in a lot of English Bibles the saying is translated "soon" -- which i learned is not correct, it is "quickly"
i think this means that when the last things begin to occur, they will occur in relatively rapid succession - and that His coming will be in a sense 'sudden.' i believe this isn't so much expressing the amount of time between His first and second advent ((i.e. soon, though 'soon' to the Creator of the universe doesn't mean the same thing as it does to a human who may barely live 70 years)) as it is expressing the short period in which the last things take place.
i take it in your native language it is translated something like "quickly" ? that's cool.

Galaxies are so huge and we seem to be the only civilization in our own galaxy. We cannot know what is happening in other ones, they are too far away.
Maybe there is one civilization to colonize the whole galaxy? Its practically impossible to colonize other galaxies, if there is no way how to "cheat" with a travel faster than the speed of light.
Peter said that the universe will get old like a garment. Maybe its what science calls "heat death" of the universe. But it will happen after billions of years from now.
So, who knows what humanity will do in the future?
Or, maybe Jesus Christ will return before we will be able to even get to Mars
