Is seems there is a movement or segment of people here on CC who appose or disregard the teachings of Paul.
Is this a true statement?
If so how is it justified?

People can justify anything they choose. But since Peter calls of of Paul's epistles "Scripture" that closes the case.

Anyone who states or believes that is ignorant.....the bible is clear...JESUS CALLED SAUL, SAVED SAUL, CHANGED HIS NAME TO PAUL, TAUGHT PAUL BY DIRECT REVELATION, INSPIRED PAUL TO WRITE ALMOST HALF OF THE NEW TESTAMENT and even PETER attests to the fact that PAUL was of God and proclaimed the word of God....

The ignorance that runs through so called Christiandom is astounding!!

Do they think because Paul did not Walk with Jesus,. that he don't know what he is talking about?

I notice that nobody who seriously questions whether Paul's writings are Scripture has responded yet. I suspect none will. The trouble is that those who are honestly seeking and questioning, and not merely trolling, probably won't contribute either, for fear of being called unpleasant names. I don't know of anyone who appreciates that.

Perhaps we would all do well to remember that we, too, were once enemies of Christ...

"Remind the people ... to slander no one, to be peaceable and considerate, and always to be gentle toward everyone. At one time we too were foolish, disobedient, deceived and enslaved by all kinds of passions and pleasures. We lived in malice and envy, being hated and hating one another. But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior" (Titus 3:1-6, NIV).

Can you give the thread and post number or numbers where people are opposing or disregarding the teachings of Paul. I am not sure that I have seen this on CC.

People won't openly come out to defend their beliefs of Paul because they more imply their beliefs than anything and cannot just openly state their beliefs because personally I think deep down they know their error.

There is this as well (from the Lord Himself):

.........Acts 9
.........15 ..The Lord said to him [Ananias], “Go, for he [Paul] is a chosen instrument of Mine, to bear My name before the Gentiles
.........and kings and the sons of Israel;

.........16 ..for I will show him how much he must suffer for My name’s sake.”

And there are these statements (as well as others, of course).

.........Acts 13
.........1 There were at Antioch, in the church that was there, prophets and teachers: Barnabas, and Simeon who was called Niger,
.........and Lucius of Cyrene, and Manaen who had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch, and Saul.
.........2 While they were ministering to the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, “Set apart for Me Barnabas and Saul for the work
.........to which I have called them.

.........Galatians 1
.........1 ..Paul, an apostle (not sent from men nor through the agency of man, but through Jesus Christ and God the Father, who
.........raised Him from the dead)....
.........11 ..I would have you know, brethren, that the gospel which was preached by me is not according to man.

.........12 ..For I neither received it from man, nor was I taught it, but I received it through a revelation of Jesus Christ.
.........

I haven't seen a movement where people "oppose" Paul. I can see clear evidence where people misunderstand Paul, and are very selective of his words choosing this sentence or that to promote a religious view, and omitting others which don't promote the religious view.

But we were already warned about such behavior so it shouldn't be a surprise when it is made manifest in our life.

2 Pet. 3:
13 Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.
14 Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.
15 And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you;
16 As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.
17 Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness.
18 But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.

I do believe there is a movement to oppose the teaching of the Word which became Flesh, and I believe "many" religious men "Wrest" some of Paul's words to promote this religious movement, while ignoring other words which show Paul and Jesus were of one mind.

I think many christians have problems with what Paul wrote about women and about their position towards husband or in church.

They will say it was cultural, for that time, because of conditions in Corinth etc.

But, because of some reason unknown to me, they will still answer "yes" to a question "is everything Paul wrote a valid Scripture?" Such a stance is inconsistent, IMHO.

ROMANS 1:1-2.
Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God,
(Which He had promised afore by His prophets in The Holy scriptures,)

1:8-9-10-11-12.
First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all, that your faith is spoken of throughout the whole world.

For God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of His Son, that without ceasing
I make mention of you always in my prayers;

Making request, if by any means now at length I might have a prosperous journey by the will of God to come unto you.

For I long to see you, that I may impart unto you some Spiritual gift, to the end ye may be established;

That is, that I may be comforted together with you by the mutual faith both of you and me.

for those who don't know or love Paul for his unfailing love, sacrifice, service to mankind, we can only hope and pray
that you one day will, by God's grace...

well that would be the Sabbatarians and we have a couple of those threads ongoing right now and there have been others in the past

hard liners will come right out and state they believe Paul is questionable...rogue even

and others will hint at kind of 'skipping' over Paul and others twist what Paul wrote to the point you can no longer recognize it as having been written by him in the first place

but they like Hebrews since the authorship is questionable...but the twisted version if you please

I would suggest to those who doubt this is true, do some research right here in the forum and you will find this to be true

now waiting for a Sabbatarian to come along and declare this is not true

Personally I believe everything Paul says knowing where he gets his information from.

He took a lot of heat for following the instructions of Almighty God from the Mainstream Preachers of his time, as did Jesus for walking the same walk.

Acts 24:
13 Neither can they prove the things whereof they now accuse me.
14 But this I confess unto thee, that after the way which they call heresy, so worship I the God of my fathers, believing all things which are written in the law and in the prophets:

Rom. 1:
16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith. (Habakkuk verse from the old testament)

18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;

Paul understood and believed that the Old Testament (Law and Prophets) is where we learn about the God he worshipped. (Of his fathers, Abraham, Isaac, etc.) It is the Gospel of Christ as Paul said.

He specifically told his brother Timothy where we find this information and instructed him, not only to study, but what to study.

15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
16 But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.

2Tim. 3: 12 Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.

13 But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.

14 But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them;

15 And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. (The Word which became Flesh)

16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

I find Paul's writings perfectly in line with the Law and Prophets and find his insight both fascinating and hugely enlightening.

I thank God for him and the other who suffered so much at the hands of the Mainstream Preachers of his time.

Notice the categorization, , "sabbatarians," I wonder how the one coining that phrse would like the label of being an apostate?

yes Jaume..what about the categorization? did I make it up? is it a bad word or dirty in some way?

no it isn't. so why object. you do insist on keeping the Sabbath, so what is the problem?

I'll tell you what...it's much nicer than being told you are not saved...I know you have not said that, but others have and right in this forum to those who are not Sabbatarians

no I did not make it up and we also have Sabbath Keepers, SDA's etc

how about Paul then? what do you think of him? that's what the op is about

did God send him out or not?

I suppose it is fine as long as you know Jesus is the same, and He has taught us all to imitate Him and not a group who vote contrary to His perfect example.

those that have issues with Paul believe He teaches a different gospel than Jesus. some believe the only valid NT scriptures are from Jesus and the 12. and there are some that link him with the false teacher.
IMO he is a good teacher. those that think he teaches different than Jesus are misunderstanding Paul.
