WHO REALLY IS JESUS CHRIST? IS JESUS CHRIST GOD? (PART 2):
OTHER HIDDEN EVIDENCE THAT PROVES THAT JESUS IS GOD:
1) HIS NAME, JESUS, PROVES HE IS GOD! Without resorting to popular scriptures, are there other less known scriptures that UNDENIABLY PROVE that Jesus is God? Yes. Right in the NAME of Jesus is a PROOF that He is God. The word “Jesus” is an English TRANSLITERATION of the Greek word “Yesous”. “Yesous” itself is a Greek TRANSLITERATION of the Hebrew word “YESHUA”. “YESHUA” is the SAME as the Hebrew word “JOSHUA”. “YESHUA” or “JOSHUA” or “JESUS” mean “YAHWEH SAVES or GOD is SALVATION”.
While there were many people who bore the name “YESHUA” or “JOSHUA”, the most popular among them was Joshua who took over from Moses as the next leader of the Israelites in the wilderness.
While everyone who bore the name “YESHUA” or “JOSHUA” passed a message across that “YAHWEH SAVES”, that was not so with Jesus! In reference to Jesus before Jesus was born, an angel said to Joseph in a dream, “And she shall bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name JESUS, for He will SAVE His people from their SINS,” (Matthew 1:21.)
Since “JESUS” means “YAHWEH SAVES” and we are told by an angel that Jesus will “SAVE His people from their SINS,” UNARGUABLY, JESUS CHRIST is the very YAHWEH who SAVES! This is the very FIRST HIDDEN PROOF that shows that JESUS CHRIST is GOD. Jesus is YAHWEH! If you think that is wrong, then you obviously never understood the “PLAY ON WORDS” in God the Father NAMING His Son “JESUS”, which means “YAHWEH SAVES” and then declaring to Joseph through an angel that Jesus will “SAVE” His people. ONLY YAHWEH SAVES; If Jesus “will SAVE His people from their sins”, then He is YAHWEH! Jesus’ PROOF of GODHOOD is HIDDEN right in His name “JESUS!”
2) “SON OF GOD”: I have written articles on why Jesus is the “Son of God.” You may READ them on TRUTH WITNESS CHRISTIAN CENTRE PAGE. TRACE them through my Facebook profile and CLICK on “Pastor at TRUTH WITNESS CHRISTIAN CENTRE.” However, I will like to let you know that Jesus being referred to as the “SON OF GOD” is another UNDENIABLE EVIDENCE that He is God. HOW? The SON of a MAN who is an ADULT is a MAN, true or false? If you accept that the “SON OF A MAN” who is an ADULT is a MAN, UNEQUIVOCALLY, you ACCEPT too that the “SON OF GOD” is “GOD”. That doesn’t mean there are MANY GODS, rather, that Jesus is the “SON OF GOD” because He is the ONLY MANIFESTED and APPROACHABLE “FORM” of the “GODHEAD”.
We are told about Jesus: “He is the IMAGE of the INVISIBLE GOD, the FIRSTBORN over all creation.” (Colossians 1:15). Many often misread this to mean the same as God creating us in His IMAGE. However, in Hebrews 1:3, the scripture puts it in CLEARER terms: “He is the SOLE EXPRESSION of the GLORY of God (the Light-being, the out-raying or radiance of the divine), and He is the PERFECT IMPRINT and the VERY IMAGE of (God) NATURE...” Amplified Version. In other words, Jesus is the ONLY EXPRESSION or SOLE EXPRESSION of the GLORY of God and the PERFECT IMPRINT and the VERY IMAGE of God's NATURE. (Note the words "PERFECT IMPRINT and VERY IMAGE.") What does this mean? The word “EXPRESS” is an English TRANSLITERATION of the Latin words, “expressare” and “expressus”. While “expressare” in Latin means to “press out”, “expressus” means “CLEARLY EVIDENT”. Applied to the scripture in Hebrews 1:3, it means that Jesus is the ONLY or SOLE “CLEAR EVIDENCE” of GODHEAD’s EXISTENCE. In that case, you can never go anywhere and see any other VISIBLE MANIFESTED EVIDENCE of the GODHOOD except Jesus. This means that the ONLY GODHEAD who has RELATED and SPOKEN with MAN and ANGELS from CREATION of heavens and the earth is Jesus and Jesus ALONE!
GOD in His ORIGINAL STATE is INVISIBLE. But when God became VISIBLE, His VISIBLE form became known as “SON OF GOD” and that VISIBLE FORM OF GOD is Jesus Christ. Being the “FIRSTBORN over ALL CREATION” means that Jesus is the very FIRST MANIFESTED VISIBLE BEING and ENTITY.
