When Paul says to put to death the deeds of the body “by the Spirit” (Romans 8:13), I take him to mean that we should use the one weapon in the Spirit’s armor that is used to kill. Namely, the sword. Which is the word of God (Ephesians 6:17).

So when the body is about to be led into a sinful action by some fear or craving, we are to take the sword of the Spirit and kill that fear and that craving. In my experience that means mainly severing the root of sin’s promise by the power of a superior promise.

So, for example, when I begin to crave some illicit sexual pleasure, the sword-swing that has often severed the root of this promised pleasure is: “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God” (Matthew 5:8). I recall the pleasures I have tasted of seeing God more clearly from an undefiled conscience; and I recall the brevity and superficiality and oppressive aftertaste of sin’s pleasures, and with that, God has killed the conquering power of sin.

It is a beautiful thing to be the instrument of God’s word-wielding power to kill sin.

Having promises at hand that suit the temptation of the hour is one key to successful warfare against sin. But there are times when we don’t have a perfectly suited word from God in our minds. And there is no time to look through the Bible for a tailor-made promise. So we all need to have a small arsenal of general promises ready to use whenever fear or craving threaten to lead us astray.

Here are a few of my most proven weapons:

1. "Fear not, for I am with you. Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. I will help you. I will uphold you with my righteous right hand" (Isaiah 41:10)

I have slain more dragons in my soul with that sword than any other I think. It is a precious weapon to me.

2. "He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things?" (Romans 8:32).

How many times I have been persuaded in the hour of trial by this verse that the reward of disobedience could never be greater than "all things."

3. "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me . . . And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age." (Matthew 28:18).

How many times have I strengthened my sagging spirit with the assurance that the Lord of heaven and earth is just as much with me today as he was with the disciples on earth!

4. "Call upon me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you and you shall glorify me" (Psalms 50:15).

What makes this weapon so compelling is that God’s helping me is made the occasion of my glorifying him. Amazing arrangement. I get the help, he gets the glory!

5. "My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus"(Philippians 4:19).

The context is financial and material. But the principle is total. What we really need (not just want) will be granted. And what is need? Need is what we must have to do God’s will. What we must have to magnify our Savior. That is what we will be given as we trust him.

Be constantly adding to your arsenal of promises. But never lose sight of the chosen few that God has blessed in your life. Do both. Be ever-ready with the old. And every morning look for a new one to take with you through the day.

This was lifted from the interweb as edification and encouragement as would be received.
His power is greater than we understand. You are loved.

Listen to what is wrong,
 do not fight above on the left if you are righthanded;
and if you are lefthanded,
on the right you limp as well.
Before and After, these two things,
are to all skill a well-spring.
Weak and Strong,
 Always remember the word Instantly.
So you may learn
To work and defend with skill.

G-d is simply G-d.... But we need to know that... a knowing of that... He is Creator of heaven and Earth... Earth is His foot-stool... He is my Creator... He knows my inter most parts from my mothers womb.... So when I am in trouble He has made my way of escape. He honestly has. Sometimes He gives me a person at the right time, but usually it is Him, Him self.... weather it is to call on Him out loud, or He breaks a thought and I start speaking or singing to Him.... G-d always does His part.... Now what sucks is some times it quench His Spirit do what I want to do and end up repenting.... every time… But I can never account for when the Spirt left me or forsake me only when I quenched Him and the numerous times He delivered me because I chose obedience. Obedience is always better.... just joy no sorrow of repentance afterwards....

2 Cor 10: 3-5 "For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds; Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God and bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ;"

Praise the Lord for his promises! The Lord make his word to be the power of his might to our hearts and minds and use his promises to increase our faith to minister to the brethren and to the lost, in Jesus' name. So, when the evil one attacks or the flesh with its cravings fill one's mind, we should strive to set our minds instead to the Lord's word to bring our thoughts into captivity to the obedience of Christ.

If the iron be blunt, and he do not whet the edge,
then must he put to more strength:
but wisdom is profitable to direct.

This has been my go to verse whenever i feel myself slipping into something that would lead to sin. Other times i just say a quick prayer based on it: Holy Spirit break down every pretension and false hope that sets itself up in my heart and mind and make my thoughts obedient to Christ." I feel indescribable peace afterwards

Do the Speaking Window,
 stand blithely and look at his actions;
Strike him until he is defeated.
When he withdraws from you,
I say to you truthfully:
no one protects himself without danger.
If you have learned this,
he can scarcely manage to strike.

'Speaking Window' ((it is thought) is with reference to, at the instant of binding your sword against the weapon of the adversary, feeling with it his intention. whether he push this way, or the other, you can sense through the contact - and react accordingly through wisdom, knowing where he will leave himself open, where and what he threatens, and where he is weak so that you have opportunity to be strong against him. the placement, pressure and movement of your opponents weapon 'speaks' and you, with your sword, may listen and hear it.

it is easier to show than to tell

God speak to us all the time, but we not hear it.

In general God speak to us through bible, but I believe God speak to us in a specific way for specific reason. For example, God speak to Mary about her Son Jesus and speak to Joseph to take Mary as a wife.

I believe God willing to speak to us when we ask Him what kind of job we have to chose.

This question is not specifically mention in the Bible.

There isn't a verse in the Bible say Jackson must work as a driver or as a teacher etc

God knows the best job for us and willing to tell us, but we (include me) are not hear it because we not close to Him.

John 10:27 New International Version (NIV)

27 My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.
