Does divine punishment include sending people to hell for eternity? If so, it seems more like retribution rather than discipline.
Yes, God does not discipline the non-elect. He leaves them to their own destruction and judges them at the last day.

God did not divinely punish the wicked to hell. He did not divinely punish them at all. He left them to their own destruction and had God not choosen some, all of us would go to hell by our own destruction. I wonder, at times, why God did not choose all mankind as his elect, but God's ways are not to be understood by our finite minds. We just have to study the scriptures and pray that the Holy Spirit within us will continue to reveal some of God's mysteries to us.

If God choose everyone, then everyone would go to heaven and the scriptures will not uphold that theory.
It is God's will and desire that all should be saved and I believe that He is certainly able to accomplish this. I also believe in every word in the bible and it does certainly imply that no one gets to the Father except through his son Jesus and through the power of the Holy Spirit. The bible does not state specifically by name anyone that will be eternally separated from the love of Go. I also believe that God hears and answers all prayer that is aligned with His will and desire and a prayer for someone's salvation, or the salvation of everyone that had ever lived, despite the seemingly impossible circumstance, would lead to the salvation of such person or persons.

In the book of Revelation John was told not to write what the 7 Thunders said to him yet the true nature of God will be revealed,, and that nature is that God is love. What the 7 Thunders told John will not change a single thing scripturally about salvation but may indeed change the dynamic of one's understanding about it. Also, Paul was told something in a vision that he was not allowed to write about and then there was the time that Jesus wrote on the ground while the crowd was chanting that the woman caught in adultery must be stoned according to the law.

Until it is revealed what the 7 Thunders told John, and what was told to Paul in the vision and what exactly Jesus wrote on the ground, the full true meaning of scripture, especially pertaining to salvation cannot be fully understood but one day all things will be clear regarding this.

It is my prayer that everyone receives salvation by the shed blood of Jesus dying on the cross for the remission of sins and true repentance by inviting the Holy Spirit to live in their hearts to comfort and guide them on their spiritual journey. I am not saying at all that this is what scripture teaches and would never tell anyone that they will be saved regardless of how they conduct themselves and the choices they make on earth while they are alive. Still this is my hope and prayer that all will come to know and love the Lord.

I believe in the last judgement, elect and non elect is judge in the same court room

The elect for forgiveness and non elect for punishment

Matt 25

31 When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory:
32 And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats:
33 And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.
34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:
35 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:
36 Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.
37 Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?
38 When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?
39 Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?
40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.
41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:
42 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink:
43 I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not.
44 Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee?

All of the elect are judged, by God's chastening, as we live in this world, so, we are judged by our works, not in order to get to heaven, but because we are his children and he loves us. Somewhere in the scriptures it says those fathers who do not chasten their children, do not love them.
The elect are judged? For what? Whatever happens was foreordained by God. How could the elect be held responsible?:)

Here are my views on the God's capabilities: He is all powerful, in that, he can, and does, accomplish all his will. He has all foreknowledge. He is everywhere present at the same time. Dan 4:35 - And all the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing, and he doeth according to his will in the army of heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth; and none can stay his hand, or say unto him, What doest thou? Isaiah 46:9-10, Remember the former things of old; for I am God, and there is none else; I am God and there is none else like me, Declaring the end from the beginning , and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure. In view of these scriptures, don't you think if God wanted all mankind to be saved eternally, that he could do it?

Forgiveness for the elect was accomplished on the cross. Not at the last day. They stand before God, in his eyes, as wholly and without blame before him in love from that event on the cross.

Tourist, Paul said:
2 Cor. 6:2 "(For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.)"

He was quoting Isaiah:
Isa. 49:8 "Thus saith the LORD, In an acceptable time have I heard thee, and in a day of salvation have I helped thee: and I will preserve thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, to establish the earth, to cause to inherit the desolate heritages"

Many preachers like to say this is the only day and if you don't accept Jesus right now you will burn forever in hellfire. No one has the right to say that. No one will burn forever. No one is condemned until God is completely done with his plans for mankind.

Paul also said:
2 Cor. 5:18 "And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation."

A lot more people will have a chance to serve God than this first-fruits church. The only people that God will not save is those that loved darkness rather than the light. That is because their deeds are evil. God is purging evil from the universe. Romans 6:23 says the wages of sin is death, not everlasting life in fire.

The elect, after they have been regenerated and are children of God are sometimes disobedient and are judged here on earth by God's chastening rod. Once they are children of God, they will always be his children and he has a place prepared in heaven for them.

Matt 25:34, Then shall the king say unto them on his right hand, come ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you ( those God choose in Eph 1:4) from the foundation of the world. The elect are given blessings for their good works and punishment for their bad works, by God's chastening as they live on this earth. We will not have to fear about having to give an account of our works at the last day. God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of a sound mind.
Despite scripture to the contrary you continue to blather on in your error. You cherry pick fragments of scriptures to cobble them together to create a false narrative.

You refuse to learn and continue to endeavor to teach error.

Jas 4:8 Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.

Those who refuse to be saved do so of their own free will. To enter into hell you must step over the cross of Christ. They do so not of ignorance but of self will.

Hi there PennEd. Do you really want everyone to be saved. I think that would be most unkind to the one that practices evil. Do you believe in cause and effect? Those in the East call it Karma. If you have ever met someone truly evil, they stay sequestered because they don't want their deeds revealed.

They live like hermits and have no friends. They want no friends, for fear of being called down for their deeds. They sneak around and cover up their tracks. Constantly living in fear. The evil are better off dead. That is the kindest thing for them.

We are or at least were all wicked and practiced evil. Sin is wicked and evil, and Scripture says all of us have sinned. So yes, I wish ALL would repent and and understand their need of a Savior and accept Jesus. The thief on the cross was wicked. Convicted murderers who confessed Jesus at the last were wicked. Deathbed sinners confessions of untold people were wicked. You and I before we accepted Christ and were born again were wicked. Unlike Tourist I don't believe all will come to this repentance.

I think they will trample on the Blood of Jesus by refusing to repent, or rely on their own works. Their destruction will then be just.

no choice in the matter, but still have choice...
I believe the scriptures to teach that God gave man the freedom to choose how he wants to live his life here on earth. Deut 30:19 - I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing, therefore choose life that both thou and thy seed may live. Moses is instructing The nation of Israel before they cross over into the promised land. Deut 7:6 - For thou art an holy people unto the Lord thy God; the Lord thy God hath chosen thee to be a special people unto himself, above all people that are upon the face of the earth. The life that God is telling them to choose is not eternal life, but the good life that he has promised them if they will follow his commandments. This is the same life he has reference to in Matthew when he talks about the strait gate and the narrow way that leadeth to life and few there be that find it. Joshua made a choice to worship God, so, yes, we are given a free choice, by God, on how we want to live our lives here on earth, but God makes the choice of our eternal destination.
