Hey! Message of the Cross... PTL! : )
Jn 14:16 "And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another comforter, that he may abide with you for ever."
Jn 16:7 "Nevertheless I tell you the truth; it is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you."
Jn 14:26 "But the comforter, which is the Holt Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things unto your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you."
Jn 15:26 "But when the comforter is come, whom I will send un to you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me."
Jn 16:13 "Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will show you things to come."
So, in the above scriptures, we can see that the Holy Spirit was sent from the Father and will teach us all things. He speaks not of himself, but brings whatever Jesus said unto our remembrance to testify of Jesus.
Jn 16:8-11 "And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment. Of sin because they believe not on me; of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more; of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged."
The Holy Spirit reproves the world of sin: tells us that the Holy Spirit convicts the lost person of their sin as the Lord is calling that person to himself. He reproves the world of righteousness, since Jesus is with the Father and we see him no more. This is how the Holy Spirit fulfills the whole purpose of the NT by writing the scriptures that we study onto the tables of our hearts and minds transforming us into Jesus' moral image and we do righteousness because we have been change from the inside out. And the Holy Spirit reproves the devil and his demons when they cross our path for they have been judged by the Lord Jesus Christ.
1 Jn 5:8 "And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one."
The Holy Spirit uses the water, which is the word of God and the blood to minister Jesus to the lost for salvation and to the church for righteousness. The Holy Spirit makes the word to be Jesus to us, Spirit to spirit, and we learn of him. He also shows us things to come too.
1 Cor 12:13 "For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit."
It is the Holy Spirit that ministers the true baptism to the church, along with the day to day operation of the body of Christ.
Eph 4:30 "And grieve not the Holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption."
When one grows to maturity and walks in the Spirit, denying the lusts of the flesh and is ministering an anointing slowly grows and grows. This anointing is a physical manifestation of the Lord's presence resting upon that person and is felt by all who come near. The anointing is withdrawn by sin which grieves the Holy Spirit. Its like he gets hurt rather than angry at us when we stumble so.
Maranatha!
