The "push me/pull me" world that makes us want to reach out and help others. God speaks and we listen. Maybe we just need to boil everything down to rock bottom........separate the wheat from the chaff, so to speak. How do you apply God to a Godless people. So many of my nieces and nephews don't believe in God (depressing) as do much of the "zero" generation. They will outright tell you. They have been hammered to fit the mold of the progressive left since childhood. Now we have people banging on the doors of our nation wanting..................WHAT?
Why would anyone march in a crowd up to my door that is bound to raise questions as to their motive for wanting entrance into my home. I have seen no American flags........no Christian flags.......no talk of wanting to be an American.............bottom line..........sorry, you are a stranger to me..........and I was raised not to trust strangers.

Even at the end of the war Britain needed American financial assistance, and in 1945 Britain took a loan for $586 million (about £145 million at 1945 exchange rates), and in addition a further $3.7 billion line of credit (about £930m at 1945 exchange rates). The debt was to be paid off in 50 annual repayments commencing in 1950. Some of these loans were only paid off in the early 21st century. No, I understand what you were trying to state... you apparently missed that we were discussion nationalism, or the pride in being a citizen of the United States. The reason for the pride is because of what the US has DONE, and what it IS. In the sense that our nation, the US, did what they did in France, and other parts of Europe, Africa, Italy, the Pacific (where my father fought), I say yes, WE did it. WE (the US) saved France's butt, as the guy you quoted stated.

To ignore, or minimize what our citizens have done for the past 200 or so years is doing them a grave dis-service. If we only count the greatness one generation at a time, then we are no better than animals, living only for "my" lifetime. What happened previously doesn't matter, and who cares what happens next?
