Let's say: It isn't your birthday, but some other people want this time of the year to celebrate a birthday that didn't happen. Now not only is it not your birth date, you, as you grow up, don't celebrate your birthday anyway and have never in your 33 years of life, but the others demand that you do so that they can have family feasts that usually the mother of the family slaves, saves and labours over, cleaning up the scraps after the event. And what an event; families that are a bit disconnected get to bring up old arguments in their cups, even to the point of physical violence.

You look upon your birthday celebration as a big waste of time, and not about your ethics at all, but next year, when the money moguls get the tinsel out, your birthday will be used as an excuse for the damage done.

Don't think that the money, alone, wasted could be put to better use? Don't you think that the kids, when they find out there is no Santa, start to believe that it is all right to lie? Don't you think that seeing the family argue over who got the best present and why is distressing?

I bet you do when the last stubbie falls and you regret the argument you had with your least often seen relative...I bet you do.

I laugh, as it never happens to me.

I get where your coming from but at the same time regardless of the problems that people have with Christmas I think they also tend to forget the good things about it. I mean a day in which to celebrate the miracle of his birth and imagining the trumpets being sounded the choir of angels praising and singing of this pure and humble king whose power and majesty shown not in the form of a mighty throne and rod but as a small innocent babe... that is just so poetic and beautiful to me and even if it wasn't his actual birthday and even if most people don't celebrate it for the real reason God looks to the heart of the person.

I admit I am a child at heart, when Christmas season comes around my eyes light up in wonder at the Christmas lights and everywhere I look I can just feel the Christmas spirit in the air like an abnormal kind of sense of joy and wonder that fills you up like a warm fire and I am reminded at the actual beauty and purity of his birth and the absolute wonder and joy that it caused in both the world and in his kingdom. I enjoy the family gatherings and the feasts and all the fun that comes with it because to me it's just a shadow of what is to come when we feast and gather as a massive family when he takes us to his kingdom.

In a lot of ways I think people have forgotten how to see things as a child does and focus so much on the negatives that they are completely blind to certain things that can only be seen through a child's heart. Christmas spirit is rare these days and maybe that is why people like me exist- to remind people how to see things through a different perspective.

Hmmm.. You say Jesus' birthday never happened, yet you call yourself a Christian in your profile. You also say you were saved at birth, which is impossible because babies have no concept of God and cannot claim Him as their Savior. So you REALLY need to get saved before you can truthfully call yourself a Christian.

Blain,
the words you have posted, definitely come from a beautiful heart - but we must always remember,
"that the heart is deceitful and desperately wicked, above ALL THINGS, thus said,
for those who haven't read Jeremiah -

Jermiah 10:2-3-4-5.
Thus saith The LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven;
for the heathen are dismayed at them.

For the customs of the people are vain: for one cuts a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman,
with the axe.

They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not.

They are upright as the palm tree, but speak not: they must needs be borne, because they cannot go.
Be not afraid of them; for they cannot do evil, neither also is it in them to do good.

it is written: 'if the roots are rotten, thus is the whole tree'...

Saved at birth: It was through the ransom sacrifice of the son of God that we had the sin of Adam removed from our life. Through Adam sin entered the world and through sin death. That is what I meant by being saved at birth.

The Birthday that didn't happen: was Jesus born on the 25th of December or is that the day of the Babylonian and pagan god Sol? How many pagan rituals are inculcated in the Xmas rites?
These things are the arrogance of mankind, not from Christian concepts and I also said in my opening stanza that I believe that the Bible is the "Workshop Manual for Christians" this workshop manual does not contain the need, the origin and the present day concepts of Xmas. or maybe I have missed them in my readings and studies.

If the roots are rotten, etc. Xmas is rotten to the core, you are so right.

The Bible says: Better the day you die than the day you are born.

There are only two birthdays mentioned, both from pagans of the time. Pagan being those that worshipped false gods.

I do not apologise for not 'tickling your ears' the clergy will do that in gobfuls this time of the year, where many have much and many more have nothing but suffering.

I didn't say Jesus's birthday never happened, I referred it to a birthdate that never happened as Jesus is purported to have been born around October/November of this year of birth.

