“For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?”—1 John 5:4-5

It is a scriptural fact that God allows Christians to go through tribulations or adversities. No matter how close someone is to God, he can still face trials of faith. God does not promise us a tribulation-free walk with him here in this present world. But he does guarantee us the victory in every tribulation we face.

Here are the exact words of our Lord Jesus Christ:

These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world”—John 16:33

In the above scripture, The Lord says clearly that in this present world, we shall have tribulation. Then immediately, he tells us to be of good cheer, because he had overcome the world. Why does he tell us to be cheerful over his victory? Because he actually secured the victory for us his believers…

Everyone and anyone who believes in Jesus, immediately becomes a partaker of our Lord’s victory over the world.

The believer doesn’t have to die first or wait until Jesus returns before partaking of this victory. All anyone has to do to partake of our Lord Jesus’ victory, is to just believe in Jesus as the Son of God. Our opening text in 1 John 5:4-5 confirms this eternal truth.

But the irony of it all is that many believers in Christ Jesus have not truly understood this fact. Hence they are not enjoying this triumphant and champion life in Christ Jesus. Instead, they are defeated and victimized by the exact same thing the Lord secured victory for them. They are knocked and trashed by the exact same forces they have been made champions over.

Many have already thrown in the towel and have accepted defeat. While on the other hand, many have bent scriptures to align with their failure and unbelief. And they have consequently daubed the preachers of the undiluted truth of God’s word “False Teachers”. And of course, they erroneously believe they would be justified by their hypocritical lambastes.

In this article, we want to scripturally see the exact areas of life which our victory in Christ Jesus covers.

The Scope of The Believer’s Victory

Our opening text says whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world. ‘Overcometh’ is in the present continuous tense. This is to say the believer keeps on overcoming. Below is a list of the believer’s area of victory in Christ Jesus.

  • Victory Over Sin: The word of God tells us that the major vice of the world is sin. Sin in the form of the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life (1 John 2: 16). And because we are in Christ, we do have absolute victory over sin by the grace of God in us. Hence the word of God says, sin shall not have dominion over us (Romans 6:14). And if sin shall not have dominion over us, it therefore means we have dominion or victory over sin.
  • Victory Over the Devils: “You are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world” –1 John 4:4
The devil and his agents, are the major foes of Christians. But the scripture above makes us understand that we have overcome them. In other words, they keep challenging the believer from one point and the other, but each time they do, the believer keeps on giving them a knock out.

So the believer is a champion over the devil and his cohorts. And the devils are defeated foes before the believer.
  • Victory Over Sickness And Diseases: From scriptures, we also see that the believer already has victory or dominion over sickness and diseases through the stripes of Jesus before his death. Here is exactly what the word of God says:

“Who his own self bore our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes you were healed”—1Peter 2:24. Then again Matthew 8:17 reads “That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying, He himself took our infirmities, and bore our sicknesses

And as such, we have absolute victory over sickness and diseases. No matter the kind of sickness or disease.
  • Victory Over Lack and Want: “For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that you through his poverty might be rich”—2 Corinthians 8:9. If you read this scripture in context, from verse 1, and even the whole of chapter 9, it is very clear that this scripture refers to material riches not spiritual riches in this context.

If you read in context, you will see that the Apostle Paul was talking about material ministration to the saints and the giving grace. Yes Christians are principally spiritually rich, but this scripture refers to material riches. Jesus was only materially poor while he was here on earth. And the Apostle Paul by the Spirit tells us he was poor, so we through his poverty might be materially rich.

And of course, these riches come to us principally through the works of our hands. God blesses the works of our hands so we can have enough for his work and ministering to the saints (2 Corinthians 9:8). Hence, by Jesus’ poverty while he was here on earth, every believer has dominion over lack and want. A believer can face financial or material challenge sometime, but eventually he overcomes by faith.
  • Victory Over Second Death: “verily, verily, I say unto you, he that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.”—John 5:24

“He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; he that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death” – Revelation 2:11.

The above scripture tells us that the overcomers shall not be hurt of the second death. And our opening scripture tells us that the overcomer is the born again believer.
So there you have it. Every believer in Christ Jesus is a champion in every area of life. A believer can be challenged or face tribulation in any area of life. But armed with his champion heritage in Christ Jesus, he is to exercise his or her faith in God for conquest any and every time he is challenged. Anyone born again in Christ Jesus is born a champion. So believe it, confess it all the time and act it. And by the grace of God, you are guaranteed of all-time conquest.

Sinless in the flesh preaching... False doctrine..

Prosperity doctrine preachings... False doctrine..

So i stand against these teachings.. No one ceases to sin in this flesh life.. And no one is gaurenteed material wealth and prosperity by the Gospel in this world..

Paul warned that there will be preachers who would align Godliness with material gain.. Paul made it clear that a servent of the LORD should only expect to be provided with ( raiment ) clothes and food and to be content if thats all we ever recieve in this life from the LORD..

1 Timothy 6: KJV
4 "He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings, {5} Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself. {6} But godliness with contentment is great gain. {7} For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. {8} And having food and raiment let us be therewith content. {9} But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. {10} For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. {11} But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness."

Huh?
I reread it and got none of your reaction at all.
What specifically are you talking about?

