But what made it "fade into" your mind? I know what you told me in PM, but have you been questioning it all during being a Christian? Like I said earlier, a person cannot just undo being a Christian.. The devil is doing all he can right now to lead believers away from Christianity. Don't fall for his tactics..
Actually, the idea has of infinte possibilities has been introduced to me when I was still a young child, but I never really thought about it that much then. As I grew up, I could see more sense in this idea, but recently...idk, it just keeps popping back to mind, and I couldn't help but ponder about it.

It's quite difficult for me to explain. And it's 10 PM now, so I gotta sleep, lol.

So my next question is, do you know where this thought first originated from?

The reason I ask this, is because it sounds exactly like what all the television shows and movies say... Its what all the celebrities and politicians say....
So do you know what made you think this thought?

My question to you is why are you so eager and adamant about pigeonholing her into some "typically worldly" category? Perhaps she needs to explore other views to be self assured that what shes been believing is right? That does Not have to mean falling into the world but could very well be a very personal need to confirm what she believes. Why, to you, is it so important that she has to be labeled as "deceived by the world"?
Is not a persons faith a journey? Are there not ups and downs? Periods of strong faith and periods of doubt? Can't it simply be a persons journey and part of their story and not be so generically labeled as deceived by the world?
Your determination to push her into a role you've deemed the only option speaks more to you, than her.

Wow can’t believe a 15 year old is getting so much stick for being honest
and saying she is still seeking answers.

Come on folks since when were you all so sure about your beliefs at 15.
I would rather a 15 year old say they don’t know and then seek out the
truth, than pretend they know everything.

WineRose, I would add the following verses. 🙂
Ask God for wisdom and to reveal Himself to you.

Matthew 7:7-11 NKJV
[7] "Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock,
and it will be opened to you. [8] For everyone who asks receives,
and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.
[9] Or what man is there among you who, if his son asks for bread,
will give him a stone? [10] Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him
a serpent? [11] If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts
to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven
give good things to those who ask Him!

#one,
we don't believe that this is a '15' year old speaking
#two,
Miri and some others have gone beyond giving there best to help to what we consider a deceiver,
much to their credit for the love that they feel for their fellow man...
#three,
ask yourself why' someone would go to these lengths to simple try and fool and deceive
God's precious people?
#4,
if you don't get it or understand, it is understandable, and we advise, just 'pray' for such
that would even consider doing such an abominable thing, and know who their master truly is!!!

My first statement will be on you don't like... I would never take your advice on anything pertaining to Christianity. I would take advice from many members here but you are not one for many reasons....

Secondly, I am not pigeonholing her... I asked her open ended questions... Then explained why I was asking those questions as I believe that she heard it from the world before it was a thought. When presented those questions she can answer in any way.

Thirdly, just because it is part of a journey does not mean we don't condemn it. For instance, if person A was a Christian and sinned, does that mean the sin is okay because it is part of a journey? Your statement makes zero sense when broken down.

Fourthly, it is not my determination that makes her fit the bill, it is because she fits the bill period...
I think we could both agree that my opinion on the matter effects nothing. The facts line up, and people explain their thoughts on those facts...
With her statements which I have quoted I have come to the reasonable conclusion that she smells of the world.

I actually believe this to be the exact opposite, your agenda is to get this as just another journey. A no big deal... And 2 simple open ended questions are more than enough to show, your agenda to be standing in sand.
Can your beliefs not hold up to questions?

Now, I think I have made my point here.

I will no longer be replying to any more questions or comments on this thread, because I have said what I have wanted to say already, and it's about time to move on. Also, some of the comments here are already starting to cross the line, even in a controversial topic like this.

Again, I will continue to post my usual stuff like I always do in the Singles and Miscellaneous forums.

Bye bye for now!

Funny how many Christian's show their true colors just for questioning them. Christian's can't stand it when you have the audacity to question them on anything.
This is the dynamic it creates, though. You tell people "this is the only belief system that's right" and it becomes egocentric. Questioning isn't viewed as a chance to clear things up but instead as a chance to push people down.

As far as your first statement goes, I really couldn't care less. I never thought much of you so your opinion of me is pretty much unimportant to begin with.
Twice now I've questioned someone in here for their words and rather than merely explaining they felt a need to make personal attacks.
This coming from people who claim to follow a belief that teaches patience and humility.
And yes, before another attempt to discredit me happens in retaliation I did have the same problem at times. Which only reinforces my belief that following God changes nothing.
There are plenty of dregs in Christianity. And some wonderful people as well. But the same can be said for the world. There is no real distinction. And I've been seeing that a lot over the years here.

Where have I said that questioning it is not allowed? You seem to refer to this alot. Can you show me?

The reason I said I would not take your advice pertaining Christianity is I truly believe you to not be a Christian. So when you give me advice on such I will take it with a grain of salt.
The reason for me not taking your advice, majority of it is that I believe you are not a Christian. The second part is, you are straw manning me.

I will break down your statement.
Is not a persons faith a journey? Yes, but journey to where?
Periods of strong faith and periods of doubt? This is true, there are ups and downs as you said. But where is the line to how far down one can go before you question their heart?
Can't it simply be a persons journey and part of their story and not be so generically labeled as deceived by the world? No, this cannot be. I was an atheist. Was it part of my journey? Yes, but I was deceived by the world. Just because it is part of your journey does not mean everything you do is correct.
Your determination to push her into a role you've deemed I am not pushing her into a "role". I asked questions and said what I believed... I did not choose this as THE "role", it is what God says...
The only option speaks more to you, than her. There is only 1 way to God... There is not many... Christ talks about being like the world... I did not make this up as a "role". Do I fall into this myself? Yes, I smell of the world in a lot of aspects.

But let's take your advice, just encourage them, and let them go their path without anyone saying anything different... You are a perfect example, how has it worked for you? According to your own words not very well...
And I also, currently, am not sure where I stand in terms of what I believe, after nearly 30 years.
Reactions went be too bad, though there's always the scripture slingers. And I got told I lacked faith when I posted on questioning God. But most people were supportive.

So since you don't like "scripture slingers" intellectualize your thoughts on this. How can it be beneficial to encourage those who say that the bible is not the full truth, that religion is about feeling not fact, and avoid the bible for any real answers?
