How did it become Calvinism vs. Arminianism? What was the debate before the 15,000's or so? Were people saved before they knew they were not saved?.... Is that question plain? ...lol

You'll get a lot about Calvinism v Arminianisn in other threads.

I believe the bible teaches neither Calvinism nor Arminianisn.

For e.g... salvation that someone does call out for out of free will.. but that it can't be undone.

My impression of Calvinism is that someone does not pray or call out for salvation. They are saved b4 they believe.

Arminianism.. My impression is that salvation can be undone in this teaching.

So yea.. bible teaches neither.

Calvinism is the only correct Biblical view, it confesses the Bible's teaching on the elect is true. The others deny it, only Calvinist's hold to the true Biblical teaching on this matter.

Only Calvinism is faithful to the Bible teaching that we are saved by God's grace through faith alone. All the others teach that you are saved by making a choice to believe in Jesus, while the Bible tells us that nobody believes unless God opens their spiritual eyes.

So Calvinism is on it's own when it comes to being faithful to Gods Word, all the rest want to take some Glory off God and boast in their own wisdom. They claim that they were saved because they were wise enough to believe, while the reprobate just didn't have the IQ necessary to work it out.

so we have all you Calvinists and then we have 'the others'?

LOL!

Calvin was a man and maybe take a look into his murderous tendencies.

but of course he could always say that it was predetermined he would murder people so he was just obedient

none of it makes any sense!!! o_O

He was not talking about Calvin at all.

Also, no truth is dependent on the character of its proponent.

We are all Arminian until we get saved then some of us become Calvinists because we are special.

We all have free will to choose but some after they are saved are convinced that it wasn't their will at all.

Did Adam have free will to choose to follow Eve after she ate?

A biblical argument can be made for all the five points of Calvinism but not the way Calvinists interpret them. Calvinism as we see it today grossly overstates the TULIP. By doing so they pervert the bible principals that Calvin was attempting to establish.

no truth is dependant on the character of its proponent

The only difference between Calvinists and Arminianists is one believes God is sovereign over all things including who will be saved and who won't and the others believe He is sovereign over all things except who is to be saved.

Most of the scriptures support the belief that God is sovereign over every single thing and nothing can happen unless He wills it to happen.

If I say 2+2 = 4, it does not matter if I am a murderer or other kind of sinner. If its truth, its truth and your personal attacks on its proponent will do nothing.

You must attack the teaching (calvinism), not the proponent (Calvin).

"Whosoever" could mean one person or it could mean the whole world or something in between but we believe it refers to His elect
