Win others by our love for one another and for all others, even our enemies.

Now, love does not mean we pray for what the wicked may do, but we must pray they repent and be blessed.…...

That is to say we must love all people, even those who may do evil to us or others………..

I find it incredibly hard to love my neighbour who beats his wife, steals from me, throws his rubbish in my garden, and is a general nuisance, but I can do, as Paul advises and he suffered terribly.

Do not pay anyone back evil for evil, but focus your thoughts on what is right in the sight of all people. If possible, so far as it depends on you, live in peace with all people. Do not take revenge, dear friends, but leave room for God's wrath. For it is written, "Vengeance belongs to me. I will pay them back, declares the Lord." But "if your enemy is hungry, feed him. For if he is thirsty, give him a drink. If you do this, you will pile burning coals on his head." Do not be conquered by evil, but conquer evil with good.
(Rom 12:17-21 ISV)

What does it mean to love?

Agape love is turning the other cheek, going the extra mile even for our enemies who hate us.

To love our neighbors is to show them God's love through our words and actions.
.it's not being a walking mat but speaking correction in love if needed or remaining silent and no judgemental. It means listening and praying with them. It means rejoicing when they have happy things happen like marriage or a new job or a new baby. It means crying with them when their is a death or loss in their lives.

Love is more than words it's actions and being present for the joys and the sorrows of life.

I think He made His point when he forgave those that nailed him to the cross. He expects us to do the same with our cross.

I asked you first but JaumeJ's post is close to what I'm thinking.
But not exactly what your thinking, so why not enlighten us?

We got more than enough folks around here who want to take on the Role of Teacher..........'bout time folks just said what they think and then ask others for their thoughts as well..........

We can't love our enemy, only If Jesus in us than He do It for us. Paul say he is death now Christ in him.

it means that even if hypothetically, you are preaching the gospel, and someone decide to punch you across the face for no apparent reason, the force of the fist can leave you spinning, and you can kneel down in that position to pray according to Romans 12 to overcome evil with good, and ask to forgive the one who punched you, etc.

as an extreme illustration

Well I was seeking clarity after witnessing the animosity displayed during esp political 'discussions'. Is the 'other' political party not your neighbor in the sense one has to be hostile toward them? I'm missing something here.
