This started off to make fun of sail boats. Some think they'er romantic but all I've ever seen or heard about on them is work! I like ships with engines aboard.
Yes, from what I can see about sailing it is work, but they are inexpensive to operate. I had a friend in Redondo Beach that had a 55 foot schooner fitted with two diesel inboard engines. Boy did they burn the fuel. He said he had to have as least $2500 just to get it out past the breakwaters to break even. This was in the 1970s.
