Many years ago as a little girl, i longed to be loved by my Mom......But who was she? I was under 1 year old when my mom left my sister and i and my Father for another man...many times crying for my mommy longing for her love and touch.....i thought it was my fault that she left us, not understanding for many years......Years had gone by and i told people my mom was dead because the pain was to hard......i said i do not have a mom...But what i really was crying out for in my heart was her real love.....i found the love of God is real and my heavenly Father loves me and will never leave me....God is faithful to me also ....i do see my mom now years later God brought us together ...she was not able to give me love ...my mama is lost not knowing God, a woman who needs Jesus and healing .....so at 61 years old now and she is 81 i still know Gods love keeps me and i will love my heavenly Father forever.....God heals a broken heart...love in Christ Sherril...

I'm sorry this happened to you - it breaks my heart to read it. You are precious. I pray He heals the pain and gives you deep comfort, peace and joy.

I really hope you find/found peace from what happened, it's never too late, only if you choose to. My mother didn't leave me but she apparently hated me since day 1 and made sure to let me know every day... I feel way better since I've gone no contact with her. I don't need her love or acceptance anymore and same goes for my earthly father. God will fill the gaps they left. Our parents are supposed to give an image of what God is like before the child develops cognitive abilities - love, care, nourishment, much wiser than us, teaching good things - which should establish the compass of what is good and true. When we are small they are our world. Some people do poorly or plain horribly and set us back and set the compass off kilter... child starts believing they're worthless, that things will always be bad, that they are abandoned, etc. based on this early experiences which have massive impact... literally have to brain-wash myself with positive things in the Bible and as soon as I neglect this a little I quickly slip back into what I "learned" from them...
We always do the best we can at the time. I was angry for a while but finally accepted my parents couldn't and can't do better because they are very sick (I don't mean physically). One wouldn't be angry at a parent with Alzheimer's because they forgot their child's name, right? Well some people are so sick that they don't even have natural affection to their child. How is that a healthy individual? It's all disease in need of physician, just like Jesus taught. That ultimately changed my perspective.

Oh i understand greatly of what you are saying soulweaver, yet knowing God is so beautiful toward us He will never leave us or forsake us........God truly is to be trusted for He is faithful. My husband also came from a family that do not know God or Jesus as there Lord. When he was a boy at times there were things that a mom and dad should never do......What happens is we find ourselfs in family's where the parents have been hurt and abused and so that's what they know.....But we have found God is our love, best friend, God is all we need.....Some times through the years fighting off that spirit of rejection....God brings hope love and compassion through freedom in Christ...thank you for sharing...God uses our lives to testify of His goodness and grace .....love in Christ Sherril.....
