Looking at the threads on this forum, it struck me that they are all about
others and nothing about ourselves for example:

Why do women do this,
What do we think of gays
Why do sinners do that
Can men do this
Men/women who have long/short hair are doomed
Baptists/penticostals/word of faith/Catholics/mega churches/small churches are doomed
Are ... fill in the blanks....going to hell

Are we all so holy that we are entitled to question the sin or perceived sin
of others and whether or not they are going to hell, are saved, follow Jesus etc.

The bible tells us to examine ourselves doesn’t it.

So for a change here is a thread to exam ourselves,

Does anyone dare post in this thread?

2 Corinthians 13:5 NKJV
[5] Examine yourselves as to whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves.
Do you not know yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?-unless indeed you are disqualified.

So as I raised the challenge it’s my turn first.

I am a sinner saved and covered by the blood of the lamb.
I could not and cannot save myself.
I will never be able to claim that I keep myself safe, I am kept by the
continued completed work of the cross, my past, present future sin is
forgiven.

I struggle every day to put off the old man and put on the new man.
Or in my case woman.

I get impatient, angry, frustrated, I want things out of selfish gain, I put
myself first. I don’t do things I should do.
I don’t trust like I should.
I empty drain before engaging brain - blurt out things on a whim.
I don’t pray like I should I don’t read my bible like I should.

As I get older I find myself becoming more and more aware of my faults and
less inclined to be quite so sure about myself.
I trust Jesus to complete the work He has began in me but like Paul I
often think the following:

Romans 7:18-25 NLT
[18] And I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful
nature. I want to do what is right, but I can't. [19] I want to do what
is good, but I don't. I don't want to do what is wrong, but I do it anyway.
[20] But if I do what I don't want to do, I am not really the one
doing wrong; it is sin living in me that does it.

[21] I have discovered this principle of life-that when I want
to do what is right, I inevitably do what is wrong. [22] I love God's
law with all my heart. [23] But there is another power within
me that is at war with my mind. This power makes me a slave
to the sin that is still within me.

[24] Oh, what a miserable person I am! Who will free me from
this life that is dominated by sin and death? [25] Thank God! The
answer is in Jesus Christ our Lord. So you see how it is: In my mind
I really want to obey God's law, but because of my sinful nature I am a slave to sin.

I'm both. A saint is a saved sinner.

I am both a sinner and a Saint..

people are not Saints because they have ceased sinning..

People are Saints because they have their sins covered by the Atonement of the LORD Jesus Christ and are Deemed by God to be rightious because of that..

Hello......if I may. Many people have mystified the word, saint, it is shortened of sanctified. We are sanctified by the Blood of the Lamb....... They do the same thing to the word, holy, it means separate or apart. To be holy is to keep oneself apart from the world and its works. Of course we would have to leave the world to do this completely therefore we are in the world but not of the world being perfected by God...

Galatians 5:17

For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.

This is the new creature verses the old creature, that we, as believers are in a constant state of struggling, or warring against!

The good news is, is that like in the parable of the talents, even the parable of the different types of ground? Authority is given, or taken away, depending on how well one does internally!

Labors FOR the Lord, are not ALL ABOUT, bringing people to Christ! Tis also about defeating the old creature within ourselves! for it is here, where the disciplines necessary are learned! Methinks, this is what is called, or referred to, in some circles: Progressive sanctification.

Although, it "seems", that the more success I have in defeating this old creature? The "more", or stronger advocates of the old creature, are given me by God's Grace in my continuing this war!

After all, where was it that Lord God sentenced the serpent to: "Crawl around in the dust?"

And what did Lord God use to make man flesh?

So? Am I a "sinner?" Most definitely!

Am I a "saint?" I would not deem myself so proud, in these flesh eyes, as in "seeing" myself in such lofty company. Reckon, that's why I keep trying harder! :)

when Paul writes almost all His letters, he does not refer to the recipients as either sinners or sinners saved by grace

he calls them saints for the most part..for example, to the saints in Ephesus is how he begins his letter to the Ephesians, or to those loved by God and called to be His holy people (depends on which translation you are using)

Romans, he begins like this:

7 To all in Rome who are loved by God and called to be his holy people:

Grace and peace to you from God our Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ.

holy, means to be set apart. it does not mean to become perfect and never sin again because that would be impossible anyway

if you are a believer you can and should count yourself one of the saints!

we are referred to that way by Paul because it is not our righteousness that creates our standing before God, but the righteousness of Christ Jesus

so when people go around beating their chest and calling themselves a sinner, they need to quit the self reflection and get on board with Paul and the rest of the gang ;)

and of course we also follow Johns instruction with regard to admitting our sins and asking forgiveness not because we have suddenly become unsaved, but because we do not wish to continue in sin

this would be part of examining ourselves
