Let's say you ask God for healing and you get it. Did the healing power of God come from within you or from out?
What about if you were to command a spirit to come out of a person, and the thing leaves. Did the power of God drive the thing out from within you or from outside of you?
Does it matter whether you ask God or command in the name of Jesus?

Nothing exists but for God. I have never heale anyone nor have I performed a miracle, nor have I had the foreknowledge of individuals except that I was available to our Father for Him to work through me. He does not nor eve did need me but He works through people who love Him

There are lesser powers that may do all kinds of magic, but none do the work of God for God's work is His own.

All glory to God, not to the vessels He would use.

The power originates from God.. Asking for a location is to me irrelevant.. God is everywhere.

Asking God is something anyone can do..

Making a command is only allowed if one has been given Authority by God to do so..

Matthew 7

21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

It would seem that it does indeed matter!

Which one's might these be? (glad you asked that question ;))

2 Timothy 2
14 Of these things put them in remembrance, charging them before the Lord that they strive not about words to no profit (benefit), but to the subverting of the hearers.

(op/ed....probably just more "vainful" ramblings)

I see so many people, for years, in strenuous laborings, in their exacting the precise timings of "The GREAT TRIBULATION!" And whether they will be "raptured" Pre?, Mid?, or Post? "tribulation!" I know I've said this before (in BDF as a matter of fact), and I'll say it again!

TO WHAT "PROFIT" OR BENEFIT, OR "GAIN", do these people expect from such? Is this "gaining" knowledge of the truth? It is gaining knowledge of NOTHING! What it does gain, is the enemies of the Kingdom of God, and Kingdom of Light, in "seductive pursuasions", in some cases, and downright oppression, in other cases, that these people are actually "studying" their Bible!

There are "other" such "labors in vanity", that go on, and are going on, I can't bring to mind, at the moment. That "men's/women's" ego's put forth, in their professing themselves as "learned!"

To answer the OP? The "Power of God", IN Christ? COMES, when like Christ, and like Paul, and the other disciples, start FORCING ones' own thoughts into the "REMEMBRANCE of Christ!" Meaning? Like YOU yourselves have "Entered IN, by WAY of the Sheepgate?" So MUST they!

Is called? "Investing" your talent/s, people! Is NOT for gianfulness of MORE salvation, as you are ALREADY saved! Is for "doing YOUR part", as a SOLDIER! Is not a "how less can I do and still be saved!" game people!

If you pray, asking God for something, would it be a sin to thank Him for it before you get it or even see any signs of it manifesting?

The very fist lines of the Gospel according to John tell us in plain words, Jesus Christ is God.

It comes in plain words from Isaiah also when he was given to foretell the birth of a Child to us, a Son given. His name was to be called, amon many other names, Everlasting Father, God Almighty, Counselor, Comforter, Ruler of peace...........

The Word, in His own Word, telss us all plainly. Now it is up to the faithful who believe Him to impart this knowledge to all who will receive it as true. If they do, the Father will lead them to Jesus Christ, one way or another.....I know, He did this for me.

All glory to God, amenin Jesus Christ's name amen

Both mean the same thing. The name of Christ denotes His divine authority, but all supernatural results are from God.

No. If you are asking according to His will, then you can certainly thank God. Jesus thanked the Father BEFORE He raised Lazarus from the dead.

Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead was laid. And Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me. (John 11:41)

This is actually a great question.

If a 140lb. policeperson is in the street stopping traffic, does the car/ person driving the car stop because they have less power than the car or because of the authority that policeperson has backing them up... the whole police force, mayor, governor…..

Sickness, decease, the demonic has more power, just like the person in the car, but it yields because of the Authority of G-d, just like we do to the policeperson (even though we could run them down in a car and kill them).

I will NEVER believe we can rebuke any thing.... "In the name of Y-shea I rebuke you".... but IT IS "In the name of Y-shua, THE LORD REBUKE YOU"....

IT IS ALL HIM, HIS NAME, POWER and AUTHORITY!!!!!

God knows and uses many ways.

Acts 5
15 As a result, people brought the sick into the streets and laid them on cots and mats, so that at least Peter’s shadow might fall on some of them as he passed by.
16 Crowds also gathered from the towns around Jerusalem, bringing the sick and those tormented by unclean spirits, and all of them were healed.

Hey Nehemiah, I disagree respectfully. Ministering (commanding) healing is quite different than asking God (through prayer) to heal. While they both can get a similar result, of healing, (praise God) one is not coming from a place of request (as like a petition) but from a place of authority and faith. That authority being the name of Jesus (and all that encompasses), and faith being a belief in God to heal at the use of His name unto His glory (among other factors, such as what Christ procured at the cross).

There are distinctions. I mean, consider that when telling the disciples what to do (in healing the sick), they are not even told to pray but lay hands on the sick. Just lay hands. Imagine that.

Well i would be asking God to cast out an evil Spirit if i thought someone had one and i was the only Christian about...

Paul made it clear that different people received different abilities so i don't believe casting out demons was given to all.. The following passage of scripture reveals that different gifts are given by God to different Christians..

1 Corinthians 12: KJV

4 "Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. {5} And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord. {6} And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all. {7} But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal. {8} For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; {9} To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; {10} To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues: {11} But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will. {12} For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ."

There are so MANY "oft" times, a believer's heart can issue forth an authority, that the rest of the believer's soul, spirit, flesh, and mind, would NOT be able in the enduring! Nor, has the CAPACITY, in SUCCESSFULLY Executing! Note: Even the Disciples of Christ, at the time He was ON earth, Had NOT the capacity, NOR AUTHORITY of casting out "certain" demons/devils, false god/s, ie. "Enemies", of the Kingdom of God, and Kingdom of Light. And just what did Jesus say to them? "Oh Ye of little faith!"

Which is to say: That ALL the "wishing, and wanting, etc.", from a wicked, deceitful, vainful heart? AIN'T ENOUGH!

In answering the question as to whether the "Power of God", the OP asks, comes from within, or without, the believer? It comes THROUGH the believer! That is, IF the believer, can HANDLE the POWER of God, coming/going THROUGH aforementioned believer!

In answering your question: Should the "pray-er", NOT "notice, detect, sense, feel, "see"" that that which was asked for DURING the "asking?" It would NOT be a sin!

Having said that? It would be a "prayer" in vain!
