Why does so many people call Jesus (Christ)
Christ left Jesus on the cross. He sits at the right hand of God fully God. No need for the anointing.
He is a friend that sticks closer than a brother, but you won't call him by his given name him
Maybe some of you missed that in your study, or diluting the most powerful name ever, is your only way to say it

Christ is not his name, it's his office and title which means anointed or chosen. He will be that for eternity, "...both Lord and Christ", noted as such after his resurrection. Note Acts 2:36.

Take it up with Paul used "Jesus Christ" plenty.

So you all call your friends by there title.
So what your sayings is his disciples would have called him Christ.
Also Paul was a servant of Jesus.
Also are you really sure that Christ wasn't added to dilute the name of Jesus.

News Flash, Jesus was Jewish. In their religion the King to be was anointed with oil (See 2 Samuel 12:7) When Nathan anoints David it isn't a dot of oil on his forehead. He pours a Rams Horn full of first pressed oil onto David's head. Oil was pressed 3 times, the first pressing produces the cleanest/purest oil. The Temple Priests got the first pressing. Oil also is a representation of the Holy Spirit.

The word Christ: from Latin Christus, from Greek khristos """the anointed""" (translation of Hebrew mashiah; see messiah).

Jesus is his name. Christ (the anointed via the Holy Spirit) is a Title.

So, Jesus the Christ is the how he should be viewed

Actually, Christmas is one word. Jesus Christ is two words. And Christ Mas actually means "more Christ" in Spanish.

About what we call names today. They are not quite the same, not with the majority that is, as they were in the times of the Word past.

Michael is all one thinks of when they hear it they just think, a guy's name but it is from the Hebrew and it does not just label a person, but describes what attributes they duibber may hav prayed over the named. Michael means one who is like kGod…….Like when the Angel, Michael, came to help Daniel and was delayed by the adversary when He came to Daniel's aid.

Bethlehem is just the name of a town to so many,but if you break down what the words are that make up that name in Hebrew, Beit Lechem, you have house of Bread, and how beffitting is this since the Bread from Heaven first came to that House.

Jesus is not just a name, it has been transliterated twice from its original Yeshua, of if you have this accent, Yahwhua. It became Iesous in Greek then Yesu in Latin and came to English as Jesus.

The original, Yeshua, is composed of the words, The salvation of Yah(weh). Now when the Angel told Mary to call the babe Yeshua because He shall save His people, it tends to make all kinds of sense.

These descriptive titles for so many have evovled inot just nice sounding appellations for peple, but they mean oh so much more, and usually they bless all.

Go ahead worship his title/gift. Someday when your religious upbringing wears off or not, you will speak his name correctly

Ever notice that the people of NT always called Jesus by his given. They never called him Jesus Christ.
I guess they weren't as smart as modern people.

Christ is the Greek translation of the word Messiah... So it is a Title Christians use.

It is declaring that Jesus was and is the Messiah.. If we declare Jesus the Messiah we will not be waiting for another to fulfill the role of Messiah..

Jesus is His name in the English language.. It has all the power needed..
