Many here already know what I am posting, so ignore this if you are one of them.
Do you use a mouse with a scrolling roller?
If so, on most Windows Platforms since 7 the roller acts as a third celector..
When you are lookin in the notifications, the alerts specifically, open the "Show All" option.
Now red through them and as you do, use the roller and click on each one that catches your imagination.
You will see tabs opeing up above for each one, and you may keep the Show all page open while reading each tab, acting on it and closing the tab.
This will make your navigating fast and efficient..........enjoy, but mostly may God bless you and hold you close.
PS.......try using that whell to click on various items while navigating the Internet........you will be surprised.
