Anyone have a positive experience with any of the thermogenic meal replacement powders and such? I used and was successful with Visalus, any others out there you have had good experience with?

The old brands were stuff like Slim Fast, newer ones rev up the metabolic rate, hence, "thermo- genic"

I had Graves’ disease several years ago, overactive thyroid.
Believe me there is nothing natural that you can eat to speed up
your metabolism, (at least nothing that is healthy) your body
compensates if it is working properly.

If your thyroid levels start to get to high, your body produces less
of the thyroid stimulating hormone to lower it. Too low and it
produces more of the TS hormone to increase it.

With me I had an auto immune disorder so my own body attacked my
thyroid gland and it could not function properly. You really wouldn’t want
that it increases your risk of heart attack, eye damage, organ damage.

If you want to lose weight a good diet with exercise, especially
muscle building exercises are best.

If for some reason your metabolism is too low then a doctor can
confirm that and give you thyroxine, but too much thyroxine
and your body just compensates if it’s working as it should.

I’ve lost around 20 pound all in since last year by exercising more
and counting calories. It get harder as you get older but it still
works. I got a Fitbit to keep track of how much exercise I get.

I thought caffeine did that generally, a raised heart beat doesn’t
necessarily mean a raised metabolism. 🙂

This might not count, but I drink Vega shakes once in a while. Great stuff. (Not advertising!) Just responding to the thread.

I'd prefer to stick to supplement shakes and juiced fruits/vegetables, but I'm going to end up eating some food here-and-there because exercising will make me hungry.
