! You are my best

friend, and I need you!"

She called again, from just outside the door,

her voice was clear this time, without tears.

She said " I love you, I want to come back, but

the door is locked, and I don't have the key."

The little boy was desperate for his friend

to return. But try as he might, he too was

unable to open the door.

He called for her over and over "please

come home! It is so lonely without you!"

And from a great distance, he heard his best friend say "I'm sorry, I can't open the door, I am unable to come home."

"This is where I am now, please remember that

I love you."

The little boy turned around, and for the first

time in his life, he saw the toy box, which was

his prison for so long.

And realized it had took his friend from him.

Crying tears of anguish he collapsed on the

now empty floor. Sobbing without end, until

he finally cried himself to sleep.

He awoke with a start, thinking it had all

been a nightmare, that his friend would return

any moment.

But the bleak and lonesome room reminded

him it was all to real. The toy box sat across

the room, now empty.

The little boy looked down, and saw that he was

no longer a boy, but a man.

His best friend was more than a friend, but

his wife as well.

His heart broke, as only a mans heart could.

The man turned and called to his wife, but she

didn't answer. He tried to open the door, but

it remained locked.

Tears fell from the mans eyes, and he sat

with his back against the door, looking at

the empty toy box, wondering if he will

ever see his wife and best friend again...........

.......The man that was the little boy lifts
his .eyes to the toy box, tears falling
upon his chest. From where he sits
he can remember quite well, laying within.
Not the toy box of the mind, but the literal
box of the past. What happened? Flashes
of memories flood the mans mind..........
He doesn't want to remember.
Neither did the little boy. What was the boys
name anyway? The man is sure the boy knew
but now, can not recall. What is a name
anyway? Does the name make the man?
The man that was the little boy takes in the
room he now occupies. What great games he
and his friend played, he remembers them
and smiles. The laughter, the new, and exciting
the........wedding? The mans smile is gone.
Replaced with tears once again. Each joyful
memory now brings pain, unbearable heartache.
The door, he must try the door........ locked.
Where did his wife go anyway? And what was her
name? The little boy knew, if he could just ask
the boy.

I've been sending myself e-mails, an act of self counseling. Though difficult, I can be objective. LOL
Lucky! I tried that self counseling but the counselor I got was a real smart-alec, always making jokes about my problems. When I couldn't take any more I stormed out in a huff, and keyed his car on the way through the parking lot.
