lol yes i am 'that guy' who presses all the buttons when he gets in a new car etc and scrolls through all the menus on things, often leading to a need to do a 'reset' because he's messed with lots of settings he doesn't understand yet

.. i'll help you look :)

i'm thinking groups are gone, and i haven't seen blogs either. ((?))
i know some people posted lots of blogs, but i rarely read them personally, only if they happened to catch my eye in the 'new activity' sidebar.
i had joined a couple of groups long ago, but there was never any activity in them.

i did notice that you can start pms (('conversations')) with multiple participants, which is kind of 'groupy'

Any idea how to delete PM's once I've read them? And also how to delete alerts once I've viewed them?

to delete PM's:

open up the conversations page ((click the mail icon at top right)) and show all..

then there's a box next to each PM, click one you want to remove

Capture.JPG

then at the bottom of the page you have a banner pop up..

Capture.JPG

click the arrows to get a list of options for what to do with the message(s) you've checked..

Capture1.JPG

choose "leave conversation," then hit "Go"

Capture2.JPG

you'll get an option to either essentially 'block' or not for the conversation. a conversation can be multiple people, not just one, now, so i don't know if that means you'd be blocking individually everyone in the 'group PM' or just blocking that particular conversation, like blocking a certain thread, but in PM-world
my guess would be the latter but i'd have to block a group PM to find out, and i don't have one yet :)

hmm the little red notification goes away when i view them, but it's like the list of 'likes' we used to have, they never disappeared. i like that i can use that to find a thread or a reply easily.

getting a notification when someone quotes me is very much appreciated ((thanks RoboOp!)) -- one for every new reply to a thread is a bit much but i can turn that off, which is nice too.
being able to customize it and get more options for things i used to have to actively go look for, yay :)

I know updates are frustrating because we have become so accustomed to the way things are. But the new app and site are going to be amazing with much more capability than what we had before. However, it is going to take some time to peruse the new features, so I encourage you to be patient as all of the new features are added and the bugs worked out. Moving forward!

I can't either, and the groups are the only reason I am here at all.
I would assume they initiated the new site as soon as it was up to a "relatively functional" level... meaning they will probably be tweaking things for a while.

The groups actually motivated me to come and engage. I find CC quite a destructive place with all the disagreements and arguing. If I stay around two much I will start to behave in a not particularly Godly manner. While the groups were around I would come and have a look around, and occasional post. Even if I didn't post I would pray for people who were still about.

One lives in hope. Somehow I think they may not be restarted.

Are you on the computer or on the phone blue?
Computer but I finally found the blogs forum. I have to filter through by searching my name, and even then it doesn't show me ALL the blogs I've started. Good thing I have them all on speed dial from before.. lol

Well, you could always post a specific thread about that, but the people with answers may be too busy working on things to reply.

Are we gonna gain some forum mods with this change over? Cuz we DESPERATELY need mods in here. The trolls come out to play whenever no mods are online.. :(