I agree, there is more involved in being in the heart of God, baptism represents your dedication to God, not to Jesus I might add, as Jesus showed exactly by his baptism when the heavens opened up to him and he went and dwelled on what was revealed to him then for 40 days.

Whilst there in the wilderness satan offered Jesus all the kingdoms of the world, this is particularly interesting, don't you think? it indicates that satan is the owner or ruler with the nations/kingdoms of the world or he would not have dared to offer something he had no control of to the son of God, would he?

If you mean that the date is incorrect, fair enough. But there was a birthday, and probably in early September rather than late December.

Regardless of your comments, there are many positive things about remembering the birth of Christ, and its significance for all humanity, and that is where your focus should be. Unless you are simply an unbeliever.

If you don't care to celebrate Christmas, that's fine. You're welcome to your opinion.

There is no need, however, for you to ruin it for everyone else.

So, if you wish to remember the birth of Christ, which is not obligatory in the Bible, then why not do it with truth and fact and not fable and fiction. NAH! Not enough money it that approach and most do not know the facts surrounding Christ's birth anyway.

It is the death of the human sacrifice that we should be more aware of and what it means to mankind if we obey the word of God. Yes, Jesus had to be born a mortal man, as was Adam so that the perfect man Jesus could represent the sins of the perfect man Adam.

What "they" do is going to happen whether you like it or not. Your choices are to either put up with it (try to be good natured), or leave. But you are right to not want to be part of it. We are in the world, not of it. So be in the party, not of it.

Only one who is emotionally and relationally sick gets his "kicks" being a curmudgeon. Maybe your heart is three sizes too small.

I am actually intellectually gifted. I do not need to hang onto pagan rituals to fill my world with wonder and intelligence, I get it from the Bible, not from the mouths of the demons that sway the feeble minds of the masses.

And, of course, all those that are shouting me down in fear that I might just have the Truth can take charge of their remote and switch off. I know that the truth is very hard on some of the other feeble minds hereabout.

Proverbs 3:5) Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

1 Corinthians 3:19) For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness. 20) And again, The Lord knoweth the thoughts of the wise, that they are vain.

Your the one from Debate.org with the fake profile page full of, well nothing pretty much except for you pretending to be 80 years old, and not sure if you are male or female, and you want to teach others here about the Bible, Scriptures, and the evils of celebrating the birth of Christ?

Seriously person, seriously...........a wee bit FULL of yourself are you not?

Well as you are putting the reader into the shoes of what we would think . I will give you my opinion.
First about the wrong date not important. Thanks to everyone that put things together. You all are great! Now for the guy that comes over every single year and complaining that they got my birthday wrong. The front door is to your right and don’t let it hit you on the way out.
Blessings

What does being intellectually gifted have to do with being relationally and emotionally sick? If anything, being intellectually gifted is a hindrance to relational health. Arrogance, on the other hand, is a spiritual sickness.

As you are a senior member here, I can presume that you are a bit full of yourself as well. Being intellectually gifted, at 80 years of age and being barred from debate org because I dared to speak the truth, which I have seen none of coming from your end of the page, is a joy to me as it shows that the Truth will always be in contention with satan and his cohorts.

I do have a high IQ, can you spell that? I have had a full life, full of experiences with all sorts of religious folk who are the ones that try their hardest to convert me into some ideology full of the pagan influence that Christendom favours with all its wicked heart.

Where are you in all this? Can you, in all honesty, state that your creed is the Truth and has no foreign bodies in its eye. Are you Catholic, a creed filled with paedophiles and corrupt clergy? Are you of the English church that encourages homosexual clergy and parishioners? or, by chance, do you seek the truth so that it may set you free? Maybe you are involved in the Russian Coptic group who enjoy raiding and laying false information for the Russian squads to collect to ban the organisation, with the backing of Putin? There are many creeds and doctrines for you to claim, but none of them is the Truth except one, God's Truth.

Bye the way, I turned 80 on the 1st October 2018, close to the real birth date of Jesus, and this is from secular scholars.

Another Bye the way, I don't want to take on the onerous burden of trying to teach this lot anything, all I want is the same airspace as everyone else. Maybe, just maybe someone there will see the light in my words, taken from years of study and dedication. And here is one up your lack of knowledge about me, I am not a JW.
