Is there a real Christianity that doesn't lead to the reality of Christians today? Christians desire to emulate a fierce God who might love us all, but burns against his enemies. Would you expect his follower's to do any less? If you're supposed to be like God then look at what God is really like, and this is why Christians are the way they are today.
The God of the Old Testament is an Holy God which no man could approach apart from the shedding of the blood of bulls and goats and lambs. The Law condemns all that stands before it for no man can obey it to even an nth degree of perfection. Short of perfection that Holy God must judge for there is no barrier between that Holy Law and that Holy God. The God of the Old Testament is a God of Judgment.

The God of the New Testament in no different from the God of the Old Testament except that in this case, Jesus Christ become the propitiation for the sins of every sinner that approaches Him at the Cross of Calvary where the Blood of a perfect sacrifice was shed. Now the God of Judgment has judged His Son in our stead . . . and through that . . . He is no longer a God of judgment, but a God of grace.

Today, man must choose whether he wants to ultimately face the God of the Old Testament with nothing more than His failed attempt to keep the Law perfectly, or the God of grace who refuses to see the sins of the saint because the Blood of Jesus Christ, His Son, has covered them all.

Your choice . . . I've made mine.

The vast majority of people who call themselves Christians believe that Jesus could come any second, any minute, any hour, any day, any week, any month. I disagree and here is why.

YOU are not ready. And when I say YOU I don't mean you as an individual, I mean you as part of the universal church from which emerges the Bride of Christ.

What do we see when we look at the church today?

First we see division. Denominations are in competition with each other based on doctrines. They fail to unite to influence towns and cities and states and countries with the gospel. Denominations and doctrinal disagreements are Satan's greatest tool to keep the church divided.

Next we see sin. Yes, the church is full of the same sins found in the world. No wonder the world mocks the church when it is full of the same sins it judges the world for committing.

Another big problem is that people who think of themselves as saints are living the same way as sinners. It's every man for themself and keeping up with the Jonses. "Christian" life is all about trading up to a newer and better and more expensive home or car or cell phone or LED TV or etc. It certainly isn't about sharing all things and not seeking possessions and the pleasures they bring.

Finally the church is utterly failing to realize its earthly responsibility to show the world what life in and with God is all about. For God so loved the world that He sent his Son, Jesus, to save it. This is the ultimate task of Jesus, i.e. to save this world, and the plan is to do this using the church.

Jesus is not coming back to marry a dirty slut lying in a gutter cowering in fear of persecution and begging to be rescued. He is returning to marry a glorious Bride who is standing tall wearing dazzling robes of righteousness which represent good works. She is an overcomer and a conqueror. She is without spot (sinless) and without wrinkle. This word wrinkle comes from a Greek verb meaning to rescue and with the prefix "a" means not needing to be rescued. Wrinkle is a terrible translation.

I believe it will be several years before Jesus can turn His church around and get it headed in the right direction. This will be the reason for the big worldwide economic collapse that's coming. He has to shake up the world and especially those who claim to follow Him.

nice. do you include yourself as a slut? I doubt third world Christians have the time to slut about

why do so many people in this country, if a believer, never seem to remember they do not make up the entire globe

just several years? well good then. still time to slut around

What do we see when we look at the church today?
is that what you see? thankfully Jesus looks beyond what YOU see

such an encouraging post and yet so typical for people dropping in who think they have truth all sewn up

so, coming from a non-believer, please do tell us what God is really like

I would say that you have said enough in your post above, to indicate you really do not know

however, very quick to judge and sounds like you came here to do just that

God has made a way out of your predicament. His Name is Jesus and God did not send Him into the world to destroy it

you sound bitter...is there a reason for that?

Matt 24
9 Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake.
10 And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.
11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.
12 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.
13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

End time situation according to Jesus there Will be great persecution and many shall betray one another.
If you expect the church Will be perfect before His coming, It is contrary to the bible.

According to matt 24 Jesus Will come after great persecution or great tribulation

While the big denominations in the US are secular there are the gospel preaching sub denominations. Gary North documented the takeover of Presbyterian USA in 1932 by secular ministers wanting access to the church's money. Presbyterian PCA however is a gospel preaching denomination along with Lutheran Missouri Synod. While a little less than half the people go to church only a fraction of them hear the gospel message. The wolves in sheep's clothing are in most of the pulpits today. Only sub denominations and independent churches preach the gospel message today.

The universe is so huge and empty and we have not left our own planet yet. I think we are to colonize the universe. If not, the vast majority of creation will be basically lifeless, just rocks, sands and gas.
Ah, That might be what the millennium and the new earth are all about! You might get to rule and plan the habitation of an entire galaxy!

One thing about end times is the abomination that causes desolation. It is thought to take place in the Temple. When you see the 3rd temple being built in Israel on the location of the first and second temple you will know the end is near. There has been an archaeological dig on the site. The YouTube video shows the excavation with Gion Springs, the alter and other items in the temple.

Second temple location - where was it built

That is a sign of end time, not all the way around. I understand Jesus say they Will betray one another. In the persecution day If antichrist government take us to jail, and the government ask us to tell where your Christian fellow hide, or who is your pastor, and If you tell me, you are free man, or I keep hit you. Only strong Christian last, the majority Will betray his fellow

You really think Christ's true church is in bad shape? Try again. Christ is fully in control of the direction of His church. The whole problem is: antichrist hijacked Christianity and runs most of the mainstream denominations. These so called Christians will be the main perpetrators of the persecution of the real church.

Everyone that has the Holy Spirit is the only true church. That said: There is a counterfeit Holy Spirit: 2 Cor. 11:14 "And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light."

Jesus tell that story, what happen in the end time. They betray one another.

I know real Christian Will not betray their fellow. I believe like you say in the end timea Lot of people call the self Christian but not. Persecution Will show wether one real Christian or not. Is not an easy, when police hit you touring you ask where your pastor at, and you not betray.

It is talking about great persecution where they deliver you to jail because your christianity (matt 24 verse 9)

I would have given you an amen but the terms God of the Old testament and God of the new seem to get stuck in my psyche because it is the SAME GOD. Jesus is the fulfillment of the old and through him we can start anew.

The difference is with God's relationship with the law and the unbeliever, and the Blood of Christ with the believer. God's wrath is either to be borne by the unsaved sinner, or fully absorbed by the death of His Son. Is the sinner fully exposed to the judgment of the Law or is He covered by Blood and dead to that Law?

It is easy to find out about any individual church. Attend a service and if the gospel message is not preached in one form or another and just a homily is you will have your answer!! Presbyterian USA was taken over in 1932. Possibly a very few might preach the gospel. I talked to one of them several years ago. He was fighting to get the ministers to preach the gospel but was having no luck. Presbyterian PCA does preach the gospel. There are sub denominations and independent churches that still preach the gospel.

Jesus said the law is in effect until heaven and earth disappear. All people are under the law. If we accept Jesus Jesus as our savior the penalty of sin (breaking the law) is removed from us. Most people do not know the the law. It is scattered through the Torah. Here are the 613 laws in the Torah.

In addition to the 10 commandments there are the laws scattered through the Torah.