3) “IMMANUEL”: One of the NAMES of Jesus that REVEALS His DIVINITY is the name “IMMANUEL”. The book of Isaiah in reference to the HUMAN BIRTH of Jesus says: “Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a SON, and shall call His name IMMANUEL.” (Isaiah 7:14) “IMMANUEL” means “GOD WITH US.”
WHY did God call Jesus Christ “IMMANUEL” if “IMMANUEL” means “GOD WITH US?” God did so because Jesus is “GOD” MANIFESTED at first in HUMAN FORM and NOW, DWELLING in HUMANS through the BAPTISM of the HOLY SPIRIT: that is, “IMMANUEL” means “GOD WAS WITH HUMANS” by TAKING A HUMAN FORM and “IS NOW WITH HUMANS” through the INDWELLING of the HOLY SPIRIT in them. So right in another name of Jesus, “IMMANUEL”, is yet another PROOF that Jesus is GOD.
4) “LET ALL THE ANGELS WORSHIP HIM”: We are told about Jesus: “But when He again brings the FIRSTBORN into the world, He says: “Let all the ANGELS OF GOD WORSHIP Him.” (Hebrews 1:6)
In other words, God COMMANDED that ALL the ANGELS should WORSHIP Jesus. But however, there is only ONE BEING or LIFE-GIVING BEING to whom God reserves WORSHIP. We are told: “Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lust of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves, who exchange the truth of God for the lie, and WORSHIPED and SERVED the CREATURE rather than the CREATOR, who is blessed forever. Amen.” (Romans 1:24-25)
God gave people up to uncleanness because they WORSHIPED and SERVE CREATURES rather than the CREATOR. If God COMMANDED the ANGELS to WORSHIP Jesus when He was BORN here on earth, it is because He is the CREATOR. Jesus wasn’t just an instrument of creation, He is the CREATOR. Being the CREATOR, He is GOD.
5) “FIRSTBORN OVER ALL CREATION”: There is a phrase that is constantly used in reference to Jesus Christ that is often MISINTERPRETED. That phrase is “FIRSTBORN OVER ALL CREATION” or just “FIRSTBORN”: “He is the image of the invisible God, the FIRSTBORN over all creation.” (Colossians 1:15); “But when He brings the FIRSTBORN into the world…” (Hebrews 1:6)
Many people, including Jehovah Witnesses, have mistaken this to mean that Jesus was created. That is COMPLETELY FALSE! First, we are told that Jesus has “neither BEGINNING of DAYS nor END of LIFE,” (Hebrews 7:3). We are also told that Jesus possesses “the POWER OF AN ENDLESS LIFE.” (Hebrews 7:16.) These are one of the FIVE MAJOR CHARACTERISTICS of GODHOOD, that is, they are the very things that PROOF that a “BEING” is the ALMIGHTY, EVERLASTING God. If Jesus being the “FIRSTBORN over all CREATION” does not mean He was CREATED what then does it mean?
God is SPIRIT. Being SPIRIT, God is INVISIBLE. God also is SOVEREIGN. Being SOVEREIGN, God does not need anything or anyone to exist or execute His purposes. However, when God decided to CREATE heaven and the angels in it, the earth and all things in it, and the whole universe, He had to take a VISIBLE FORM. This VISIBLE FORM of the GODHOOD is whom we know today in Christianity as Jesus Christ or the “Son of God.” So Jesus Christ is the “FIRSTBORN over all CREATION” not because He was CREATED but because He is the FIRST VISIBLE EXISTENCE among all things that EXIST and that are VISIBLE.
Remember that the Bible does NOT say anywhere that Jesus is the FIRST CREATURE of all creations, but rather FIRSTBORN. QUESTION: If Jesus is the FIRSTBORN over all CREATION, then who gave BIRTH to Him? The scripture says: “For to which of the angels did He ever say: ‘You are My SON, today I have BEGOTTEN You?” And again: “And the word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory as of the only BEGOTTEN of the FATHER…” (John 1:14)
In other words, Jesus was BEGOTTEN by GOD THE FATHER. Without CONTROVERSY, that which is BEGOTTEN by LION is LION. That which is BEGOTTEN by GOAT is GOAT. That which is BEGOTTEN by MAN is also MAN. This being the case, HOW does someone ARGUE that Jesus is not GOD if Jesus was BEGOTTEN by GOD the FATHER? If Jesus was BEGOTTEN by GOD the FATHER, He is WITHOUT DOUBT GOD also!
However, that Jesus was BEGOTTEN does not mean being BEGOTTEN in the SENSE we HUMANS BEGET. Jesus was BEGOTTEN when the INVISIBLE, UNAPPROACHABLE GOD took a “FORM” so He could be VISIBLE and APPROACHABLE.
