I have been struggling and praying for a long time for my marriage. My husband is a good man but went through an incredibly difficult time in his life a few years ago and it led to him feeling lost. Also kind of mid life crisis too and he had an affair. He confessed all and through my faith I was able to work through forgiving him& want to move forward. He tells me he loves me but still struggles to forgive himself and has never had God in his life so it makes it so hard for him to love and forgive himself. We still can't fully heal and move forward and I don't know how to reach him. I pray for him everyday and try to leave it in the Lord's hands but I'm struggling to keep my heart from being discouraged. I want to keep our family together but sometimes it feels hopeless

Welcome to CC, friend!

I’m so sorry to hear about your situation. I know how difficult it must be for you. It’s obvious that you want to have a good and happy marriage. I just said a prayer for you and your husband, asking the Lord to draw you closer to Himself and to each other in the days ahead. Do you have a support group nearby? Have you ever considered talking to a couple counselor? A good counselor might be able to give you some solid guidance. Your situation may seem impossible right now, but I do believe there is hope. May you rest in the assurance the psalmist expressed when he wrote: “In the day of trouble I shall call upon Thee, for Thou wilt answer me” (Psalm 86:7). Stay strong. Hugs!

thank you so much littlestarsmum. Your words of support, and especially prayers, mean so much and are appreciated!

My husband was hesitant about therapy all this time but he seems to be more willing now, so it's something I'm working on. I am blessed that I have wonderful family and friends that have supported me from the beginning. My husband struggles to reach out to anyone. I thank God everyday that my husband knew the affair was nothing real and remained here to work on things. I try to focus everyday on what God has put on my heart that we are in His hands and will be okay. His goodness gives me hope everyday.
Thanks again and blessings to you
