Thank you for replying but it doesn't answer the question which is why didn't Jesus say one word about it? Homosexuality (orientation) was not undestood in Biblical times. It is not clear throughout the whole Bible; there are only six verses and some of those are questionable/have been questioned.

I am straight. I never chose. I believe it is not a choice. Not one I ever made and not one that anyone can make, or would want to make. That means it is not their fault. So many sins out there where people are harming others and we choose this particular thing to be obsessed with. Why???

He did. For example, ever read Romans 1? These are not Paul's words and thoughts, but the words of the Holy Spirit.

That's because there is no such thing as homosexual orientation. That is a recent myth which did not exist back then. But they did have homosexuality and that is discussed and condemned in the Old as well as the New Testament.

These are the words of Jesus:

6 And He said to me, “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. I will give of the fountain of the water of life freely to him who thirsts. 7 He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be My son. 8 But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.” Revelation 21:6-8

  • abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.”

All science ... all Medical associations worldwide are propagating a myth. I guess Evolution is a myth as well. Well, whatever you have to do to keep your "faith" intact, I guess.

So you are saying that straight people never chose, but homosexuals DID choose? huh?? And why choose something that would cause you so much pain and misery due to others? Makes no sense. The whole choice thng is bs.

OT law prevailed why Jesus was alive. that is not just the 10 commandments

familiarize yourself with the other 613 'laws' covering everyday life and you will see that the people Jesus came to, the Jews, already knew all about sexual sin and the law is plain regarding homsexual acts

it forbids a man to lie with another man and the penalty for doing so is death

all translations say that it is forbidden:

New International Version
"'Do not have sexual relations with a man as one does with a woman; that is detestable.

New Living Translation
"Do not practice homosexuality, having sex with another man as with a woman. It is a detestable sin.

English Standard Version
You shall not lie with a male as with a woman; it is an abomination.

Berean Study Bible
You must not lie with a man as with a woman; that is an abomination.

New American Standard Bible
'You shall not lie with a male as one lies with a female; it is an abomination.

King James Bible
Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.

Christian Standard Bible
You are not to sleep with a man as with a woman; it is detestable.

Contemporary English Version
It is disgusting for a man to have sex with another man.

Good News Translation
No man is to have sexual relations with another man; God hates that.

Holman Christian Standard Bible
You are not to sleep with a man as with a woman; it is detestable.

International Standard Version
You are not to have sexual relations with a male as you would with a woman. It's detestable."

NET Bible
You must not have sexual intercourse with a male as one has sexual intercourse with a woman; it is a detestable act.

New Heart English Bible
"'You shall not have sexual relations with a male, as with a woman. That is detestable.

GOD'S WORD® Translation
Never have sexual intercourse with a man as with a woman. It is disgusting.

JPS Tanakh 1917
Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind; it is abomination.

New American Standard 1977
‘You shall not lie with a male as one lies with a female; it is an abomination.

Jubilee Bible 2000
Thou shalt not lie with males as with women; it is abomination.

King James 2000 Bible
You shall not lie with a man, as with a woman: it is abomination.

American King James Version
You shall not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.

American Standard Version
Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.

Douay-Rheims Bible
Thou shalt not lie with mankind as with womankind, because it is an abomination.

Darby Bible Translation
And thou shalt not lie with mankind as one lieth with a woman: it is an abomination.

English Revised Version
Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.

Webster's Bible Translation
Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.

World English Bible
"'You shall not lie with a man, as with a woman. That is detestable.

Young's Literal Translation
And with a male thou dost not lie as one lieth with a woman; abomination it is.

Leviticus 18:22

I don't know what else you would expect Jesus to have said about it? I think this is plain enough

Jesus defined marriage as between one man and one woman for life. That is our sexual orientation not your perverted version of it.

“Haven’t you read the Scriptures?” Jesus replied. “They record that from the beginning ‘God made them male and female.’ ” And he said, “‘This explains why a man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one.’ Since they are no longer two but one, let no one split apart what God has joined together.”

Yes He did- Romans 1:26,27. Jesus commanded His apostles to write down everything that He told them to- therefore the teaching comes from Him and not from those who wrote it down like secretaries. As the bible says- ALL Scripture comes from the very mouth of God.

there are people born with both genitalia

when someone does not understand how fallen the human race is, they will dump on science and just try to avoid any conversation that makes them uncomfortable

however the Bible is quite capable of dealing even with those types of questions

you are not correct when you state Jesus never said anything about sexual sin...homosexuality in particular in this case

you cannot just read the NT and understand what is going with what God says

read the entire chap of Leviticus I quoted one verse from above...chapt 18

Yep, he talks about sexual immorality (and He is right) he is right.

Yeah, I know. Science is all bs. Except when it doesn't interfere with my belief system.
lots of stuff in Leviticus are abominations. Does God find eating shellfish abominable? Im serious here.

you know, those creatures actually eat carrion and other disgusting things. God did not allow for anything 'unclean' as you may know if familiar with the OT and the was drilled into the Israelites by physical law and behavior

as for pork, pigs are normally filled with a nasty little worm called trichinosis that is killed by freezing and I think cooking really well also so lambies it was...regular fish ok and fowl ...kind of forget all the details but they are there

what God finds abominable is what He calls 'unclean'

I should add that the NT does not have dietary restrictions for us now but if someone wants to follow them I'm sure that is fine for them

problems start when people want to force other people to follow the physical demands of OT law

some common sense should be thrown in the mix too because we are all (hopefully) much more aware of how to prepare certain foods now...however there are still plenty of precautions to be taken...MacDonalds just removed all their salads because people were sick eating them

so the nasties are still there

Eating shellfish was a different Hebrew word for "abomination" than the abomination for homosexuality. It meant eating it was a religious ceremonial violation. But that is done away with in the New Testament. But homosexuality is sickening to the point it makes God want to vomit is the "abomination" used there. Homosexuality is still prohibited in the New Testament.

Now I understand. You are right ... always and in all ways. Anyone who has a different view is wrong ... always and in all ways. I get it. I find it sad, but I do get it. I am not here to argue about this. I dont believe homosexuals are perverts who choose this. I believe they are attracted to the same sex (dont want to be but are). I am attracted to the opposite sex ... so I guess I am lucky. But I dont get on the back of their misfortune and call them perverts, or damn them to Hell. I think I will let God be the judge of all of these things and I suspect, sexuality (consensual between two adults/no harm to each other) will not be the biggest thing on his list.
Perhaps on his list will be things like murder, rape, cheating, lying, stealing, hurting others, etc., etc. Have a good day all.

Could be that of all the laws given/written to Israel, this is one Israel did keep and Jesus did not need to address this issue with them.

ALL sexual immorality is a sin. If I were to classify which is the worst it would that direct towards children. Ie, 'It would be better to have a millstone tied around you'r neck and thrown into the sea than to cause a child to stumble.' I believe Children are given a special grace by the Lord. This is not a matter for debate with me folks so please don't try. If you think bowing to Ceasar is as bad as pedophilia, well I won't feel sorry for you in the lake of fire.

Back on topic; Adultery and fornication are just as bad. Probably most of us have been guilty of at least one of them at some time in our lives. All we have to do is ask for forgiveness and repent but repenting takes more than words, it takes action.

Grease and Rome were openly pan-sexual societies back in the day. So the amount of sexual immorality we have today pales in comparison. Paul opened his robe in public to prove he was Jewish [circumsised]. Can anyone imagine a preacher doing that today?
