Quote for the day: "Whoever dies with the most toys, wins."

i never did figure out what the person with the most toys wins when he dies though, and I'm afraid to ask.
LOL!

Some people work well under stress and some don't. I was in management twice in my life and I loved it. I don't fall to pieces when things start getting chaotic. I get very methodical and work through the crisis. I know what authority is and I can delegate the workload well. It is seldom boring in management.

The twice in management does not count when I was running rehab homes in the mission field. So I guess that makes it three time I was a manager.

I do have to wonder about things such as Ryan Higa.

Many people might recognize the name--he was famous for having a song on YouTube about how "Nice Guys Finish Last" that talks about how women only date bad guys, so the guys in the video all start taking classes on how to treat women badly.

He has an insanely popular YouTube channel, and I was reading that he had originally been studying nuclear medicine, but decided he wanted to make a career out of making YouTube videos instead.

Things like this make me wonder what God thinks of situations like this--does the world need more doctors, or does it need more YouTube stars? Then again, just because he was studying the field doesn't mean he was cut out for it.

Once upon a time, I was studying to be a criminal psychologist. However, looking back, I'm pretty sure that even if I would have made it, I would have burned out in 6 months. Even with my preliminary studies, I was getting frustrated by all the red tape thrown out by insurance companies and political correctness. I couldn't stand it when some of the people I encountered who had broken the law thought it was everyone else who had done wrong, not them, and the world owed them some kind of retribution on a silver platter.

And so, I just have a simple little job that most guys would pass over as just a nobody wasting her life away. I remember the engineer who looked at me with pity when we talked about our jobs. And I'm definitely not someone who attracts lawyers, doctors, CEO's, or anyone with a prestigious career.

But, I'm fairly satisfied with where I'm at, and hopefully will find someone who would take the chance to get to know me and maybe even think that I just might potentially have a lot to offer. :)

That's another thing to consider. Just because I have the strength, intelligence or agility to do something doesn't mean I will be able to do it for a long time. There is a big difference between potential now and potential for the long-haul.

If I were a store manager, for example, my attention to detail would make me a great store manager for a couple of weeks. Then I would quickly burn out.

I think some folks have a rather skewed view of what women want. I believe most women want to be treated with respect by a gentleman.

Yeah, that’s typical for criminals, everybody but themselves is to blame. It’s the police, the judge or the victim of their wicked ways who is to blame. Never them. Never.

Miss Kim, you’re a wonderful lady and any man that gets to know you is a real lucky guy. You’re pretty, smart and definitely a good catch.

You have a tremendous amount to offer to a man considering a prospective relationship. And no, you are not wasting your life away but just faithfully accomplishing the work that your Heavenly Father has prepared for you beforehand. When it is time for a change He will let you know.

I think there is a big difference in worldly potential verses spiritual potential.

My ex husband for example. I did not set out to change him. I only prayed he would finally mature. After, I said I do, he seemed to change and become needy and controlling. Never stable. But I played a role in this and there were warning signs I seemed to ignore. We all make changes and adapt to certain things. Its just how it is. ( which way the toilet paper goes, putting the toilet seat down, times we eat meals, sharing chores ECT...) Bring two people into one requires certain changes each person goes through.
I may see great potential in my mate, it is not my place to suggest he change. That is between him and the Lord. My place is to make sure he has peace at home and confidence to pursue what the Lord is calling him to do. Not nag him to do what I want him to do. Now if he tells me he will take out the trash, I would expect that from him. If I see he has had a rough day and forgets. Gees we all have them. I will let him know we are ok. Now if he is unstable in his ways. We would not be together. Stable for me, ( spiritually, emotionally, mentally, and yes financially, meaning he does not live above his means, a good Stewart )
We all look at someone's potential even as parents. It is what we do about it, that's the difference. My son for example. He married a young woman, I believe is a bad fit. He does have so many natural talents, and gifts, and she is alot like my ex manipulating and controlling. Yet he shares with me almost everything. I know his feeling. But I do not use that against him and try to change his decisions or make him do what I believe is best for him. I simply told him, "son you have to live with this decision, if this is what you want, you have my support and love". This was after we openly discussed her faults, theirmany break ups and their differences. He went in with his eyes wide open. As his mother that's all I needed to know. I pray for them both. I pray this marriage will be blessed. But it is not my place to change either one of them. Only to listen to them when they need an ear, to encourage, and to pray. I love my son, that I would lay down my life for him. I do not wish to change him. Even when I disagree with some of his decisions. If I bend him to my will, then he no longer grows on his own and he is no longer him but my design of him. That is no life for anyone. Only the Lord has the right to bend someone, and even he the creator gives free will. If you truly love someone you except them for who they are now. Not who they may become. That's how I figure it anyway.

Maybe I'm cut from different cloth than the ave. Woman. I see a so called bad boy, I go the other way. I know they have nothing I want. I don't want a (yes man either)

I think 90% of women who seek lawyers and doctors ECT... Are seeking a certain life style. Power, Prestige and money. Not all but most. My friend I believe from what I heard you write you are higher than that. You seem to have a big heart. Don't let a man or woman's worldly view of success change how you feel about yourself.

Studying nuclear medicine sounds very impressive but I actually thought about going into that because i was a pharmacy tech. It's not a type of doctor. Nuclear medicine is just preparing chemo medications. As a nuclear med technician one would have to wear a protective suit complete with a geiger counter and step into a decontamination room every time they enter and exit the lab, but basically it's a pharmacy tech preparing chemo drugs for patients.

Most people would find it boring.

here's what it looks like, although this tech isn't wearing a protective gown. That's a big no-no unless he doesn't mind getting radioactive material on himself and others.

Chemo is a terrible treatment for cancer. It works to kill cancer cells, but its so incredibly toxic to the body. Best way to prevent cancer is to prevent inflammation in the body. That's oversimplified of course. All the cancer triggers cause chronic inflammation in a part of the body (until one eliminates the trigger, like stops smoking). Also... keep your immune system strong. The immune system fights inflammation. One great way to keep the immune system healthy is by doing vigorous exercise regularly.
