The lesson here is...................be VERY careful about what we vow to do - we know not the future and consequences of our words. God will require what our hearts hold dear. Only God should sit upon the throne of our hearts.
Even better is the advice from our LORD Jesus on Oaths..

Matthew 5: KJV
33 "¶ Again, ye have heard that it hath been said by them of old time, Thou shalt not forswear thyself, but shalt perform unto the Lord thine oaths: {34} But I say unto you, Swear not at all; neither by heaven; for it is God’s throne: {35} Nor by the earth; for it is his footstool: neither by Jerusalem; for it is the city of the great King. {36} Neither shalt thou swear by thy head, because thou canst not make one hair white or black. {37} But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil."

Hello Adstar, :)

This is a good one, too!

Ecclesiastes 5:2-5 King James Version (KJV)
2 Be not rash with thy mouth, and let not thine heart be hasty to utter any thing before God: for God is in heaven, and thou upon earth: therefore let thy words be few.
3 For a dream cometh through the multitude of business; and a fool's voice is known by multitude of words.
4 When thou vowest a vow unto God, defer not to pay it; for he hath no pleasure in fools: pay that which thou hast vowed.
5 Better is it that thou shouldest not vow, than that thou shouldest vow and not pay.

The “fruit” on the forbidden tree in Jewish though is either:

- Fig
- Grapes
- Etrog
- Apple

Yeshua tells us a big secret though when he tells Nathaniel how he knew who he was. “I knew you when you were under the fig tree...”

Now Yeshua didn’t say that specifically to Nathiel for any silly reason. There is an in depth message but regardless, I believe through Yeshua, that it’s a fig tree.

Hello Mountaindude28, :)

So, I thinking your question was a multiple choice........................and you gave us your answer which is "fig." However, the scripture only gives us the name of the tree which is "The Knowledge of Good and Evil."

I know what a fig, grapes (grow on a vine, not a tree), and apple are, but I've never heard of an etrog - what is that?

Anyways, my guess would be.......... None of the Above. LOL!:ROFL:

Adam and Eve chose to cover themselves with the leaves of a fig tree.................which would be evidence against them of eating of the tree they were not suppose to eat or TOUCH it. So, I don't think the forbidden fruit was figs. HOWEVER, everyone is entitled to their opinions, thoughts and beliefs!

Hahaha nice. Yes absolutely you are right about our opinions but my basis was on Yeshua and Nathaniel. Look at that passage carefully and think about what Yeshua is saying.

As for Genesis:

1. G-d commanded NOT to eat. He never said do not touch. Eve/Chava added that stimpulation (she minimized G-d’s Command by doing so) and it aided in her falling into the serpents trap.

2. An etrog is one of the 4 species one is required to have biblically on Sukkot (“the festival of booths”). The other one is a palm branch and this is why on Sukkot when Yeshua came to Jerusalem (but it is a biblical command for Jews to be there on the 3 pilgrimage festivals: Sukkot, Pesach and Shavuot).

I hope this helps.

Here’s a question I want to see people’s answers too:

Explain how you fit 3 days and 3 nights into Friday sundown to Sunday morning?

Yes, it helps very much! I've learned what an etrog is and I've enjoyed your insight and sharing! :D

Oh, good grief! I have seen threads go on and on speculating about what kind of fruit was the "forbidden." It does not matter. All you can do is speculate. It's a moot point anyway as the fruit's symbolic identity is what's important.

I believe that the tree symbolically meant they would take on the role of deciding good from evil for themselves, rather than taking God's word in faith. I think is is the same sin Satan and his cohorts committed.

Without looking it up, I would say C, right?
