... and i'm still waiting for a gentleman to start a thread that talks about a christian man's role/character/moral/etc.
here's my "half-baked idea" for a new thread

Genesis 3:17

17 To Adam he said, ...
... “Cursed is the ground because of you;
through painful toil you will eat food from it
all the days of your life.
18 It will produce thorns and thistles for you,
and you will eat the plants of the field.
19 By the sweat of your brow
you will eat your food
until you return to the ground,
since from it you were taken;
for dust you are
and to dust you will return.”

Gen 3:16 . .To the woman He said: Your desire will be for your husband.

Apparently the Hebrew of that passage is difficult; not even the great rabbis
Rashi and Ramban were in agreement how best to interpret it. But the
passage appears to me simply the very first law prohibiting adultery.

This law was enacted before there were any Jews, and before there were
any Christians. Everybody on Earth at the time of its enactment were
Gentiles-- and would continue to be Gentiles until such a time as Jacob came
along to engender Israel's twelve tribes.

So then, I take it that Gen 3:16 is a universal law regardless of one's race,
color, gender, religion, and/or ethnic identity; and to my knowledge, this
particular law prohibiting adultery has never been repealed.
_
I don't think it's a law, I think it's a judicial sentencing. Everything else in the passage is.

There's been a quite a bit of flap in the media of late about a gender issue
called misogyny-- defined by Webster's as hatred of women --while very
little flap about misandry; defined by Webster's as hatred of men.

Apparently some people think it's wrong to say denigrating things about
women while conveniently ignoring that it's a double standard to think
it's okay to say denigrating things about men.

Well, I have to ask, since when did women become a protected species?
Women are not a protected species. There are just as many, if not more,
women idling away the time in hell as men because God holds both genders
equally accountable for their ways.

Rom 2:9-11. .There will be trouble and distress for every human being
who does evil: for God does not show favoritism.

You man-hating women out there in cyberspace need to keep something in
mind. According to John 5:21-23 and Acts 17:31, Jesus has been assigned
the task of presiding over the great white throne event depicted at Rev
20:11-15, where you are going to be judged solely on the basis of your life
rather than the basis of your looks. Jesus will be neither influenced nor
impressed by the silkiness of your thighs nor the size of your bosoms; no, in
point of fact; he will be quite determined to disfigure them.

Rev 20:15 . . And whosoever's name was not found written in the book of
life was cast into the lake of fire.

In the end, it will be the sweet, gentle, turn-the-other-cheek Jesus who
subjects misandrist women to a death sentence akin to a foundry worker falling
into a kettle of molten iron, and permanently ruins any chances they might have
had for happiness in the future. For all eternity, condemned man-hating females
will grind their teeth with hot tears and white-knuckled fury that they ultimately
lost out on everything because of one lone male's obsessive control over their lives.

this is totally inappropriate

and ridiculous

it was the result of disobedience to God

of course it's not a law and to say it is, is personal interpretation

You can't possibly know how many women are idling their time away in hell because you are not God and do not know what is in the heart of anyone. I pray that there is no one idling away in hell and that the Hell's Population Clock you devised a couple years ago is still at zero and will remain so.

really?

I don't think you understand what Christ accomplished on the cross

one of the things He did, was to remove curses when He became a curse for us for it is written 'cursed are all those who hang on a tree (the cross made of wood)

if you prefer to dwell on negative results of the fall, that is your prerogative, however that would not be a recommended course of action

you are free to show us from scripture why you seem to believe that you are still under a curse

Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: "Cursed is everyone who is hung on a pole."
Galatians 3:13

“For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive” (1 Corinthians 15:22). Jesus came to bear “our sins in his body on the tree that we might live to righteousness” (1 Peter 2:24). “The wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord” (Romans 6:23).

as long as we are alive on this planet, we will have to acknowledge the effects of sin, but Christians, according to the word, according to what Christ has accomplished, are no longer under a curse.

using the OT to define our life in Christ is not warranted if you have understanding according to what God says in His word

we are a new creation in Christ. we are not bound by law and neither women nor men are bound by the curses of other people who have an agenda and wish to revisit and relive the downfall of mankind every 5 minutes

Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come.

