How to live a Godly life if you are living with someone who is a self righteous angry man who thinks he is the best of all and he does not want being corrected and instead gets angry at it and what if the worse part of it is he is your parent?

well Paul said in 1st Corinthians that “Evil company corrupts good habits.”

Will God understand or hates me if I became rude also and becomes an angry man because of being someone with a bad character?

How can you respect this kind of man whom I believe is almost the manifestation of the devil in the flesh?

Is there a way to respect them? I have no idea. The best I can do is understand that they are going to make their own decisions in their life and I am not the one to change that. You can pray for them. That's what I'm told to do if I have any issues with anyone.

I can relate somewhat to what you have posted here. I feel that I have a parent who has narcissistic tendencies. This parent can be very hurtful and insensitive and cannot stand being called out on it. I admit that I do drink alcohol to feel a mild buzz so I can tune out the pain. I don't enjoy drinking it so frequently, but the emotional pain of enduring a person with narcissistic traits is so bad that I find myself unable to handle it. . . . Years ago I was 5150'd because of how much emotional pain I had buried from the emotional neglect and abuse that narcissistic tendencies cause their victims. I think that until I move out and become fully independent of these people, I will not be happy in life.

Thank you for making this post.

we ought to share the truth in love.... maybe sometimes tough love

but no malice

if the someone tramples on the truth

there comes a point where we need to get up and go be used where we CAN BE of use

not grudgingly

pay your debts
if youre living with this person and they depend on you

give proper notice (what God puts on your heart)

and let God direct your steps from there

may God bless the both of you with knowledge of His will in the coming days

If it is your parent that you are speaking of, it's a tough situation, but no God will never hate you....God hates sin, but he loves the sinner. Don't let those bad habits drag you down from walking a daily walk with Jesus Christ. Remember the 5th commandment of God commandments, which is to Honor Thy Father and Mother. It's the first commandment with a promise, and that's to live long upon the Earth. Above all, stay in the Word and let the Holy Spirit speak to you and guide you through it. You set the example in front of him and let him see Christ through your actions and character, God will work on him. Much love and prayer your way

The thing is, you have the ability and knowledge to choose to do the right thing.

I grew up up with an abusive father and a narcissistic mother. I was beaten and abused all the time. In my day, there were no phone numbers to phone if you were an abused child. I remember once my dad beat me till I was unconscious. My face was one big bruise. My mom sent me to school the next day, told me to say I ran into a door if anyone asked.

Well, except for my best friend, no one asked. Not one teacher acknowledged the bruise that covered my face!

I felt hated, and I hated. Although I had been to Sunday School as a small child, I was far from those roots. I made a conscious decision to do evil, since “being good” wasn’t getting me anywhere!

It it got worse and worse. I ran away when I was 16, it took a month before they found me. No lessons were learned on either side, 6 months later, I ran away from home for good. I am convinced God had his hand in me, the fact that I was still alive.

God did save me at 26, and I tried hard to repair the damage in the relationship with my parents. Part of that was just following Christ as he changed me by the power of the Holy Spirit. But, they noticed!

God saved my father 5 months before he died. That was when we finally reconciled! It is possible with God!

As for you, make the decision to follow Christ because of who he is. If you are being abused, or someone else, contact the authorities. Abusers do need to be confronted, but the police are much more capable of doing it!

Don’t despair or give up. God loves you, he is with you, and he will help you. You are only ruining your own life, if you decide to imitate this bad man. Praying for you!

Here soon I'll have to stand entirely on my own two feet and stay away from anyone who abuses me. It's hard because it's akin to a dog who gets kicked and doesn't understand love in a healthy way. A dog will usually return to that abuse because it's all that dog understands. To first understand love in a healthy way, you have to first separate yourself from the abuser so that you can allow healthy forms of love into your life.

Hi Jameen I’m not sure how old your father is, but I see you are 31.
Is there any way you can move out?

If not, then you will have to learn to forgive and forget and be the better person.
I say this from experience, I live with my elderly aunt who is now 83. She has lots
of medical issues and possibly is starting with dementia. I’ve looked after her for 5
years now.

During periods of illness, confusion, hypoxia, UTIs, I’ve been called everything under
the sun, accused of stealing, of having parties in the house, even of bringing lots
of men home - when she mistakes the TV for someone in the house.

Even when she is medically stable, she misunderstands things which leads to
various unpleasantness. It hurts but now I’ve come to a point where I just let it
all go and just do what I do out of love for her.

Even despite the confusion, she is a Christian and is in God’s hands. A while back
one night I heard her crying and went in to see her. She was praying asking for
forgiveness and asked me to pray with her. So even despite the anger, hallucinations
and confusion, God breaks through.

I came across these verses recently. It’s all you need to do. If you love your father
you will act out of love. That love might include moving out to pursue your
own life but keeping in touch and praying and setting the example of Christ.
But realising you do not need to live in these circumstances if your father is
able to manage on his own.

It might include doing what I do, taking care of someone who can’t take care of
themselves and keeping no record of wrong.

Romans 13:8 NKJV
[8] Owe no one anything except to love one another, for he who loves
another has fulfilled the law.

Romans 13:8 NLT
[8] Owe nothing to anyone-except for your obligation to love one another.
If you love your neighbor, you will fulfill the requirements of God's law.
