The gospel

I think this should sum it up just fine.

That is a good attitude, but it is not the gospel. The bible says the gospel is the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. And we must obey the gospel by dying to self, being buried in the watery grave of baptism, and being raised a new creature in Christ. There is only one way the bible says we get into Christ- we are baptized into His death so that just as He was raised we too can share in His resurrection. (Romans 6).

"With flames of fire He will take vengeance on those who know not God and who obey not the gospel of His Son. " 2 Thesalonians 1:8

By the foolishness of preaching He saved them that believe. We've got to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ using the words of Scripture.

Doing good works and living a good life (social gospel) only makes this world a better place in which to go to hell from.

True and the Bible also says that the gospel is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that BELIEVES.. (Romans 1:16).

We obey the gospel by choosing to believe the gospel. Romans 10:16 - But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah says, “Lord, who has believed our report?” We are baptized by one Spirit into one body.. (1 Corinthians 12:13). You are confusing the picture (water baptism) with the reality (Spirit baptism) and the end result is a "different" gospel.

Since all men are born with "no faith", not little but none . We need the faith of Christ that comes from hearing God before we can beleive the gospel. We can plant the seed and water it but He must give us the power of the gospel that works in us to both will and do His good pleasure . (imputed righteousness). No faith.... no power to beleive.

So, as much as in me is, I am ready to preach the gospel to you that are at Rome also. For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.

The gift is faith.

The Gospel is the good news that the Messiah Jesus came to earth and suffered the death penalty that is upon all sinners (( that's all human beings)) That if one believe Jesus and trusts that His death pays the penalty for ones transgressions against the will of God,, One will be granted eternal life and be transformed into a perfect being to live with Jesus forever and ever..

That is truly good news..

I can't believe anyone who say such a thing! The good news of the gospel consist of being Christ-like which reflects Jesus in us. Jesus said, "follow me."

The scriptures say...

Be imitators of me, as I am of Christ.

So you also must consider yourselves dead to sin and alive to God in Christ Jesus.

He must increase, but I must decrease.”

Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death?

“May the Lord make your love increase and overflow for each other and for everyone else”

I've always said that Christians can't agree on anything and your reply proves it.

Joh 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Sometimes you are the only gospel people see and hear. We forget that what the Lord has revealed to us saints is not common knowledge. Not known by the world.
Let your light shine saints. Jesus was over joyed to bring you the good news from the father. With passion and conviction and a sincere love he told of the news then without any regrets he showed the most wonderful display of love this world ever received.

Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Let's enter in to that joy saints. Come out from among them. Be ye holy as your God is holy.
For that same love that God showed his only begotten is the same love he has for you.

The Gospel is OBJECTIVE TRUTH (GOD'S TRUTH) not subjective experience (although that can be helpful).

Gospel.....good news......so what good news did you hear that made you come to Christ???

Forgiveness of sin I knew but the hook was that God chooses to remember no more. In his eyes your born again. Wow what a relief.
Satan comes in and says....hey....remember the time when....and you start getting knock down to the point where you feel God klnda holds it against ya but still forgives sorta like being the bigger person. Saints that's a lie God chooses to remember no more.