Sorry this is lengthy but explains what im trying to say
To the serpent, he altered the animal's shape so that it had to crawl on its belly. In addition, he made a natural repulsion between the serpent's kind and the woman's kind. Even today, thousands of years later, there is a natural fear of snakes especially among women. Some people overcome their fear of snakes, but in general there is a natural dislike between snakes and people. In verse 15, there is a prophecy made about a future event. There would be hatred between a descendant of the snake and a descendant of the woman. The snake's descendant would bruise the woman's descendant's heel -- in other words, cause a minor wound. However, the woman's descendant would bruise the serpent's descendant's head -- in other words, deliver a mortal blow. Our benefit of hindsight tells us what happened. The descendant of the woman is Jesus. Jesus was born to a woman, but he did not have an earthly father. The serpent's descendant can be seen as either Satan himself, or those who follow after Satan. Satan bruised Jesus by arranging for his death on the Cross. This was only a minor wound, because God raised Jesus back to life. However, that resurrection was a mortal blow to Satan. Until that time, everyone eventually died. Satan used the power of death as the ultimate club to get his way. Since Jesus overcame death, Satan's club was destroyed. See Hebrews 2:14-15and I Corinthians 15:20-28.
Notice that death is another consequence of the sin of Adam and Eve. Until this time, there was no death. All creatures ate plants (see Genesis 1:30). Adam and Eve had access to the Tree of Life and therefore could live forever (see Genesis 3:22). By their sin, they introduced physical death into the world, giving Satan a mighty weapon to use against them and their descendants. God said they would surely die on the day they ate of the forbidden fruit. The Hebrew word for death in Genesis 2:17 literally means "dying you shall die." Adam and Eve did die a spiritual death immediately when they ate the fruit. Their sin separated them from God (Isaiah 59:2). But in their spiritual death, they also began to die physically. It wasn't just them. Their sin brought death to the whole creation (Romans 8:18-23).
The woman too received punishment for her sin. Just like the serpent, the punishment did not just effect her, but also all those who came after her. The first punishment was that childbirth would no longer be easy. It will be filled with sorrow and pain. Bearing children is not easy: from the morning sickness when the woman is first pregnant, to the discomfort of carrying a child, to the extreme pain of the actual birth, to the depression that follows as the woman's body returns to normal function. The second punishment was that the woman would no longer be emotionally independent. She would become emotionally bonded to her husband, becoming the follower, with the husband being the head of the family. Some women fight against this natural law, but it is a fact that this law exists.
The man also was punished for his sin. Like the serpent and the woman, the man's punishment did not effect Adam only. It applies to all men who descended from him. Until this time, Adam only had to do light work to care for the Garden. From this point on, man would have to labor hard for a living. The world would no longer cooperate and make it easy to earn a living. Even to this day, it is the man's responsibility to earn a living for his family. That work rarely comes easily, even if some of us do not do manual labor. The second half of the punishment is the affirmation of Adam, and all mankind's, eventual death.
The last consequence of Adam and Eve's sin was banishment from the Garden. The purpose of the banishment was to remove Adam and Eve's access to the Tree of Life. An angel (sometimes called a cherubim) was placed in the garden to ensure that no one could enter the garden. Their banishment also put a physical distance between them and their God who would walk at times in the garden. This is a physical representation of their spiritual separation.
As a gesture of kindness, God replaced their inadequate fig leaf garments with tunics made of animal skins. This may have been the first death after their sin, when an animal was killed to produce the skins for Adam and Eve's clothing. A tunic is a long shirt that goes from shoulder to the knees; it is similar to long tee-shirts used for nightshirts. The tunic became the basic garment for mankind for thousands of years.

the entire world, animals included, suffer and groan and wait for redemption

We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time.
Romans 8:22

the curses in the garden are still in effect but we as Christians are no longer cursed and no woman or man should put themself under the type of condemnation, judgement and personal bias against women in particular that the op has posted

maybe hang out around the forums for awhile instead of assuming people are saying what they are not saying

there is no defence for this type of op and tourist already pointed out, and most people responding to the op, God is not bashing women and neither is He bashing men

you can start another thread to discuss how you understand women suffering or the effects of the orginal curse...feel free

but this thread is entitled 'Eve's morals' and is actually pretty much representing a very negative attitude to women

I'm not discussing your personal experiences. we ALL suffer from the effects of sin in this world

again, and without prejudice, this is not what the op is about

the op wishes to denigrade women. that is the objective of this thread

thanks for understanding

I will respond to this because it is wrong

how did God replace the leaves? He had to KILL...sacrifice something He created to COVER the sin of Adam and Eve

it was NOT an act of kindness. death entered the world that day...both spiritually and physically. God was so angry He cursed the work of His hands. Later on He destroyed mankind save for Noah and His family.

you should also remember that even at the scene of the 'crime', God promised a Savior. Jesus.

21The Lord God made garments of skin for Adam and his wife and clothed them. Genesis 3:21 nothing about tunics or any other 'bloodless' covering. you miss the importance of this and the entire law(s) of God which came later and required blood sacrifice for the COVERING of sins...much like God COVERED sin in the garden...the ONLY sacrifice that actually FORGAVE sin, was the sacrifice, made ONE TIME AND FOR ALL TIME, of Christ, God's only son, who took upon Himself the sin of the world and through Whom we are not only forgiven of our sins, but redeemed, made righteous and acceptable to God who is Holy and cannot allow sin in His presence

now all of the above is not what concerns the op with his desiring to discuss Eve and adultery, but I want to make it clear I quite understand what Genesis relates and most of us here do

please understand I'm not discussing it further in this thread.

"Eves morals" quickly became "the curse of Eve"...i HAVE read quite a few of the posts and respinded but im TRYING to "play nice" as many get offended..defensive and argumentative..whether is women bashing..gay bashing..spiritual bashing..all of which a lot of these forums consist of..fact remains.."bashing" others means your focus isnt on God...and i DO know if nothing is "personal" here...why all the defensive argumentative people? Relatability can go beyond throwing scripture verses around just to be "right". See..i HAVE been around the forums...

well either you are new here as you say or...you have 'been around' the forums as you say

seems maybe it depends on what you say

so I pointed out to you that God did not create some kind of 'tunic' but had actually sacrificed animals who were innocent

and your response is complaining about the forums

you can't make this up

I'll leave you to it then