These two quotes are taken from the opening post::

Victory Over Sin
: The word of God tells us that the major vice of the world is sin.
If one has victory over sin then one stops sinning.. If one sins then the claim that they have victory over sin is a false claim.. To claim we can have victory over sin when we cannot have victory over sin is a false doctrine..

Victory Over Lack and Want
: “For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that you through his poverty might be rich”—2 Corinthians 8:9. If you read this scripture in context, from verse 1, and even the whole of chapter 9, it is very clear that this scripture refers to material riches not spiritual riches in this context.

This is prosperty doctrine pure and simple..

So the post was preaching sinlessness in the flesh and prosperity doctrine.. Both of which i will stand against..

Prosperity doctrine is error by emphasis.
Over reaction results in casting out verses.
If you hate healing and material supply then refuse your pay check and never thank him at the table for suppling your table with food, and never pray to be healed,it is his will for you to be sick.
Both are evil correct?
No,increase is good and healing is good.
And if there is not provision to walk holy then Jesus must not have left the power to walk in holiness.
Some do,and some don't. Those that fail and sin are not the standard. The standard remains. It is us who fail.
Our failure does not change the standard.
We CHOOSE to sin. The Holy Ghost EMPOWERS us to resist and conquer what the law failed at.
You are jettisoning Gods word out of paranoia, not sound doctrine.
There is a "duping" going on that is robbing beleivers.
False teachers stepping in and litterally trashing the word of God using the error of WOF as their standard.
This is very subtle and cunning.
Healing becomes bad
A higher paycheck is horrible
Suffering and poverty and even sickness glorified.
They can't discern blessing,or enjoy the goodness of God in increase.
Jesus prayed "...on earth as it is in heaven"
Heaven has all good. Healing, abundance, peace, joy, etc.
Its like your children . you bless them and you correct them and punish them.
When they are punished they are not given rewards. Rewards are withheld.
God is like that. That is why Paul said he is satisfied with abundance as well as lack.
WOF is error by emphasis. They think we should never suffer or lack in provisions. That is error. We are not going to escape suffering and lack. But healing and abundance are our PORTION nonetheless.

This is what you get when you oppose prosperity doctrine.. They build a strawman under you and then burn it..

I never said God does not cause material blessings to come into the hands of His followers.. but that position is projected upon you by prosperity supporters if you dare attack their doctrine that If you are a true Christian God will make you rich.. and if your not rolling in cash and luxury then you are not a good Christian or even a false Christian. This is the prosperity doctrine that moves people to admire and love the rich and to have contempt for the poor..

I never said God does not bring miraculous healing to Christians who are sick.. But that position is projected upon you by prosperity supporters if you dare attack their doctrine that if you are a true Christian God will cause you to have perfect health.. And if you are sick and not being healed then that just shows you are a false Christian without faith.. This is the prosperity doctrine that moves people to admire people in great health and to have no care for the sick or the deformed since obviously the sick and handicapped must be false Christians and not loved by God..

Those that fail and sin are not the standard. The standard remains. It is us who fail.
Our failure does not change the standard.
We CHOOSE to sin. The Holy Ghost EMPOWERS us to resist and conquer what the law failed at.
And this is what sinlessness in the flesh doctrine believers preach.. to their own condemnation.. Because one thing is for sure Absolutly and emekrus are not living a life in sinless perfection.. Thus when they declare that """The Holy Ghost EMPOWERS us to resist and conquer what the law failed at""" and they then sin once they are declaring that the Holy Spirit is not with them and if anyone else sins then the Holy Spirit is not empowering them thus all you people out there who sin do not have the Holy Spirit and thus you are damned to the eternal lake of fire too..

Woe to those who preach such things because they will be held up to the standard they preached.. Remember if you ever fail to do a good thing you know you should do then to you it is sin.. Remember if you ever even look at a woman to lust over her then you have committed adultery and thus have sinned.. Remember if you ever have a moment of hate towards another human being then you are are as a murderer and thus have sinned.. Woe to anyone who preaches sinlessness in the flesh upon the moment they sin because by their very own preaching they are condemned..

I know a few of their doctrines and disagree without hesitation.
Most are mis application.
The standard still remains.
If someone is sick and not healed it could be a lot of things.
What some half cocked teachers will tell us,is it must not be his will.
Again as the earthly parent example illustrates, you may want your child to hunt or drive a car ( the parents will) but you dont pitch the keys or the rifle to them if they are a toddler or some rebellious delinquent.... Even though it is your will.

God takes us in our walk through good and bad.
How can we know his power except through trials.
Victory denotes battle.
Every battle is won.
One must be able to discern the enemy.
The main 3 are the world, the flesh, and the devil.
We have victory. It is our portion

Hello Dear,

If you go through my post, you'll see scriptures appended to each point of victory I made. If you disagree, could please explain your own version of the appended scriptures?

Yes, the word of God says we have dominion over sin. Yes the word of God says we have victory over sickness and diseases. Yes the word of God says we have victory over lack and want. It also says we have dominion over the devil and his agents.

If you agree we have victory over the devil and his agents, why would have problem agreeing we also have victory over his works?

Just curious...

And this is what sinlessness in the flesh doctrine believers preach.. to their own condemnation.. Because one thing is for sure Absolutly and emekrus are not living a life in sinless perfection.. I know a couple in Tennessee that are rhema grads. They have rejected much of the overkill doctrine of prosperity.
I have never heard those abuses you alleged mentioned.
I think you have exagerrated somewhat.
