A lot of folks on Christian Chat struggle with their salvation. Is it eternal, or is it just temporary. Is it up to Jesus to keep me saved, or is it up to me to keep myself saved?

These questions are designed for everyone to meditate on and have a friendly chat with the God of the universe. If He can't answer your questions in the quietness of the prayer chamber--I doubt that any of us that believe our Bibles can do much better with you.

After all, salvation is a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Friends ought to be able to talk. Right?

Wow, this is excellent and I'm going to work my way through all of these questions. Baptist Brother, I will be meditating on these, seriously thank you. I agree that we need to be mindful of our approach and in our speech to one another. We have a responsibility. Ok, enough encouraging. It is my personality to find what's right. He has taught me this. But sometimes I go overboard in my expressing... Hahaha, to the point of sounding like a sycophant, lol. I am not, dang it. Seriously Baptist Brother, God Bless you. GREAT POST, GREAT QUESTIONS!!!

I am blessed that you were blessed!

There is nothing better in this world than to know that the old account of sin between us and God was settled long ago and that we can enter into the rest that Hebrews promises from. See, God ceased from His work of creation--but Hebrews uses it to say that we rest from our work to somehow establish our own righteousness, but not according to knowledge!

If I had this sword of Damascus hanging over my head 24x7, 365 days a year - I could never serve God, for I would constantly see myself as an unclean thing. Which, by the way, is exactly how Satan wants us to feel, because He doesn't want us to serve God and win our lost loved ones and friends to Christ.

I will add a few...

19. Does he save me to the UTTERMOST
20. Does he KEEP ME by his POWER through faith
21. Does he finish the work of faith he began in me
22. Have I been sealed unto the day of redemption
23. Am I in the Father's hand
24. Am I in the Son's Hand
25. WHO can yank me from their hands
26. What can separate me from the love of GOD
27. Does JESUS lose anything he has been given or does he raise it up the last day
28. Will JESUS leave and forsake me
29. Is the gift of salvation/life irrevocable
30. Does he leave the 99 to find me if I wander off

1 John 5:9-13 King James Version (KJV)

9 If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater: for this is the witness of God which he hath testified of his Son.
10 He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son.
11 And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.
12 He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.
13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

That is certainly the first place to go to find assurance . . . I was absolutely shocked to see that there are some people that believe that just because something is clearly written, it does not necessarily mean what it says because the author was probably being parabolic, and some whittle the words to the point where us no longer means us, but only the elected few we.

It truly sickened me to come across such things.

Praise God we can trust our Bible and that Satan has not blinded our eyes that we should understand the truth of the Word!

5. Do I believe God or doubt Him?

- I doubt myself, and also, "let God be true and every man a liar"
and sometimes misapply 1 Cor 10:12

salvation is depending on God, not on ourselves

7. Did I trust Christ and yet God did not give me eternal life?

- we are capable of having that kind of worry, but that should not be the case
we should trust that God will neither leave us nor forsake us, and God will honor his promise

15. Can I believe what the Bible says without any other evidences?

--> it's hard to walk by faith, not by sight, if God saved us, then we have to trust him at his word.

16. Will I believe the Lord Jesus without any feelings?

- my college professor told me that faith is a decision
and I believed him

18. Did these questions help you to come to a decision for Christ?

I already made the decision on March 13, 2017
if decision is all it takes, then thank you

Php 2:12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

1Co 15:33 Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.
1Co 15:34 Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame.

2Ti 2:19 Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.

If we hate sin, and do not want sin, we can abstain from sin by the Spirit, but we are not forced to do what is right, so it is initiated by us first before the Spirit will lead us.

That is why we have to work out our own salvation after we confess Christ, and receive the Spirit, because we are not forced to act like Christ, so we have to put in the effort to act like Christ before the Spirit gives us the ability to abstain from all sins.

2Ti 3:4 lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
2Ti 3:5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
2Ti 3:6 For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,
2Ti 3:7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

Some do not come to this truth, and deny the Spirit leading them because they want to enjoy the world as the world enjoys the world, and still believe they are right with God, and it does not affect their relationship with God.

Nice responses . . . 15 could be changed from 'if' God saved us, to 'when' God saved us. He didn't dangle it out in front of us like a carrot - He offers to it free of charge to whomever will reach out and take it. You tell me you took it, so it's WHEN.

For it is God which worketh in us both the WILL and to DO of His good pleasure.

The US dollar was taken off of the gold standard, back-up, by Richard Milhouse Nixon decades ago. He left the currency t float on its own, imagined, value opening the doorway to an international monetary collapse.
