Isaiah 9:6 (NKJV): For unto us a Child is born,
Unto us a Son is given;
And the government will be upon His shoulder.
And His name will be called
Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

I’ve always understood the Trinity to be 3 separate “persons/entities” in 1 God.

Why does this prophesy of the Christ refer to Him as Everlasting Father?

It made me think of John ch. 10 when the Jews wanted to stone Him for say “I and My Father are one” (v.30)

I’ve understood this to be one in essence. Equal but seperate. Similar to the Church(body of Christ)being seperate parts of the body but one church. Man and wife, being two individuals but become one in flesh.

What are y’all’s thoughts on this?

There's only one.
Jesus was God made flesh. Mary was told by the archangel to call his name, Immanuel, meaning "God with us" . God, as the scriptures tell us, is not a man. God is a holy spirit. Therefore what is described by the trinity as father, holy spirit, jesus, is actually the one God. The holy spirit is not separate from God. God IS holy spirit. And Jesus was God in flesh, so when he returned to the Father, to sit at his right hand after his resurrection and ascension, it means to say in that scripture that Jesus returned to the power that is God. The right hand, in Jewish symbolism referred to the "king hand" , the hand of power. Jesus was empowered as God in flesh to heal, raise the dead, vanquish demons, etc... As he did do. His teachings mostly in parable form, were derived from what his people would have known as those teachings in the temple from the Hebrew Bible. Only Jesus would give them voice and show their meaning by his power as God.

There are Bible verse search sites you can find in any search engine. Find one and ask to find all verses pertaining to "one God".
Remember the first scripture that speaks of that in the OT. Hear oh Israel, our God, our God is one.
God himself said it is he and there is no other beside him. Isaiah44:6,8 — Thus saith the LORD the King of Israel, and his redeemer the LORD of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God.Fear ye not, neither be afraid; have not I told thee from that time, and have declared it? ye are even my witnesses. Is there a God beside me? yea, there is no God; I know not any.

Thank you for your feed back and for welcoming me to this forum. First time joining a chat. Stumbled upon this site doing a google search and figured it would be nice to fellowship, receive study inspiration and examination of my faith

Question: Would God made flesh not be the same as being a man?

Jesus said to them, “If you were Abraham’s children, you would do the works of Abraham. But now you seek to kill Me, a Man who has told you the truth which I heard from God.” John 8:39-40

Philippians 2:5–8 (NKJV): Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, 6 who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, 7 but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. 8 And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death,

I’ve always been taught JC being the Son of Man and the Son of God showed him being 100% God/100% Man.
