If God is all powerful, all knowing and totally Sovereign, there is no such thing as free will.
The idea of free will implies that there is a force outside of God's control.
That would mean that God is not omnipotent or Sovereign.
Where in the bible does it teach that human beings have free will? Hmm?
Claiming that we have "free will" is tantamount to self-deification because it dethrones God as King and replaces it with self.
If we do not have free will and God chooses who will be saved and not saved without our choice then consider this.
That would mean God's kingdom is not true love, for they have no choice but to accept the truth seeing no other alternative.
That would mean that God would condemn people that have no choice but to reject the truth seeing no other alternative, and God is not evil.
Not having free will goes against God's nature that He is love, and not evil.
That means their faith is not real, their confession of Christ is not real, their repenting of their sins is not real, their belief in God is not real, their hope is not real, and their accepting of the truth is not real, for it did not come from them but God.
If we do not have free will then we are a robot programmed to either accept, or reject truth, and how is that true love, and that would not come from a God that is the greatest love of all, and would mean people have more love towards each other than God and His saints, for people choose to love each other.
God giving us free will does not mean He is not sovereign and not all powerful, it only means His kingdom is based on true love, and He will punish the evil doers that reject truth showing He is the one in charge, and rules.
1Ti 2:3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;
1Ti 2:4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.
Act 17:29 Forasmuch then as we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Godhead is like unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and man's device.
Act 17:30 And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent.
2Pe 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
Rev 22:17 And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.
Joh 1:9 That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.
God says He wants all people to be saved, and the Spirit and bride say anybody can have that salvation, and Jesus lights every person that is born in this world, which means everybody has the chance at salvation.
Jesus is the Lamb that takes away the sins of the world, so then all people can accept the truth if they want.
We did not choose God, but He chose us.
No person comes to the Son unless the Father draws them.
No person can say Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost.
Peter confessed Jesus as the Christ, the Son of the living God, which flesh and blood did not reveal that to him but the Father.
Many are called but few are chosen.
We have the choice to accept the truth, but no person accepts the truth unless God intervenes in their life to get them to the truth when He called them, but some do not walk through the door of truth when God works in their life to get them to the truth.
And the truth is accepting Jesus as Lord and Savior, and to be led of the Spirit hating sins, and abstaining from sins, for the Lord knows them that are His having this seal, for this is what seals them, and the way they are led of the Spirit, that everyone that names the name of Christ depart from iniquity, which Jesus said not everyone that calls Him Lord will be saved, for they were workers of iniquity.
Which some people when they repented of their sins still held unto sins and thought they were alright with God, which the Bible says they have a form of godliness, but deny the power thereof, ever learning but never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
And some people accepted the truth, but went back to the sinful lifestyle and held unto sins after they were cleansed, and were compared to a sow that was cleaned going back to her wallowing in the mud, and a dog returning to his own vomit, in which it would of been better for them to not have known the truth than to know it and reject it which is to abstain from sins.
Which the Bible says if they do not continue in the goodness of God they will be cut off, and there is no excuse for a Spirit led life will not fulfill the lusts of the flesh, for they have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts, and show the ways of the Spirit, and God will not allow them to be tempted above what they are able, and give them an escape from the temptation so they can bear it.
We do have a choice to accept or reject the truth for God's kingdom is true love, and many are called but few are chosen, so God does the calling and choosing on earth, for if God chooses who will be saved without their choice then why is God calling people who cannot be chosen, and He would only work in the lives of those He chose, so why is He working in the lives of people He called but did not get chosen.
